CANON UPDATE (OOC):
I have given this a lot of thought and I have decided to do some major changes to the Walosian History Canon.

The largest change that I will be doing is the removal of the “Walosian-Khelsharian War of 2009” and the following abdication of Empress Liat as well as the removal of the character Liat completely. The reason why is because I have developed my nation into a more realistic fashion during the 2014-2015 era and after reviewing older post I see that the war and abdication of Liat is both unrealistic, doesn’t fit with the overall nation and is simply unprofessional.

What role does a stealth commercial aircraft have, and why does a transport aircraft have "patrol" duties?

1) Commercial aircraft have been militarised for decades.

2) It's possibly an MPA, or perhaps an ALBM carrier.

And how many of those have been stealth aircraft?

So, out of pure curiosity, and I know that this has been discussed before, but could someone explain to me why it is considered a bad idea to have an Su-47 in an air force on NS? I know that the aircraft was used just as a technology demonstrator for the Russian Air Force, but what are the other reasons?

Is there any reason, any reason at all you could think of for a landlocked nation to justify having VTOL aircraft? I ask for my sake. Since that thing combines VTOL with SAAB and that means cool.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

Because it never advanced beyond the tech demonstrator stage. This usually is not a good sign, for either the affordability, capabilities offered over existing aircraft, or actual failures of the design or shortfalls.

The Su-47's forward-swept wing concept is problematic, simplest description.

Shorter runways (if vtol/stol) so that if runways are attacked and damaged planes can continue to take off and land. West Germany looked at this for some planes right before the cold war ended, which then lend to there cancelation.

So. I'm wondering.

Most Ragon aircraft, fighter, air superiority and maybe attack aircraft, during and before the Gaian-Ragon war use a laser cannon, weighed about the weight of a 20mm autocannon.

So, how many of these Laser cannons that weight as much as a 20mm autocannon can and should be put on their aircraft?

As many as the number of 20mm autocannons that you could put on the same aircraft.

Note, these are mainly Eastern (mostly Russian) based military jets.

And they kind of focus on their fighters being fast and maneuverable multi-purpose jets, air superiority being heavier and bulkier and attack aircraft to be good at running away.

Unless you are in the 1950's before missiles become a thing one gun per aircraft is enough.

Okay.

Also, for the Charons, I'm going to use 25mm rotary railguns (35mm with Attack), terrible or good idea?

My advice is to look up real world aircraft on Wikipedia and come asking with questions about the specific details you do not understand afterward.

In that case, you literally should just clone a real world aircraft and go with that. Bottom line is that we simply can not explain everything to you.

No, I understand.

I won't speak falsehoods to you. It will take time and effort if you want to do these things right. And that is the reason why we can't do them for you. It would literally require us to set up an university grade lecture on the subject. Which none of us is qualified or has the time to do.

Still, not to discourage you, allow me to provide you with an encouraging example. Look at the date my account is registered. Roughly a week after that is when I started wanting to design a rifle. In fact, I wanted to design that specific rifle I ended up drawing. Remember that animated rifle I did? The cool one? That rendition is from the beginning of this year. So it only took me roughly 3.5 years to figure out how rifles work good enough to design one. So really, even though realistically aircraft are definitively more complex than rifles you should not worry. You'll get the hang of things in no time.
