The Slow Loris, a shy and elusive jungle-dwelling prosimian. They are revered for their ability to spend entire days just sitting around not doing very much, a trait with obvious appeal to many Melvonians. We also have a soft spot for sloths (the Mount Rocquefort Sloth Sanctuary is a popular attraction, with visitors enjoying long hours of sloth-watching) and the Pygmy Edible Snail (reserved now for the annual St Ortho's Day Snail Hunt).

Brellach's national animal is the horse. Horses are the life-blood of many tribes, some of which base their entire lives around their steeds, and as all city-dwellers descend from tribes it retains a cultural significance with them as well. As per tradition, every Divine Queen has her own personal, 'royal horse', which serves as her companion and her primary mode of transportation across Brellach. The royal horse, the current one being named 'Enan', often appears alongside the Queen in official imagery.

The prokaryotic platypus, which is the only unicellular organism known to have four foot-like flagellums, a beak, and lay eggs. It's also the main cause of ear infection among children and moderately dangerous sexual diseases among adults.

The Golden Eagle. Also know as the Golden Falcon, it was one of the few animals to survive The Great Cleansing un-mutated. It represents Justice, Freedom, Tenacity, and Resilience. They are often found souring majestically through Ammerinia's famously clear skies.
