Legal Religions In Your Nation

Postby South East Europe » Thu Dec 10, 2009 7:45 pm

What are the legal religions in your nation?

The legal religions in my nation are Judaism, Islam, Catholicism, most forms of Protestantism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Shintoism, Taoism, Baha'i, Sikhism, Zoroastrianism, Unitarian-Universalism, Animism, Jainism, and Confucianism

P.S. Atheism and Agnosticism are not religions, they are a lack of religion.

The UAWC has complete freedom of religion. We have banned Scientology, however, as we see it as more of an illegitimate business than a religion.

We have these! :) Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Taoism, Bhuddism, Suhia, Baha'i, and lots more. However, we banned Scientology in 1978, after a failed Gold Revolution, which the Leader, Jared McKenzie, who follows Scientology and kidnapped and held Fredius hostage for 2 years.

My nation only publicly allows a strict teaching of the Holy Archon. Any other blasphemous religions are false (OOC:I don't honestly think like this I hope you know, I'm atheist)

All religions are "legal" in Skibereen.

The Orthodox Church of Skibereen, is not a State religion but merely named such for disseminating itself from the Roman Church, and Eastern Orthodox Church.

Skibereen has a large Muslim population(predominately Sunni, as well as Wadi Rum/ Wadi Rum is a fictional school of Islam created by me that contrasts Wahhabi).

Hindu devotees out number Buddhists.

...The Orthodox Church has a long history of peaceful co-existence with Islam and Hinduism.

The Confederacy recognizes no religion, all religions are banned. And the crime for membership of a religion is 15 years hard labour

All religions are legal so long as they do not engage in terrorist actions. No religions currently practiced in or ever practiced in Alexlantis as of yet have been found guilty of such crimes.

In accordance with the Callosian Constitution, the Democratic Republic of Callosia neither formally promotes nor condemns any organized religion. The Second Democratic Congress enforces a strict separation of church and state where applicable, and refuses to recognize the Church of Scientology as a legitimate religion. It is our belief that true churches do not deceive and extort their followers and have an army of lawyers to justify their illegal activities.

Religion isn't a statutorily recognized criteria in Skeptikosia.

What few religions exist are corporate entities and are taxed appropriately, same as everybody else.

In Meinverden, there is general disdain for religious beliefs; many believe that any attempt to metaphysically explain life or find any metaphysical meaning in the universe is simply absurd. The government of Meinverden promotes no religion. Our education system teaches children about nihilism and absurdism, focusing on promoting a sense of individual meaning and self-realization. As such, the majority identifies itself as irreligious. It is not unusual for irreligious sentiment to push for restraining laws on religious belief and practice, depending on the general will at the time.

Anyway, religions are largely free to preach and practice provided that any tithes collected remain with the establishment for grounds-keeping, wages, charity, utilities, etc. This prevents the money from being sent to higher and higher levels of theological bureaucracy, especially religious figures and homelands abroad. Charging members for the services provided is illegal; thus, buy-in cults are banned. Actions that break any laws, civil or criminal, are naturally illegal. "Freedom of Religion/Belief/Faith" is not a valid legal argument. Active promotion or solicitation of religious beliefs or organizations is illegal. Do not pass "go." Do not collect $200.

The unofficial religion is money of any and every shape and denomination.....As long as it's worth something.

As long as organized religions also pay a tithe to the Holy Order of Specie that can practice what ever they want as long as it doesn't involve human sacrifice.

Homicide bombers are defined as human sacrifice.
Capitalism is just Darwinism with money.

All religions are legal in The Teccorri Republic, except for Scientology, which, as stated above, is not a religion. It is an illegitimate business.

Atheism is heavily frowned upon, as well.

Religious organizations are legal within Letat insofar as they avoid exploitative practices and eschew faith-based violence. Most Letatian religious organizations fall under one of three authorities, the National Mahayana Singha (Buddhist), the Letatian Archdiocese (Roman Catholic), or Lutheran Church Letatian Synod (Lutheran). A solid third of Letatians have no religious affiliation.

Notably forbidden groups are the Church of Scientology (though the Scientology FreeZone is permitted to operate) and the Supreme Namo Amitabha Bodhi cult, a Buddhist personality sect and terrorist group native to Letat.
