You got a bit of nu-disco, a lot of techno-trance/hands-up, a good amount of emo/post-hardcore rock, S-pop (Salisaro pop, similar to J-pop), electroswing, and recently it's become a meme in Zeganas to like lo-fi hip hop instrumentals but that genre was taken seriously by a lot of people.

Arguably Synthwave (often given the derogatory (yet commonly used) moniker "syntho," thus fans are often called "Synthoids"), which is generally classified under Pop-Rock. (OOC: Basically 80s music, and imitation 80s music, and other modern pop-electronica).

Other genres that receive considerable airtime include (Anglo-Celtic-American) folk, and ambient music (i.e.: "easy listening").

Many music critics have criticised the fact that Syntho music has supremacy over the Korwinian music industry, with very little diversity. Most Top-40 hits are in the realm of "syntho" or electronic pop. Which cause some to argue that Korwinian pop culture has become overly complacent and stale. However, the subject of "syntho" music varies drastically. For instance, the most consistently popular band in Korwin, MUNA, is often classified as "sad pop," with serious subject matter related to depression, rape, drugs, and independence. Other songs and bands often focus on serious issues within modern society culture, and make ridicule and mock modern affairs, like Jefferey McHall's recent single "I'd Love It If We'd Made It,"-- or pretty much most of McHall's post-revolution works. However, most songs' topics revolve around romance and rebellious youthfulness.

Alternative Rock holds 68% of the market share in Canon, followed by pop, vocal pop and indie. Traditional music has also remained vibrant into the 21st century.

Where to begin? We've got lots of electronic music, especially the Juno Reactor-type sound. Classical music, especially the epic Russian pieces by Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky and Mussorgsky, is also quite popular. There are some metal/rock bands, with Rammstein being particularly popular.

While pieces of international pop music make it into the Lillorainian charts every now and then, there is a clear preference of certain genres visible throughout the Federation of Lillorainen. The most popular ones include:
  • Metal, especially Nordic Metal (hardly a surprise, given the cultural makeup of Lillorainen), but also Metal with traditional sounds from other countries.
  • Electronic, especially Vocal trance and Eurodance. In general, Lillos prefer melodic pieces over blunt "oots-oots-music".
  • Rhenish Rock (rock music sung in the most common dialect spoken in Lillorainen).
  • Disco, domestic as well as international.
  • Traditional music, especially Nordic Folk, but folk music from other countries is becoming increasingly popular as of lately as well.
  • Classical music, especially marches.
Since Lillorainen's geography is currently being overhauled a 'tiny' bit, most information on it posted before December 12, 2018, is not entirely reliable anymore. Until there's a new, proper factfile, everything you might need to know can be found here. Thank you. #RetconOfDoom (Very late update, 2020/08/30 - it's still going on ...)
