There are Siberian nomads in the northern-inner parts of Soled. These people account for about 20.000 in number, but their Tribal Territory, where they are free to live their traditional lifestyle, covers an enormous area.

There are Romani (gypsies) in Olwe, who still stick to the traveling aspects of their culture even to this day (except for the few who run the government in the territory of North Olwe, and therefore find staying in one place a necessary evil). We also have a few other nomadic cultures, though none as populous as the gypsies... there are well over a million Romani in Olwe, and the next most common type of nomad (Ryn) only number a few thousand within our territory.

The Federal Republic is home to several different nomadic populations, most often within specific States or regions of the Federal Republic. Notably, these include the populous nomad Zidabor groups of Borsovo (Although the State of Borsovo is also home to some other nomadic groups), the various groups of Kabaddi nomads in the State of Kabad (Ranging from small groups of desert Nomads in Mid and West Kabad, as well as some nomadic herders in the North), a few Onkundan Nomads (However, census data suggests that the nomadic population of Onkunda has shrunk considerably in recent decades, although the reasons for this remain unclear) and a small Romani population spread out across the States of Lidoste, Borsovo and Kabad, in addition to the Heartland States.

In addition, there are some small populations of Seafaring nomads that exist within the Federal Republic, almost exclusively in the State of Kagira. These nomads range from traditionally seafaring communities such as the Otohoy, to smaller groups of Kagiran's who live out at sea for professional or personal reasons; both groups play not-inconsiderable roles in local trade, maritime security, fishing and maritime search-and-rescue operations. Although the State of Kagira and the Federal Republic require the participation of their populations in population censuses, the Kagiran nomadic population is perhaps the most problematic factor in census data collection in the entirety of the Federal Republic, and to this day, groups such as the Otohoy leave a substantial factor of error in census data.

Inarguably the most well known and, more arguably, the most successful nomadic people in the Federal Republic are the Zidabors of Borsovo, although saying that all Zidabors are nomadic would be inaccurate as sedentary Zidabor communities are not uncommon. Zidabors have gained substantial cultural and political influence in Borsov society since the Liberation of Borsovo in 1982, with the popularity of the myths surrounding the Zidabor nomads leading many to romanticise Zidabor culture even outside the State of Borsovo, with some Zidabor cultural practices (Some of which are inventions of the media) taking on popularity amongst the youth of Borsovo. Like the Otohoy, but to a much lesser extent, the precise size of the nomadic communities of Borsovo can be hard to assess, however the martial culture of the Zidabors, combined with their standing contributions to the Armed Forces, have made them a much easier group to keep census data on than many other nomadic groups.

The Ambita people (Ambitak: Ambi-takto; Irish: Ambitac; French: Ambitá; Latin: Ambitium) are the only nomadic people native to Cill Airne. A Celtic culture that survived English and French colonialism. It is estimated that there are 20,000 Ambita people, though only 10-15,000 continue a nomadic life style.

Nomadic lifestyle was abolished in the Russenbert-era (1865-1872). Ferdinand Russbert, Imperial Chancellor of Baghanathria, and his government decided to put an end to the nomadic life of gypsies in the country. People of gypsy caravans were forced to leave their way of life, live in cities, or villages, and work in the industry, or farmlands. So, basically, the Russbert-government planned to integrate them in industrialized, modern society. It was successful: gypsy people either gave up their nomadic lifestyle, or left the country.
Now historians view this act as one of the more anti-democratic moves of the highly debated Russbert-era. People tend to see this act as a positive thing, because gypsy people successfully integrated into society, not causing further problems, and having proper housing, education, work, et cetera.
But, on the other hand, their traditions and language almost completely vanished since then.

Tibetan nomads, known as འབྲོག་པ། (ndrogba), live in the remote, high elevation grassland regions of the Tibetan Plateau. Nomads live either in black yak wool tents or in white canvas tents.

These are the venetians a nomadic culture that split from a bigger culture known as the Romans. But when Gig em Aggies decided to leave their home world the venetians decided to come along. The Venetians and the Council of Judges mainly leave each other alone but three times a year the Venetians and the elite of Gig em Aggies come together and throw a Carnival type festival. In the downtown Villa Del Rise. other interactions with the venetians include the military in which the council uses the group to gather intel and do raids.

Nomadic people in your nation

Postby Parhe » Mon Mar 10, 2014 5:25 pm

Certainly there are nomadic individuals but they have no single identity there is no ethnic or cultural group that tends to be known as nomadic. Parhe is home to many nations there were once nomadic but they have largely settled by the end of the seventeen hundreds.

The remnants of the Medenic Empire, a hunter-gatherer empire that was centralized in the current Belligosian land, who was defeated by the Infinite Army. Today, the direct Medenics, who are a total of 40,000, live as nomads on Belligosa's lands. Because we hate whining, we gave them a few more freedoms...

There are many nomadic groups, large like small, powerful like weak, but I'll name 4:

1. The Islanders (Or the Cunil): Their main area of influence being in the West Islands of the Dunham Archipelago, these nomads live on hunting and foraging and voyages in groups of 10-40. There are a total of 2000 Cunils or Islanders in the region and 10,000 Cunils in the Trade Federation's total area of influence.

2. The Skyloftian Clan: Their main area of influence being the sky (They inhabit old sky fortresses and airship wrecks), these nomads live on trading and small-scale foraging and voyages in groups of 10-100. There are a total of 7500 Skyloftian Clan Nomads in the region and 100,000 Skyloftian Clan Nomads in the Trade Federation's total area of influence.

3. Medenic Nomads: Their main area of influence being in the Northern Isles, the Northern Shore and the Medenic Mountains, these once sedentary nomads live on hunting, trading and foraging and voyages in groups of 100-1000. There are a total of 10,000 Medenic Nomads in the region and 500,000 Medenic nomads in the Trade Federation's total area of influence.

4. The Flock nomads: Their main area of influence being a single island in the Dunham Archipelago (King Terrence IV Island), these fairly primitve nomads live on hunting and foraging and voyages in groups of 5-20. There are a total of 500 Flock nomads in the region and 750 Flock nomads in the Trade Federstion's total area of influence.

La Gitanos (Alisonian Spanish: The Gypsies), literally the Gypsies (Note: That is their name, not derogatory, they have nothing in common with the Roma, it literally means 'The Travelers' when translated from Ancient Gypsy to Modern British English.) are a nomadic people who live within (and outside of) the Empire. They're an industrious sort with their own insular culture, language and spiritual beliefs. Mostly known as thieves and liars from pure and nonsensical slander most Gypsies are forthright and honest people who are slow to trust but loyal to their friends and loved ones. They travel vast distances across the majority of the Empire and Euro-Asia as well as elsewhere in large caravans that are usually extended family units.

Linguistically modern Gypsies are Hindi and they are ethnically Indian.

I also play badminton and will represent my nation in the next Olympic. At that time, I'll be most likely replaced by my roommate here, Arina. She works at the grocery store next to our apartment.

Why are you saying bad things about me, Rima? I am an author and I own that grocery store!

In Avaerilon, there is one group of nomadic people; the Ashlanders of Morrowind. The Ashlanders are Dunmer who choose to remain totally loyal to their ancestors and to the prophet Veloth, living in one part of the isle of Vvardenfell for a time, and then moving-on to a new location. They name reflects that fact that, unlike many Dunmer long ago, they chose to remain in the ashen wastes created by the titanic volcano, Myrnid Goroch (Red Mountain). Though persecuted under the Tribunal after the death of Nerevar, the Ashlanders saw a rise in their status when the Tribunal fell, and with the creation of Avaerilon in 793 enjoyed further protection for them and allowances to graze their guar and shalk herds over a wider area.

Image
An Ahemmusa camp, located in north-east Vvardenfell, Morrowind. The main camp of the Ahemmusa is in a former Daedric temple, Ald Daedroth

There are four main Ashlander peoples; the Urshilaku, the Ahemmusa, the Zaniab and the Erabenimsun. Each has their own customs and traditions under the scope of the greater Ashlander culture, and often choose to live in certain areas more than others; the Urshilaku are attached to north Vvardenfel in general, the Ahemmusa to the Grazelands, the Zaniab to the east, and the Erabenimsun to the south. They speak Dunmeri as their first language, but many, if not all, are fluent in Avaerilonian too. They worship the Daedra; Azrua in-particular, and are committed to a peaceful lifestyle, but heaven help the one who threatens them; Ashlanders are terrifying in war, and a dedicated Ashlander regiment of the Avaerilonian army exists.

Today, the Ashlanders get along well with their sedentary neighbours, and are often viewed in a very positive light; clean, natural living, and the suchlike. They do not pay tax, as per an agreement with the Crown, but do give a certain amount of produce and wares to the Crown. His Majesty the King, who was pronounced Nerevarine by the Urshilaku when he campaigned to win the favour of the people for the crown, is a Gulakhan in Ashlander circles; a position of esteem and respect, not often conferred on an Ashlander, let alone a Dunmer or other Avaerilonian.

The Kyrgyz nomads in Ruthenia are permitted to live their nomadic lifestyle as long as they do not break any laws and send their children to school. They used to have lower standards of healthcare due to their nomadic lifestyle though the government has set up health centres all across nomadic areas where nomads can come and get their check-ups.
