What are your troops issued for rain gear, especially for the more tropical or monsoonal climates out there? video relevant I'm thinking something along the lines of footed waterproof tyvek overalls, or an NBC suit without the capabilities. Breathability would be poor, but if it's either that or gangrene... A footed version would require two boots (one connected to the suit, and one for use without the suit,) but what else would be my options? That seems world's better than parkas, at which point I have to ask why IRL armies don't do something similar.

Mars dust is a lot more airborne, since there's no moisture (and less gravity) to keep it down. Plus, dust-storms.
Also, heat expansion is a bit of a concern since it gets pretty cold and there's less atmosphere for heat to disperse into.

Regarding firearms, how likely would a steel-reinforced poylmer bolt and other internals be to break under fire? I know the Heckle and Cock G36 has mostly polymer internals (carbon-fiber reinforced though, iirc) but still has a few problems regarding accuracy.

I would say pretty likely. There's a reason heat treated steel bolts are still used.

Martian dust is a fine as shit, everywhere, and a good part of it is always airborne. No conventional firearm would stand a chance.

You'd need to clean, and maybe repair the weapon every few shots.

Martian dust and soil, from what I believe, is more abrasive than that from Earth. Getting it in a rifle, which I guarantee will happen, will cause the dust to eat away at the metal with each working of the action quite significantly. The best thing to do would be to cover up as many holes as you can and not fire a lot, or just use a non-repeating weapon, like a break-action.

Or you could not go to Mars.

Honestly I think the ultimate space weapon would be some sort of repeating air rifle. You don't need that much force from your shots because you don't need to incapacitate your opponent, just rip his clothes. Every tear is an immediate casualty. An air rifle meanwhile would have many advantages. Since there is no ejection system at all there is absolutely no way for any dirt to get into the weapon aside of the muzzle. And the muzzle can be really small.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

The above post contains hyperbole, metaphoric language, embellishment and exaggeration. It may also include badly translated figures of speech and misused idioms. Analyze accordingly.
