What we are looking for:
1. Good writing. You don’t have to have been on NS forever, but being able to provide a good example of writing with correct English grammar is important.
2. Good roleplaying. An understanding of how to write solely one’s own nation’s perspective without writing the responses or action’s of another’s, having a good understanding of the difference between IC and OOC is important.
3. Nations that are Modern Tech, with a real world size population, willing to work on their economy and fit into the region’s history and political life.
4. The Cornellian Empire collapsed in the 1860s. Your nation should have become part of it no later than in the early 18th Century, and left it no earlier than the late 1850s. The Cornellian Empire existed roughly from the fifteenth century AD to the early 20th Century where its remnants finally collapsed into several independent rump states.
5. Work on the region is an ongoing group project. Developing regional history, economics, bilateral relations between countries and questionnaires that help flesh things out are in our regional forum. You would need to participate in this.
6. Populations should be no more than 200 million, but we'd prefer for you to ask first. We prefer on average that populations should be roughly 5-50 million for highly developed nations, and perhaps smaller to larger for less developed nations.
7. Petroleum states are limited in number on purpose. Currently there are two active player petroleum states. We may be open to a few more, please ask first.
8. Please ask about nukes and bio warfare and the like before stating them. We generally discourage this.
9. No alternative nations.

The Cornellian Empire once spanned the region, providing law and order. Following a great war over the succession to the Empire that divided it as different factions fought to control the succession, it collapsed into disunity. One-hundred and fifty years later, the old structures are gone, with some nations clinging to old traditions along with their independence while others have become entirely independent. How did your country become part of the Empire, what was the rule of the Empire over your nation like, and how did your nation leave the Empire?
