Why is the machine gun backwards btw? Was it just slewed that way and left there?

It's just thrown backwards for easy access given the open top.
It's a Type 64.

A 76mm main gun?

For some reason that brings back memories of a RTS idea I had, where one of the Tanks ability was "ramming speed"

It just rammed the target and totaled it.

Yom Kippur- Western Support.

Other two- iunno, will read, probably something to do with Arab infighting.

Western support did not even arrive until Israel was already winning, and it was hardly decisive.

Trying to argue that any conflict is begun or ended by simple economic dynamics over the course of three or four pages is nothing more than an exercise in stubbornness.

Two squads would be the bare minimum for fire-maneuver. Three squads lets you do fire and maneuver with a reserve element. It might be useful for a commando unit or something, but idt it would be good for a line infantry platoon. Four might be better because futuresquad is super tiny, but that would mean getting rid of organic nuclear weapons capability.

Factionalism was part of it, quite. But also try tactical incompetence and poor morale.

Why wouldn't reserve element be useful for line platoon?

It is useful, that's why line platoon has it. The useful comment was directed at two squads.

I think the confusion comes from the fact that your platoon appears to have four maneuver elements, three of five men and one of three. Which seems rather small to me. Even if every man is more lethal than MT, I'd still rather I had three maneuver elements of eight and a little AT team too.

The mechanised infantry company has several megatons.

The CAAT (Combined Arms Armour Team, the smallest tank-infantry combined arms unit) has megatons equivalent to an Ohio-class equipped with Trident C4s. A little more, actually, it's about 20 MT. It consists of a platoon of main battle tanks in support of a GEV-mobile infantry company.

Mobile Infantry would be considered light expeditionary forces, like the USMC or 82nd Airborne are today.

Nevermind, carry on then.

Are the main battle tanks MBT-70's by any chance?

They're very similar.
