I'm not exactly sure what to classify our government as. It's lead by a chancellor who has a lifelong term and he also has dictatorial powers however a small council of individuals can force him to step down, legally.

military monarchy. the monarch is elected by by top military leaders then title is passed on to the next elected monarch. or the title can be gotten by a 1v1 fight to the death with the monarch.

Officially a monarchy, but in reality its more of a warlord state. The new leader is chosen by defeating the old leader in a duel, whereupon they become the old leader's new superior and thus the overall highest leader. The old leader usually stays in place, but now as an inferior of the new leader.

  • The old leader is rarely killed. That'd waste their skills.
  • The system applies equally to natives and outsiders.
  • The current leader is the Avatar of a God.

The Kingdom of Great Ireland is a constitutional monarchy. Our head of state is the High King (currently Donnchad IX). Our legislature has two houses, the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The House of Commons is elected, with the leader of the majority coalition serving as Prime Minister. The House of Lords is rather complicated. By tradition, it has sixty seats, although this has not been codified into law. Thirty-seven of the seats are held by the hereditary High Lords of Ireland. One is held by the King in his role as High Lord of Dublin, one is held by the Grand Abbot of Armagh (leader of the Irish Catholic Church) and one by the Prime Minister. The other twenty are given to those holding life titles.
