We have banned the importation of combs. To remind our Dear Leader, the glorious Eternal-President-for-Life that he does not have hair is seen as subversive to our regime. Of course many young men have taken it upon themselves to shave their heads and imitate the hairstyle of the Dear Leader. Of course, the paragons of western imperialism, the WA investigators shamed our country with their long, flowing locks and flagrant use of combs.
All Hail our Dear Leader, the Eternal-President-For-Life, who brings death to all foul western imperialists with laser vision!

that would probably be ... ... hmmm ... ... hugging in public.
This place is not a place of honor... no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here... nothing valued is here. What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us.
The danger is in a particular location... it increases towards a center... the center of danger is here... of a particular size and shape, and below us.
The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours. The danger is to the body, and it can kill. The form of the danger is an emanation of energy.
The danger is unleashed only if you substantially disturb this place physically. This place is best shunned and left uninhabited.

The republic once banned ice cream from the community. The ban was lifted after one week.

Uh, Precisely what type of potatoes and pumpkins are you using, it will affect the speed and the energy the victim must absorbed to survive.I used a Gauss-accelerated potato cannon and the potato is a petrified Irish Giant Thermonuclear Potato which has a lot of green bud around it.Tested on my neighbor which is my personal butler and his whole family got accidentally nuked and his cousin pressurized me to make a nation-wide ban on potato, which i impaled all heads of his relative in the process

Since 1984, The Magistrality of Nova Doria has banned individual nationals from all manners of registering intellectual property as “all rights reserved” beyond a term of 14 years and “any right reserved” beyond their lifetimes in their individual names*. Pursuant to a 1987 amendment to this law, Neodorian corporations are explicitly banned from claiming “all rights reserved” on any intellectual property beyond the lifetime of its actual creator(s)*. In the language of the law, either action “constitutes the tort of extraordinary censorship**”. Its provisions apply exclusively to Neodorian nationals and corporations so that the government is unencumbered in cooperating with the enforcement of foreign intellectual property laws.
*not that they ever actually did this before the law was enacted
**this tort preexisted the law

Here in the Communist Oriental Republic of New Uruguay, here are the 5 weirdest things prohibited by law.

5. Aircraft heavier than air
Reason: they can fall out of the sky and crash on someone's house at any time.

4. Everything to do with religion
Reason: we are a leftist communist country. Most religious texts promote conservative values (i.e. homophobia).

3. High-performance supercars
Reason: too many bratty, entitled supercar-driving snobs on the roads.

2. The English language (our official languages are Spanish, Russian, and Portuguese)
Reason: it is the de facto official language of the United States of America (see #1 below)

1. Anything from the United States of America
Reason: (according to our view) the US of A is a power hungry bully, that uses its military for offensive purposes. In addition, it sets standards for other countries (human rights, rights of the child, etc.) that it never follows.

Using US dollars is banned in Artaeon, if our citizens/companies insist on using foreign currency, then Euro, Pound sterling or Yen are being recommended by the government.

From 1916 to 1966, molasses were banned in the capital of the Dartmouth Islands, Dionne after a molasses production plant's tanks blew up on a hot January day, killing 43 people, and leaving hundreds injured. It took months to clean up, and thus, any evidence of molasses (since Dionne at the time was the national producer of molasses) were punishable by a fine of one lira and fifty senti. Molasses factories had to shut down, but by 1937, it ceased to be enforced. Molasses factories came back but with very strict standards (as per the Dionne Molasses Law, 1936) to prevent a repeat of the 1916 molasses incident. However, it never officially repealed the ban on the consumption of molasses until 1966 when some city councillor discovered the law still on the books and proposed a repeal which was passed unaminously.

Thus, 50 years to the day of the incident, molasses were legalized again in Dionne.

A recent amendment to the law book has outright prohibited the Yukonastan human population from utilizing the werewolf population, whether willingly or unwillingly, to get handicap benefits. People were playing the "blind" and "retarded" cards too often to get better service or better parking spaces, with werewolves playing guide dogs. This also applies to werewolves, except it's worded differently. Werewolves may not assist humans in obtaining benefits reserved for the less able bodied or mentally ill. Same goes for any dogs, although they will be issued government harnesses if they're trained guide dogs.
