Unless you're fighting Iraq, in 1991, you won't be able to achieve this.

Many people here really overestimate the importance of Military equipment.

Iraq is an excellent example. Yes, western forces did have better equipment than the Iraqis.
Western Forces also outnumbered the Iraqi Forces, they were more disciplined, they had better battlefield awareness and were better commanded.

You don't win a decisive victory like that unless you have every advantage.

The Iraqi army's main problem has always been the same: It's made up of Hummus-eating surrender monkeys with little sense of national pride (And I don't blame them tbh.)

How about my number #1 favorite. Selling commissions. A big thing in most European armies for a very long time.
And yes, they knew full well it was a bad thing and produced bad results.

Yeah, like beating Napoleon and saving the continent from universal tyranny.

And Charging cavalry through narrow gully at heavy guns with supporting infantry. Sometimes the commanders were good, sometimes they weren't, certainly they got more bad commanders because they could (and would) just buy them selves a commission instead of getting promoted based on experience.

Unsurprisingly, I didn't really think about how heavy heavy artillery would be and how much of a pain it would be to move around in the jungle

I'm just on a fucking roll tonight -_-

I'm aware. I said dictator encase someone said something about civilian casualties

Selling what?
I use this old account for FT, Pentaga Giudici and Vadia are for MT.

People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening"

Construction is taking forever, but Prole Confederation will be paying millions of Trade Units for embassies and merchants that show up at the SBTH

Selling what?

Officers commissions. For the better part of the history of western professional armies you could just dish out a bag of gold and get your self any rank you wanted. Assuming of course you were of the right origin.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

The above post contains hyperbole, metaphoric language, embellishment and exaggeration. It may also include badly translated figures of speech and misused idioms. Analyze accordingly.

Would've been better if you could only buy your own equipment if you wanted to be say, an officer without any real experience.

The Charge of the Light Brigade was due to communications error. Non-purchasee officers could have easily made the same screwup.

The animosity between the commanding officers was a big part of why the miscommunication happened. That animosity probably wouldn't have existed, or more likely wouldn't have produced those results, if they had been professional soldiers with training and experience.

The Crimean War (and Napoleonic War to a lesser extent) is filled with mistakes and problems created by inexperience and lack of training for the officers.

I'm looking for a long range strike aircraft capable of carrying a wide range of weapons, including AShMs

Besides those two options and the Su-24 mentioned, have you looked into the Tu-22M Backfires, especially the upgraded versions? Russia even tried to gain export customers for them, so this should fit nicely into your nation's narrative.

Welcome to the NSverse, where funding priorities and spending levels may seem very odd, to say the least.

I'm not defending the British officer corps of that era, just being pedantic. Patton and Bradley were professionals but it didn't make them BFFs.
