The first female Prime Minister of Gylias was Aaén Janez, in office between 1976-1986 and 1986-1988. She is widely considered the worst Prime Minister of Gylias.

The first female President of Gylias was Anina Kaural-Bergmann, in office between 1992-2008. She is credited with raising the profile of the Presidency.

Yara Gregovich. New leader of the Incor Social Democrat Party, as her father who had served 2 10 year terms as president stepped down, even though he could have a third, and gave power to the party to Yara so she could be elected at the end of his second term. She was elected, and is current president.

In RPs I still use Vladimir Gregovich, her father as president, but I plan to eventually have it all-Yara

The first Queen of Carcorodine (all consorts of the previous Kings were not true Queens but rather Queen-Consorts (except one who was male and was a King's King-Consort)) was Her Majesty Enkyra I, who was also the fifth Monarch of Carcorodine. Like all Monarchs of the time before the rise of the Nation, she was pretty much irrelevant because of a lack of centralization. Her only notable traits were 1) being a Queen and 2) being the origin of the name Enkyra and all off-shoots. Similarly pathetic track records were common for Kings of the time as well.

The name Enkyra would later become truly significant when one of her great granddaughters was the Queen right after the Nation had been unified. Her Majesty Enkyra II the Webspinner is often viewed as the first true leader of the Carcorodine nation, as well as the third Queen. Her reign was notable for the fact that she managed to prevent the recently united coastal regions of Carcorodine from rebelling against the Nation. She prevented their secession through economic reforms, marry her offspring to the offspring of key nobles, and finally sending the military in to destroy any areas that did attempt secession. The Nation she created would eventually become heavily decentralized as later Monarchs proved less capable of managing all the different factions of the Realm, at least until the reign of King Arkatrek IV and his heir King Rezquirl II the Bloody, where the Nation would be unified again until Rezquirl II's death in battle (with no heir) and the declaration of a Republic by the panicked and nervous ex-advisors.

The nation's first female ruler was Queen Jaehwa of Josŏn, ruled from 180 CE until her death in 260 CE. She's not only the first female ruler, but the first monarch to ever rule the land of Yangsun, as at that time, there was no such thing as a structured government since 2800 BCE, where the first human-settled there. She was known through her tireless effort to consolidate her power as the monarch, to the extent that, she declared herself as a despot that was appointed by the One God, to lead the nation into its zenith. Furthermore, she proposed new sets of alphabets, calendars, festivals, clocks, laws, and other things, in which successfully influenced the current nation. Moreover, she insisted that the women's right had to be protected in accordance with the principles of Chanfuism, a prevailing doctrine that was created by the Matriarch of Jeongsun clan, Haejŏ. In summary, she was regarded as the national icon for women's leadership.

1658 - 1699, r. 1674 – 1699 Queen Hildegaard

Hildegaard ascended the throne at the age of 16 following the death of her father, King Sweyn II, in battle against the Lowlanders. Many of the Highland nobles chafed at the idea of a woman wielding the Sword of the monarchy. A few, led by the Baron of Turaida, staged an insurrection against the young queen. The rebels planned to place one of their own - Hildegaard's cousin, Gustavus - on the throne in her place. To the surprise and dismay of the barons, Hildgegaard personally led her army into battle. Her bravery soon won her support from those nobles who had originally opted for neutrality and the genuine affection of most Highlanders. Hildegaard finally defeated the rebellion in 1677, personally slaying the Baron of Turaida and Gustavus in battle on the Plains of Turaida.

The young warrior queen married Lord Dzirdis of Valmiera, a descendant of Ilmars, the son of Sweyn I, and the captain of her army, shortly after ascending the throne in 1674 and bore her first son, who later became King Sweyn III, while encamped with her army in 1675. Despite her enthusiasm for outdoors activity and her widely reputed stamina and physical endurance, the queen fell gravely ill in 1697. After two years of debilitating coughs, periodic fevers and great pain, Hildegaard finally died in 1699 at the age of 41.

The sword wielded by Hildgegaard at Turaida was presented as a gift to Princess Anna of Pantocratoria by Emperor David IV on the occasion of her marriage to Crown Prince Joseph.

Fionnghuala I, Empress of Strathy (799CE - 850CE, r. 823CE - 850CE)

The First Empress of Strathy, she took the throne at just twenty four years of age. Many nobles were sceptical of her reign initially, however, she did prove herself to be a competent ruler. She was largely considered to be fair and allowed many nobles the freedom to run their own lands without undue intervention, making her fairly popular amongst the nobility. Shortly after her accession to the Throne, she married Theodore X of Skerray, cementing Strathy's claim on the southern Kingdom's throne too. With Theordore she bore a son, Johannes - given a more Skerrian name to appeal to her new subjects. When Johannes took the Strathan Throne in 850CE and later the Skerrian Throne from his father, he would begin a long personal union between the two states.

All of this was largely possible due to Fionnghuala's political manoeuvrings prior to taking, and whilst on, the Throne. This is largely regarded as being the point at which the Strathan Empire truly began its progress to becoming a true global Empire. Indeed, when Skerray gained its independence - a sore day indeed for many Strathans - many statues of Fionnghuala throughout Skerray were torn down.

The Right Honourable Mairianna NicAsgaill Fellowes, Countess of Kingsport Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (2014-2017)

The Countess of Kingsport became the first female Prime Minister (being the fourth Prime Minister since the Restoration of 2003) in March of 2014 when the then Labour Prime Minister Lord Kelsine resigned on grounds of ill-health. Kingsport had been Kelsine's Chancellor of the Exchequer and was appointed as his successor to the role. Kingsport carried on with social and economic reform, but at a much slowed pace, with many in her own government beginning to doubt her. In April of 2017 she requested the dissolution of Parliament and called for a General Election. Whilst her party were returned as the largest overall party, they had lost their majority in the House of Commons, forcing a coalition with the Socialist Party. Facing dissent from within her own party and flack from the public for bringing the Socialists into government she was forced to resign in August of 2017. Her appointed successor was the Duke of Mealabhaich, the current PM.

Who was Your Nation's First Female Ruler?
  • The founders of the village which would eventually grow into the castle of Burnhart and eventually the Thaman kingdom over 3000 years ago were both women.
  • The first crowned monarch of the Thaman kingdom after the end of the Spiral War was Queen Susanna, daughter of Duke Sirius the Archon.
  • The first empress of the Thaman Nikopolian Empire was Kassiopea the first, she was also the last queen of the Thaman Kingdom and personally conquered Nikopol.
  • After the revolution that ended the monarchy in the empire (which had been renamed almost a century earlier), there were only two chancellors, the second of whom was a woman, Angela Stargard. She ended the short lived republican empire and refounded the Nikopolian Empire and Archoncy of Thama becoming its first empress and Archon of Thama. She proclaimed herself the second of her name, after one of the last empresses of the previous dynasty whom she shared a first name with. She later became the mother of the current emperor/archon, Archon Cedric.
There have been plenty of female rulers, roughly half of them in fact thanks to the lack of agnatic inheritance in Thaman history.

When did she come to power?
  • The Burnhart village was founded 5 years after the colonisation of Asnea, 3145 (Terran, less than 3000 Asnean) years ago.
  • Queen Susanna ascended to the throne in 0 PA, 1848 (Asnean) years ago.
  • Kassiopea conquered the kingdom of Nikopol and proclaimed herself Empress in 813 PA at the climax of the Mountain War.
  • Angela became the chancellor of the Empire in 1815, and she reinstated the monarchy with herself at the head in 1818.
Did her reign have any significance?
All of these reigns were significant.
  • The first founded Thama as one of the first entities after the disastrous colonisation.
  • The second started the conquest and unification of the subcontinent after the chaos of the Spiral War left in shambles.
  • The third expanded this conquest to its fullest extent.
  • The fourth ended a short lived and corrupt republic and brought back a fair and just state, as well as bringing the Empire to its most powerful and its greatest extent in history.

Who was Your Nation's First Female Ruler?
Empress Catherine I of Russia

When did she come to power?
8 Feb. 1725

Did her reign have any significance?
Catherine was the first woman to rule Imperial Russia, opening the legal path for a century almost entirely dominated by women, including her daughter Elizabeth and granddaughter-in-law Catherine the Great, all of whom continued Peter the Great's policies in modernizing Russia. At the time of Peter's death the Russian Army, composed of 130,000 men and supplemented by another 100,000 Cossacks, was easily the largest in Europe. However, the expense of the military was proving ruinous to the Russian economy, consuming some 65% of the government's annual revenue.[7] Since the nation was at peace, Catherine was determined to reduce military expenditure. For most of her reign, Catherine I was controlled by her advisers. However, on this single issue, the reduction of military expenses, Catherine was able to have her way. The resulting tax relief on the peasantry led to the reputation of Catherine I as a just and fair ruler.

Alexis Johnson was the first female Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Gandoor, she served for one term from 1958 to 1964 and was a member of the Gandoor Communist Party. She was also the first Prime Minister to be born after the establishment of the Democratic Republic in 1904, being born in 1911.

Prior to the modern Democratic Republic, we were an absolute monarchy (and later a constitutional monarchy) and our first female monarch was Nzarina Rebecca I, who reigned for 76 years from 1741 to 1817, being the longest reigning Gandoorese monarch. During her reign, she officially replaced the non-decimal Gandoorese pound with the decimal gdyn in 1779, which remains the official currency of Gandoor to this day, and abolished slavery in 1783, freeing an estimated 11,000 people held in slavery.

The first female President of the Federation of Lillorainen was Henriette Rostrup - in office from 1987 to 1989. Her most notable action was revising the draft of the State Constitution of Lillamala, which got founded as the 9th state within her rule. Due to the short time she was in charge, she was far less influential on Lillorainen's history than her (conincidentally also female) successor Marie Seelscheid.
Since Lillorainen's geography is currently being overhauled a 'tiny' bit, most information on it posted before December 12, 2018, is not entirely reliable anymore. Until there's a new, proper factfile, everything you might need to know can be found here. Thank you. #RetconOfDoom (Very late update, 2020/08/30 - it's still going on ...)

Corazon Aquino

Maria Corazon "Cory" Sumulong Cojuangco Aquino (January 25, 1933 – August 1, 2009) was a Filipina politician who served as the 11th President of the Philippines and the first woman to hold that office. She is widely accredited as the Mother of Asian Democracy. The first female president in the Philippines, Aquino was the most prominent figure of the 1987 Populace Power Revolution, which toppled the 20-year corruptive rule of President Ferdinand Marcos and brought democracy back to the Philippines, although there is an allegation of several dictatorial charges. She was named Time magazine's "Woman of the Year" in 1988. Prior to this, she had held the office of the Governess of Tarlac. She is the leader of the world's most successful non-violent and bloodless peace revolution for democracy against a dictatorial regime, with her "Yellow Revolution" inspiring other color revolutions all over the world.

═───╡❖╞────────═ Female Rulers of the Freehold of Ephyra ═────────╡❖╞───═

From the foundation of the Freehold in 479 CE, July 16th, to the present day, no woman has ever been granted ruling status of the Freehold. Women, though if freeborn citizens are in possession of rights ensuring their protection, right to hold property, and dispose of their own finances as they see fit, are not suitable for rule. Women possess a biological disloyalty to the in-group as part of their reproductive urges, which seek out the most competent mate regardless of tribe. This pursuit is entirely counter-intuitive to the very idea of nationhood and affiliation to a common identity. What is more, if women are permitted such free sexual choice they will choose to form harems, rather than maintain the far more socially stable monogamy of modern states, as initially laid out by civilisations such as Rome and Iron Age Selia, before the Freehold emerged.

In essence, women have never been the builders or maintainers of nations because their very biological instinct is hardwired to reject such standards. Whilst not every men is of course a born leader, and a nation should evidently have checks to prevent men who cannot lead from taking position, the appointment of women to such positions will only ever result in the promotion of sexual liberation and abandonment of responsibilities, a failure which comes as allowed by men, but embodied by women.

Women in the Freehold are, like men, instilled early on with a sense of national duty as to be performed according to their sex, and women play no role in politics. They do not cast votes, they do not run for offices, and they do not even stand in the Senate chamber unless invited to do so. If left unchecked, women are like the nymphs of myth. Amorous, uncontrolled, and through nature but not through malice, antithetical to civilisation. Rampant feminine interest is chaotic, and must be checked by the order imposed by the nation, ruled by men.

Before the Freehold however, numerous kingdoms existed in what is divided into two eras; pre-Collapse and post-Collapse, though this is not a contemporary division of the time. Pre-Collapse nations were those that existed before the Late Bronze Age Collapse of the 12th to 11th millennium BCE. The states of Selia in this time period are long and ancient, and due to their structure were largely resilient to the types of life-cycles seen in nations after the collapse. A number of prominent women, ranging from noble born ladies, to daughters and wives of kings (few peasantry are ever known of) carried certain influence and power. There is no known example however of an actual ruling queen accepted legitimately. In two cases, women attempted to lay claim to the kingship of a city. In the former, the city was besieged by its rivals, and the queen's failure to aid her people resulted in her betrayal, and the opening of the gates to the armies seen as liberators. In the latter, it is believed the people of this city remembered the lesson from last time. In a legendary story, the queen's rule lasted just five days before the palace was broken into and she was slain.

Post-collapse, the most significant kingdom was the Kingdom of Ephyra, from the city of the same name, the city that now functions as the etymological root and the capital of the Freehold of Ephyra. Ephyra did not own all of Selia however, and a ruling queen is noted around the middle of the 6th century in the region of Aekilia, though exactly from which city she ruled is of dispute due to destroyed records in the Roman conquest.
The queen herself is known in the histories as Irylla. Little is known of her reign over than it lasted some eight years. It is believed Irylla took power after the death of her elder brother, Vaehmon, and though no records exist to confirm, the only way her rule would've been accepted would've been through the killing of her nephew, who disappears from records roughly a year into Irylla's reign.

Irylla is believed to have launched a war against another city-state in Aekilia, a war which she lost. Irylla is mentioned as having been forced to surrender the throne, but no mention of her death comes until about two years later, signifying she was not killed in conquest but later, possibly to afford time for the people to accept new rule.

The emergence of a feminist group, the Selian Suffrage Shift, is reflective of a certain immoral behavioural growth amongst the upper classes of the Ephyral, with some support from the lower classes, but very little overall. The state and people remain largely opposed to any such changes. The day a woman becomes leader of the Freehold is the day the Freehold begins to die.

She is the first woman and millennial to have served as an elected emperor. She is a constitutional, titular sovereign of the Kingdom of Alexandria, and previously served in the Electoral College representing Alexandria from 2013 to 2016.

Garnet was born in the Grand Duchy of Dali, Southeast Alexandria, three years after the Dalian parliament had passed the Civil Rights Act, enshrining the rights of LGBT, racial, and religious minorities to reign as sovereign of that country, the last to do so of the nineteen countries. Raised largely in Dali, isolated from the confines of royal glamour and life of the capital Royal Alexandria, Garnet also spent one year of her childhood in Argentinstan. After graduating from the Royal Alexandria College of Medicine, she worked as a full-time volunteer doctor and part-time community organiser in Diarcesia. In 2007 Garnet applied and won the Ardenfontein Scholars, a title given to promising young graduates in the nineteen countries, allowing her to take a seat in the World Assembly to represent Yohannes as a member of the World Assembly Office of the Nineteen Countries.

When her mother the then Queen of Alexandria Brahne voluntarily abdicated her throne to give way for her only child and daughter, Garnet became the titular sovereign of Alexandria, acquiring the title Queen of Alexandria as its thirty-fifth symbolical, constitutional monarch. Garnet represented the Fourteenth District of Alexandria when she ran for its allocated Electoral College seat in 2012. Garnet received empire-wide attention the following year, with her unexpected primary win, her well-received Christian Democratic National Convention keynote address, and her landslide February election to the Electoral College, becoming the first millennial and youngest woman in imperial history to do so. In 2015, Garnet was hurriedly nominated as a temporary Emperor by the Christian Democratic Party Committee, to replace the then Emperor Daniel Westernmost, who passed away mysteriously whilst holding office. After a close primary campaign against William of Shiring, she won the nomination and was automatically inaugurated as temporary Emperor for the Christian Democratic Party on March 2016.

Garnet finished her brief, non elected temporary term in December 2017 with a 61% approval rating. She announced her intention to run for Emperor for the 2018 election since July 2016. Garnet won the imperial election, making her the first empire-wide elected Yohannesian Emperor of the millennial generation, and the first woman to do so. As the great-granddaughter of Yohannes IV the Duke of Mooria, who was of part Moorian descent, and Nishizaka Mino the Princess of Nomura, who was of part Nomuri descent, it also made her the first person of traceable minority descent to hold the Office of the Emperor.
