The bitcoin and other crypto-currencies are outlawed; the government considers them as vehicles for organized crime and treats them as such even to the extant of using soft power to turn other nations against them.

Cryptocurrencies are treated as a liquid asset, like stocks and bonds, for tax reporting purposes. They are not recognized as a valid currency.

Under Carlosian law, cryptocurrencies have been outlawed since 2014. Within Carloso itself, it is illegal to purchase any goods or services with any currency other than the Carlosian dero (D£).

Private currencies (known in TurtleShroom as "Scrip") are wholly lawful and may be used by anyone willing to accept them as legal tender. The only requirement is that they have a formal exchange rate with the Skillet, which is the national currency of TurtleShroom.

This longstanding tradition has been a problem in fighting the threat of crypto-currency. In the end, the state threw its hands up and said it was allowed as long as it complied with the exchange laws.

If you own a computer and know how to access them then anyone may own them and use them without government interference however the Tribal leaders who know of it are against it and view it negatively however some who know about it are either indifferent or see it as a potential opportunity economically but they are very few. Bearly any of the tribal leaders know of it though about 12 of them have heard of it and of those 12 3 at most have the view of indifference or supportive. The tech-savvy youth who know of it have some themselves and buy stuff online with no government regulation.

Officially crypto-currencies are banned and transactions are only permitted with people's shikels or ration tickets. However, the government is believed to secretly operate accounts that utilize bitcoins for its overseas financial operations.

They are only allowed if there is "transparency of possession", that is if the State and People know how much you possess at all times, and you must provide information and verification on all transactions. In other words, we take the 'crypto' out of the crypto-currency, defeating the purpose.

Most proponents of crypto-currencies would probably see this as a de-facto ban.

All Crypto-currencies were banned under Dictator Bastian Heinrich. Newly elected President Hagop Petrosyan will soon lift the ban.

Correct. It may only be added that they are commonly used by international criminals.
