What are you even trying to argue here? Danton is right; there aren't 60 blocks of F-16. That's not an opinion, that's fact. The block number refers to the variant and it's state of upgrade. The USAF didn't create the meaning of that term and how they use it is not different to what you'd call one of the classical literal meanings; a set of similar items.

I play around uncapped, it is more that if your playing within this circle of rather heavily invested realism group you should cap. Mostly because it is much easier to set up hard numbers with caps in place.

Not really. Oale exaggerates. Walking into a thread and zerg-rushing people with your 12+ billion pop and 100+ million troops is bad form, but then again so is trying the same with a smaller nation. Most of the time, your actual population won't make much of a difference. There are people who cap and people who do not.

I don't cap, but I only update my population up to its listed NS level every few months whenever I bother to sit down and update the statistics.

It's not, at all.
However, partaking in popcapping can help you to produce a "better" quality of an RP, and get you seen as being a "better" RPer.

There is no rule, of any sort (apart from those imposed by OPs, of course) that requires you to do this.
The game is still a part of the... game, after all.

Which means that half of the II community would disagree with you, which you are also downplaying. And strangely enough, 50% agreement is indeed not "universal." Capped vs. uncapped is a debate that's been raging for ages, and shows no signs of subsiding or reaching a final resolution. There is no requirement to cap, nor any real reason why capping inherently leads to better RP. A clumsy mass-deployment and ham-fisted attack is just as bad whether it's from a nation with 50 million, 500 million, or 5 billion citizens.

I'm from LA and on a couple of occasions I have sighted B-2s. At one point one was just circling over/near my town.

You guys are lucky, all that happens to buzz my city are a bunch of V-22s, CH-53s, AH-1s, or UH-1Ys. USMC struggles.

I have F/A-18E/Fs with heavy loading, C-2s, and E-2s taking off and landing above my head. My berthing is a few decks directly beneath 1 & 2 Cat. Yeah. Keeps you up at night. Suckers are loud.
