I can see how the speed could be considered objectionable, given that it is basically 20km/h higher than modern tanks. But what is wrong with his choice of using an autoloader for the main gun? A 13cm piece would certainly benefit greatly from one.

I will say this re Vancon, though, most modern tanks are limited to around 70 km/h, and track wear has a lot to do with this. Sure, your tank may be able to get up to 90 km/h, but that may not be something you want it to do.

I think Maximum Speed should denote the maximum speed that your vehicle can reach and sustain safely. After all, your tank can probably reach the speed of sound if you drop it from a high enough mountain. But you would not list that either.

I just ask because it seems like, thematically, your nation wouldn't really have all that much need for such firepower, dictator's whims aside.

From what I've gathered studying US strategy in Vietnam (among other conflicts that took place in jungles), having lots and lots of heavy firepower is very useful for a verity of reasons. The main reason being that in jungle combat is often very hard to exactly pinpoint an enemy position, so simply lobbing more explosives at it is a good way of increasing the likelihood that you're damaging the target. Another reason, one that I've deduced myself so it may be stupid, is that heavy artillery often has far longer ranges then lighter artillery so when trying to establish a protected firing base in the jungle its better to have long ranged artillery that doesn't force you to uproot the firebase every time you make a small advance (the main way you grain ground in the jungle due to logistics issues when rapidly advancing in thick jungle)
In regards to why I have so much heavy artillery, I actually don't lol. I'm currios about a wide range of heavy weapons and Padnak uses a wide range of heavy weapons, just not in large numbers.
Also, dictator.

The U.S. stopped lobbing heavy artillery over into jungles because it was burning the jungles and killing civilians.
Probably some other reasons, but that's all I can think of atm.
