Effects of 12.7mm HEI on unarmoured targets? On lightly armoured (see: ESAPI) targets?

Depending of the fuse, it may or may not detonate in body if they're not wearing armour. In body detonation without a armour will likely remove limbs and take out large chunks of meat. Even if it did detonate after exiting the body, shrapnel would probably kill the victim and anyone within 0.75-1m.

If it hits a plate, though, I suspect it would partially penetrate the plate before detonating, turning any ceramics into shrapnel while blowing a hole in the chest behind the plate.

More than enough I should think. Between those and a dU APFSDS I shouldn't have any issues.

In other news, I fixed the overhang issue. By adopting a layout similar to the Kongsberg 153 RWS and moving the ammunition storage into the hull I can reduce the weapon stations width to 380mm despite mounting a BRG-15 style dual-feed HMG.

Are ye' some kind o' rubber-spined nancy-boy? You want to remove the meat of your foes, one fist-sized exit wound at a time; having doctrine built around "Maiming" is like saying you want to tickle a bloke in a street fight, the other bloke has a rather hefty link of chain with your name on it. Cripple the other bastard in an almost irreparable way. Honestly, this fuckin' spineless concept of "Merciful war" sickens the shit out of me. If you want to kill a bastard, fuckin' KILL THEM. Don't be mister nice guy and play silly buggers with them in a corner once it's all over. I mean, offering to help the nation you just crushed under your boot, which is YOURS by right of blood spilt and the sheer act of victorious conquest is just fuckin' stupid. Beat your foes past bloody, make them pay by the inch and to the hilt for declaring war or even being at war with you in the fuckdamn first place.

Anything less is simply cowardice; which is revolting and a sign of weakness in the eyes of your enemies.

And you wonder why I lost any respect for you as a person.

It would likely need to hit a point near a limb to pull off a chunk of flesh large enough to sever a limb. The round, assuming detonation, would likely kill the individual pretty much anywhere it hit in the lovely square of death that everyone has. Blood loss, shock, cardiac arrest, fragmentation and burns are all going to happen in addition to the trauma inflicted by the 12.7mm round, which, I probably dont need to tell you, is pretty massive.

So would their be any difference if I used ether the AK-101 or AK-102 during international/Multi-national operations? I know the AK-102 is the carbine version of the AK-101 but would there be any disadvantages or advantages if I used one over the other or should I use them in the same way the the IS uses the M16 and M4?

I went to armorer school, qualified to work on the M16, Galil, M203, and Uzi, learned to do basic armorer tasks on the FN-MAG and Browning machineguns, spent several weeks as an armorer, then became a system administrator in an IDF base, then after doing that for a while became an officer's personal secretary. None of these are glamorous.

And then got arrested by Special Forces for going on patrol near their base? ;)

Either way the poor bastard's 'incapacitated'. Indeed, a three round salvo should decimate people, or even small units.

Weight: 600kg
Length: 1.36m
Width: 400mm
Height: 1.47m

Main Armament: Aartsengel Wapenfabriek Autonomous Weapons Platform mounting either a 13.2x94mm HMG or 20x55mm GMG/Light Autocannon
Armour: All around STANAG 4569 level 1
Engine: 37kW AR801 Rotary Engine
Transmission: Hydraulic
Suspension: Independent six legged
Fuel Capacity: 54l
Speed: 7km/h
Endurance: 24hr

Anything glaringly wrong?.

The point is to make a highly mobile weapons platform capable of providing heavy weapons support to troops who normally wouldn't have it, namely air assault, light infantry and notODSTs.

Anything further? I know these types of things tend to get a bad rep for being idiotic, but I'm trying to make it realistic.

Why would you have 5.56 AKs in some units and 5.45 AKs in the others? If it were me I'd give standard AK-74Ms to basic infantry (AK-101 is the exact same thing just in 5.56) and then give the elite units the AK-12 because they can share ammo then. Or keep it standardized and give the elite units 74Ms with Zenitco rail systems and stocks.

I'd give both the AK-74M since the AK-12 has relatively few to no benefits over the '74M, anyway. Start shoving AK-105s in there when something shorter than a '74M but longer than a '74U is needed.
