There would be fighter escorts and a likely distraction force, and if it were me I would try and shoot down the enemy's AWACS long before I sent the bombers. But the ability to monitor an entire ocean paired with 1000km+ SAM's renders the need for fighters obsolete as all my aircraft will just get shot down by 5,000 missiles of that wanktastically long range.


However, I have found a hard-hitting way to defeat the Longsword which can slip beneath its radar and has an extremely small sonar cross section as well as a heavy-hitting weapon...

Just as a limit, as one of the lords has a rather large and well trained army, what is a decent number his army will be?

Depends entirely on the lay out of land, number of nobles, wealth of the kingdom, etc.

Note that at this time standing armies as we know them did not exist in Europe. They were almost entirely levee forces called up as needed with a small number of professional fighters (knights and lords) and/or mercenaries.

Since the chronicles I am relying on talk about strength at the battlefield I'm sort of auto counting for those. Plus deserters and traits weren't as big a deal as disease.
