Everyday, Two seat fighters are launched off of carriers, have short 5'7" pilots, many of which play shirtless beach volleyball, and hit on their civilian instructors in class. Please donate the Two-Seat Fighter Federation, and help us end the abuse of Two Seat fighters...

Use of airships for COIN operations and unmanned high-altitude comms/SIGINT.

Also, the GWO Air Force lineup includes the ASF-14 Attack Super Tomcat as a primary naval multirole. What say you all on it? IIRC the primary reason the US Navy turned it down was because of cronyism and the DoD's fetish for funding projects it'll never use the decision that they should stay with, and expand, the F-18 fleet. The ASF-14 has almost nothing in common with the original F-14 but appearance, and had it been accepted, it'd be a new-build aircraft instead of using the old F-14 frames. Does anyone have any particular knowledge on it?

Additionally, we augment these with the swing-wing variant of the F-22 made in the Naval Advanced Tactical Fighter project, which was the same project that spawned the ASF-14.

On the airships question, US Army Intelligence (35M, I believe) is currently using small blimps for SIGINT (with USAF MC-12s), and as a camera platform.

Why using airships, nobody uses them in the military anymore if you got a damn reason.

Airship, dirigible, aerostat, there IS a difference. One uses a solid frame and was obsolete after the Hindenburg disaster, one is seen over sports stadiums, and one was used over London in WWII.

those are helium, pumped airships, there easily vulnerable, I was concern about who uses them in the military, most of them are plastic balloons and in civilian uses, and the ones that did use them in the military is ancient history, this is the 21st Century, TECHNOLOGY ROCKS!!!! :P

Alright, fly airships. Be aware that I arm my SPAAGs with either fuzed fragmentation shells or HEI shells. Also be aware that my older SPAAGs have M163 VADS on 'em, and will fuck most anything up, whether it's an airship or not.

I don't use airships, hell no, I use UCAVS a lot in my Air Force, n fact I use a lot of drones in my military and I still need to update all of them.

Alright, SPAAGs will still fuck up your drones, and cost less than missiles while doing it. (Reason that SPAAGs are good against drones: Drones are slow.)

Here you go.

They're all conflicting as to which exact variants had which exact features, though.

I personally use an upengined F-14 with built-in IRST and FLIR plus derivative of the AN/APG-71 (multimode with ground attack, AESA) as my sole carrier-based fighter.
Old radar types never die; they just phased array.

Mallorea and Riva should resign.
