Pretty much. It's becoming more popular among both LEO's and CCW holders.

It's pretty sad, when I see beat cops carrying more personal firepower then what I carried on a daily basis in downtown Baghdad.

Well, outside of North Minneapolis, we don't see a whole lot of violent crime around here. Mostly just the occasional inept mugging or botched armed robbery.

Around here, wild animals are more of a threat then people are, thanks to the Government reintroducing Wolves and driving all the furry critters out of the mountains and into the streets.

The modern world disagrees with you, and find that you can carry more than enough AShMs that can kill ships. Cannons are far too short ranged compared to missiles, but longer ranged (although less accurate) than lasers.

Lasers, well, I'm not big on Longsword sized ships whose main weapon only has a range of twenty kilometres or so.

Trigg uses twelve as well:

Support

- Leader
- Grenadier
- DMR
- MG
- MG Assistant (x2)

Assault

- 2IC
- Automatic Rifleman
- Rifleman (x4)

Kiengir uses ten for standard infantry:

Squad A

- Leader
- MG
- MG Assistant
- Rifleman (x2)

Squad B

- 2IC
- MG
- MG Assistant
- Rifleman (x2)

But for the missiles you need the fuel for them as well. Thats another possible explosion waiting to happen. Where as cannon shells work similar, not the same, to your basic firearm.

Which means they need propellant as well, which is just as much at risk of exploding as the missile fuel.

An Infantry Section of the Corps of Infantry consists of eight individuals, divided up into two fireteams of four. Charlie, or the 'Assault' Fireteam is led by the Section IC, a Corporal. Delta, or the 'Support' Fireteam is led by the Section 2IC, a Lance Corporal. Despite being classed as either Assault or Support, both Fireteams are actually identical when on operations, giving the section the flexibility to use whichever is made best suited to a task by uncontrollable factors, such as the terrain or injuries. Of the weapons below, the first three are carried without question by the forces, however the missiles and rockets may be left behind by the section in their vehicles and will only be brought if thought necessary. Each Fireteam has an NCO (entrusted with command), a Rifleman (entrusted with the ATGM), a Grenadier (entrusted with the UBGL) and a Gunner (entrusted with the GPMG).

Weapons
* 6x KAE R1A2 Combat Rifle (.280 Kouralian), or 6x KAE L63A5 Rifle (.280 Kouralian)
* 2x KAE MG-2 GPMG (.280 Kouralian)
* 2x KAE UBML (40mm Low-Velocity Grenades)
* 2x KAE Modern Anti-Tank Device (150mm Anti-Tank, Top-Attack, Fire and Forget Missile)
* 4x KAE Light Anti-Structure Rocket (66mm HEAT Unguided Rocket)
Equipment
* 8x Dual-Role Radio
* 2x Type Three Personal Infantry VHF Set
* 8x Helmet Cameras
* 2x Battlefield Intelligence Hand-held System
* 8x Helmet-Integrated Low-Light Vision and Battlefield Intelligence System
* 1x Combat Soldier's Surveillance System
Ammunition
* 1,620x .280 Rounds (9x 30 round box magazines per NCO, Rfn and Gdr)
* 800x .280 Rounds (4x 100-round belt per Gnr)
* 28x 40mm UBGL Grenades of various types (20 per Grenadier)
* 10x Fragmentation Grenade (thrown) (2 per NCO, 1 per everyone else)
* 4x Smoke Grenade (thrown) (2 per NCO)
* 8x Rifle Grenade HE (two per NCO and Rfn)
* 8x Rifle Grenade HEAT (two per NCO and Rifleman)
The Equivalent of a 'Section' for most other formations sees it with a similar equipment, but usually without the explosives or such-like. For example, a section of Military Policemen will typically just carry carbine rifles with a pair of rifle grenades and a HE grenade per man, along with a pistol.

Your basic run of the mill squad in the kaiserliche heer:

Panzerjager Team
1x AT gunner
1x gunners assistant
Team leader

Base of fire team
Team leader
1x automatic-Rifleman
2x Rifleman

Assault team
Squad lead
1x Rifleman
1x grenadier

MG Team
MG gunner/team leader
Gunners assistant.

It may vary on what the team composition is, depending on the need.
