It's...outdated to say the least. The Boars,like there real life counter parts, are farmers, not tank designers and factory workers.

It was built in underground factories, with the little people who understood how tanks work making them.

It was a streak of luck that they found a tank designer that sympathized with them.

Honestly under those conditions I find it unlikely that they could make anything resembling a 1930's tank, let alone a 50's one or anything dangerous to modern vehicles. Just casting all the steel would require an industrial base that you won't have. Not to mention any electronics, optics (yes, you need sights even if they are just regular telescopes) and other stuff. You'd be better off just building technicals with what ever recoilles rifle you can scrounge up bolted to the back.

On that note. Here is what happens when people without a decent industrial base try to build tanks.

Honestly speaking if you don't have the industrial capacity to build these vehicles you don't have the capacity to keep them running. Fuel you could even scrounge up but spare parts and ammo are going to run out quickly. And without those it's not too long before even the best of vehicles is reduced to being a static pillbox rapidly running out of things to shoot.

I don't know what kind of war you are fighting here but it sounds to me as if it was more of an insurgency than a proper head on conflict. And in those, tanks and aircraft would be more of a hindrance to you than they would be of use.

Well, the Boars take over the planet, mainly because so many Volunteers defected or surrendered, that it was easy.

And I imagine they would hid stuff like tanks and aircraft,if any remain after the initial engagements with GDF reinforcements, and stick to infantry combat.

Olifant could probably take on mid tier T-72s and win, but the more modern T-72s would probably wreck the Olifant's shit. Any modern tank would wreck the Olifant, but the Olifant doesn't need to fight modern tanks, it fights monkey models and 60s era tanks.

You will still run out of RWS-mounted ammunition, and manually loading more of it is the only way to fix the problem in that case. As Akasha you said, having an internal supply nearly defeats the purpose of using such a unit. Having a limited but low-profile allotment of ammunition stored on the RWS itself is likely the most practical way to take care of these problems.

Yes, this is actually a thing in the Gaiaverse, there's also still bayonet charges.
