Background

Discovered nearly 900 years ago, Kein, or Matiko as it was called by the native inhabitants, was a stunning array of vivid natural features, a huge amount of natural resources, and a massive population of local tribes, all contained in a massive cavern the size of the US hidden underground beneath the Mexican Gulf. The sunlight and fresh air were all provided through mirrors and vent systems. The European settlers that discovered it wasted no time, setting up shop and colonizing the land. Unlike all the other nations of the world though, they did not take the land, but it was rather given to them in exchange for goods and services.

The Europeans of this land did not kill off the natives, as the natives were immune to many of the European diseases. Instead, there was a healthy respect between the two peoples, and the nation of Kein benefited from the process. There was many new inhabitants arriving monthly and new regions of the cave system were tunneled and bridged to make room for the arrivals.

Over time, less and less people came to the paradise, and by 1860, it was all but forgotten. The people still had trade, but it was with other small nameless nations. That is, until approximately 1962. Even though through trade, they had some technology, they had no idea that there existed such things as wars and military. They were all peaceful and thus had no idea of what was in store.

In 1961, a Cuban search boat found some small ships. Some villagers led them by accident to the small cavern leading into Kein. Upon their arrival, these men were greeted as friends and welcomed into their city. The Cuban men learned much about the city, taking note of the huge resources and lack of military. They traded their fish and gold in exchange for timber, oil, and freshwater. They soon departed for Cuba.

Months went by without word and the people of Kein went back to their lives, but on May 5, 1962, a small division of the Cuban military attacked the metropolis. With no defense or weapons, the country was taken in a matter of hours. Many were murdered. This was known as the Ganzopean War, 'The Dark Times', or 'The Mass Extinction'. Only 5,000,000 of the 8,000,000,000 that once inhabited this lush utopia survived.

After years of oppression and dictated rule, the Kein nations revolted and, after seizing some weapons stores, killed the Cuban overseer. The nation was in chaos. A leader known as Jahmal took over, but he was assassinated just as he was about to get Kein on its feet again. By now, the world had started taking notice of the nation, but left it to its own struggles. Many emigrated to the place, vying for a chance at rule. The nation now reached 285,955,000 people.

Many struggles ensued, as everyone wanted land of their own. Eventually, agreements and concessions were made, creating the original five Kein nations, called Ganzopi Kein, Lena Kein, Rejeh Kein, Benacerraf Kein, and Matiko Kein. This peace held firm a couple years, but it was not to last. Eventually, Rejeh Kein had to expand, being the only nation not on a waterway. It managed to win many battles, but lost to Ganzopi Kein. Many more great wars were waged inside the cavern, with much loss.

Times were tough, so the people of Rejeh separated, splintering into many different nations. Around this time, many people started taking advantage of the lawlessness of the land. Extremists from America, India, various Middle-Eastern countries, Russia, China, and Ireland immigrated to the land, hoping to create a rule of their own. More and more of the cavern was mined, bridged, tunneled, and drilled, creating much more room. By now, there were a total of nine nations:

Ganzopi Kein - Lena Kein - Rejeh Kein(what was left of, anyways) - Benacerraf Kein - Matiko Kein - Shalakistan - Ierland - Tabina - and Crezit Mestizo.

Things kept on deteriorating, quickly evolving into genocide. By now every nation, excluding Matiko Kein, was either authoritarian or anarchic. People were murdered freely, entire cities burned alive, children sold as slaves...yeah, it got pretty bad. And not just 'Somalia' bad, oh no, more like 'The Plague' bad.

Finally, a revolutionary leader by the name of Emmit Dinei amassed a large force in Ganzopi Kein, overthrowing the autocratic rule. The system of government was changed to democratic socialism with limited capitalism. He also instituted the first prison in the region, making it one of the first countries with low crime rates. Much change was undergone in a very short time, which also added to the unrest.

Emmit eventually fell out of favor with the people, letting the rule move on to Nickolai Divoski. After renaming the country Gratis Kein, he started on a number of peace missions to settle the violence in many neighboring countries. Lena Kein was the first to fall, the dictator forced to flee the country. Benacerraf Kein was the second and last to topple their authoritarian rule in favor of democracy. However, many still felt that Nickolai Divoski was not doing enough to stop the violence. At election time, they fell in favor with a much more aggressive leader.

Asaki Vi was an immigrant from South Vietnam, trying to escape a losing war going on there. At first she was against violence, instead campaigning for peace. But once she found out her family had been murdered in the My Lai massacre (see 'Vietnam War' wiki), she cracked. Mid-race, her campaign changed radically. She began using slogans like 'Exterminate the Exterminators' and 'Freedom for All' and 'Change We Need'. In the end, she won the election by landslide, renaming the country Arkinimat Kein. After taking office, she immediately began campaigns against all of her neighbors. Much was brought about by this new militant attitude, one of which was war. The Vi Campaign, a war lasting fifteen years, helped expand the borders dramatically. Arkinimat Kein grew to almost three times its initial size.

After a time, the people began to grow tired of war, they wanted peace, and so did many of the other nations in the region. Finally, the people decided that Vi was not a leader that they wanted, so they held a mid-term election. Vi was defeated by a man named John Mikertaz. He did not rename the country, rather left it as Arkinimat Kein. Arkinimat Kein went through a period of diplomatic regression. Not in the economic sense, but physically. Years of war had angered Arkinimat Kein's neighbors, causing great unrest. John tried to negotiate a peace bargain, but failed.

Time had been kind to Kein, with technological advances rapidly being reached due to the wars, the economy was golden (almost literally), and the people were experiencing at time of prosperity. They were the first nation in the area with fusion power, with John Mikertaz ordering a 90 mile wide fusion reactor, housed underneath the capitol city. They were doing wonders with themselves, but their new isolationist attitude was not looked on with affection by the other nations.

In the summer of that year, Arkinimat Kein was attacked by most of its neighbors almost simultaneously. Many lives were lost with Arkinimat Kein losing chunks of territory each battle. Fed up with the hostility, John Mikertaz authorized the building and launching of three hydrogen fusion bombs, one dropped on Malus, the capital of Benacerraf Kein, one dropped on Sematlye, the capital of Lena Kein, and one dropped in the Caza region of Shalakistan. After this huge display of power, the other nations surrendered.

John Mikertaz reclaimed the territory they had lost, became the overseer of most of the neighboring nations, and brought a time of peace to the land. Of course, there always is someone ready to ruin the times. Nasser Rivaj, a Shalakistani communist with extremist views, assassinated John Mikertaz while he was giving a speech to the people of Lena Kein. International outrage immediately followed, with many factions splitting into different factions.

Arkinimat Kein was renamed Mikertaz Kein after their fallen leader.

Lena Kein split into two factions, the people of Lona Kein and the peoples of Durkadurkastan.

Rejeh Kein collapsed, sparking a revolution that resulted in invasion by Crezit Mestizo. After Crezit Mestizo captured Rejeh Kein, it was renamed Crezit Kein.

Benacerraf Kein had a military coup, creating both Diones Kein and Gates Kein. Diones Kein was a strange, evil place, while Gates Kein quickly became the economic capital of TSNOK.

Matiko Kein changed little, as they tried to be separate from the international community.

Shalakistan has divided into many different factions, each with their own views and people. The Durkadurkastani Empire, D E A T H C U L T, Sherpderpstan, Balakadakastan, Sherpaderpastan, and The Great Sea Dweller all commanded their own sliver of land.

Ierland split between many warring Irishmen, creating a handful of Irish states, like Irish Civil War Vets, Celtic warrior druids, and Rural Ireland.

Tabina was the largest and most diverse country. As such, it witnessed the most hardship and bloodiest battles. The country was rocked by riots, protests, bloody disputes, and finally, civil war. They eventually shattered into The Violet Goddess, The Absinth Empire, Soveit Rusha, Albino Dragon, Unimaginable Happiness, and No Restrictions. During this time, the Te GI, a nomadic nation, arrived in the region near Lena Kein.

Shortly after all of this commotion, the people of Crezit Kein reacted to the autocratic and isolationist government, creating a faction called Gratis Volkere. They managed to annex several districts, but still are fighting the others.

Lena Kein and the Durkadurkastanii Empire have been bitter enemies since their split, and several conflicts have been fought between them. The latest conflict ended in a close defeat for the DKDK forces, causing a lasting ceasefire. Tensions are still high, though.

Mikertaz Kein(MK){Me-Cure-Taz Kine}-

Overview

Mikertaz Kein is a democratic utopia, as its name states. It spans roughly the same area as the country of Germany. Mikertaz Kein has had quite the rough start, forming out of a toppled dictatorship, Mikertaz Kein was founded as the exact opposite of a dictatorship, instead focusing on extensive political freedom with an abundance of civil rights. While we may not be perfect, 'We're working on it'!


Nature and Population Density
The Mikertan landscape is a vivid array of features, including the beautiful forest-littered urban region of the central region ,the great mountains and rocky plains of the eastern region, the frozen tundra of the northeastern province, the mild deserts covering northern region, the blistering deserts of the northwestern territory, the marshy wetlands of the western region, the lake covered fertile lands of the southwestern region, the fertile hilly valleys of the southern region and the flat grasslands of the southeastern region.

Central Region - ~16% of the population live here. The land resembles southern California, USA.
Southeastern Region - ~14% of the population resides here. This land resembles Illinois, USA.
Eastern Region - ~10% of the country live here. The land resembles central to southern Colorado, USA.
Northeastern Province - ~3% of the population live here. The land is similar to southern Alaska, USA.
Northern Region - ~9% of the population live here. The land resembles Texas, USA but colder.
Northwestern Territory - >1% of the population live here. The land resembles Saudi Arabia.
Western Region - ~12% of the population resides here. This land resembles southeastern Louisiana, USA.
Southwestern Region - ~13% of the population lives here. This land resembles Vermont, USA.
Southern region - almost 21% of the country lives here. It resembles central California, USA.

Federal Region (Azamal) - >1% of the country. This is located in the middle of the central region. It completely urban, with only a few small parks.


Politics
Tired of Autocratic rule, the nation of Ganzopi Kein was born. This eventually formed into Mikertaz Kein. Beginning as a country escaping dictatorial rule, Mikertaz Kein was founded on a solid constitution, ensuring that all of its citizens are guaranteed freedom and rights. This also provides for the system of government, a direct democracy. In this system, operating things on a massive scale is almost futile, considering the size of the country and the diverse state of the populace and their individual problems.

Because of the difficulties of Direct Democracy, Mikertaz Kein is divided into five 'state' districts, North, South, East, West, and Central. State governments are made up of a governor and a state legislature. The governor is elected out of the state legislature by the people. The state legislature is elected from local districts, which anyone can run for.

The federal government is small, but influential. The federal government of Mikertaz Kein is located the city, Azamal, which is in the center of the country, as part of the central region. It is considered the 'federal district', as it is very large. The current leader, called the 'Kein' is Ron Steric. His official title is 'Kein Steric', a member of the West District People's Party.

Political parties are not really much in federal government, as all federal members are chosen from one of the five general regions, North, East, West, South, and Central. Anyone may run for state legislature under any party. Parties are allowed to form alliances and run one candidate under them. So, theoretically, if someone from a specific party is endorsed by all the other parties, those parties form together becoming one. This is the way federal parties are made.

All laws are voted in by the public, through electronic voting, held every month One day a month, all businesses except government buildings are closed for a 'Voting Day'. Internet is a government service, so all citizens are able to vote if they choose to. All laws are decided by the people, passing as long as the number of people supporting the bill is not less than those opposing it. If it is a federal law, it passes as long as three of the five General Districts support it.


Populace-
There are still many immigrants, despite the constant conflicts with other Kein nations, so MK is a diverse nation. There are people coming in from other nations constantly. Only about 11% of the people are actually of Matikan descent. The populace is very central in the political sense, but tends to lean more liberal.

Civil Stability-

After going through a few leaders and having a radical political overhaul, the nation of Mikertaz Kein is stable for the most part. There are few protests, with most centering on the environment and politics.


Resources-(In order of abundance...)
The country is highly abundant in most natural resources due to its array of natural features. The diverse territories bring in many resources, all of which are available on the international market. Trade is conducted by individual companies, and as such is not involved with government. There are few federal limits on trade, but regions can place their own restrictions. It is wise to check with the individual representative of each region.

Resources include the following, ordered from most abundant to least abundant.

Iron, Gold, Silver, Uranium, Phosphorous, Titanium, Oil and Petroleum, Freshwater, Carbon, Silicon, Diamond, Sodium, Cattle, Selenium, Enriched Soils(and thus crops), Dexitum(a lightweight titanium-like metal used in MK's armor), Timber, Fish, Copper, Radium, Zinc, and Thulium.


Technology-

We have much of the same technology as the rest of the modern world, with a few significant advances. This country is rated as ten years advanced. We have natural energy productions, fusion power, an extensive space program, and many small advances in modern technology like cell phones, computers, and automobiles.

Due to our location, we are almost entirely powered by natural means. Solar, Wind, Sea, and Water power are our biggest. There is very little public fuel use, as many automobiles are electric or solar and most energy is produced by fusion power plants. Companies are required to be at lease 75% naturally powered unless they purchase carbon credits or get a waiver signed by legislature. Our military is the largest user of fossil fuels, with airlines and companies making plastic close behind.


Leaders, Past and Present:
Emmit Dinei - First leader of MK, called Ganzopi Kein back then.
Nickolai Divoski - A good leader, but not very confident. Changed name from Ganzopi Kein to Gratis Kein.
Asaki Vi - A loud, aggressive woman who is responsible for the vast territory we control today. Changed name to Arkinimat Kein.
John Mikertaz - Died in office. Introduced direct democracy, which is still in place today. So popular that the country was renamed after him by public vote.
Mira Freizas - She succeed in revitalizing the economy, but her authoritarian ways had her outed by public vote.
Stiijak Minda - A great leader, responsible for the success of Black Kein and ARK Industries. Unfortunately, once the Black Kein inception speech was made, he was assassinated.
Ron Steric - A calm and collected man, he rarely displays emotion. He was the vice president, and was voted in by the public after the Minda assassination.


Capital:
Azamal is the capital city, and spanning the entire 100 sq. mile Federal Region. Azamal dominates the surrounding landscape with its giant buildings, stunning monuments, a large population, and a very intricate public transportation service. With nearly 13 million residents, the city of Azamal is 100 sq miles and contains some of the most daring advancements in public transportation.

The entire city is made up of interlacing buildings, connected by monorail lines. There are multi-level freeways between the buildings for private transport. Try to imagine New York City, but with less streets, thousands more skyscrapers, and This is where all federal buildings are located and headquartered. This city houses all members of the federal government as well as many citizens who choose to live here.


Economy:
The Mikertaz Kein economy is massive, both in size and strength. There are more than 5,000,000 companies registered with the Mikertaz Kein Commerce Commission and many more private businesses that are not registered. And now, with the privatization of the military, Black Kein Military along with ARK Industries has become the single largest corporation in the entire country.

Under MK Code 442871, the MK government does not use money for its supplies. Manpower is provided by those indebted to society. While capitalism is still legal, any supply, materiel, building, or land is still property of Mikertaz Kein. This provides a means of government production without price.


Police Forces:
The Mikertaz Kein Unified Police Force has 28,000,000 officers and 2,000,000 volunteers. Their equipment is as follows:

Standard Police: The basic force of MK, these officers are found everywhere.
Vehicles: Ford Crown Victoria, Ford Explorer, Chevy Corvette, and Dodge Ram.
Equipment: Tear Gas, Batons, Flashlight, Tazer, 9mm pistol, 12g shotgun, and light armor.
Strength: 20,000,000 strong

Advanced Police: Comparable to state police, these officers have advanced training and better equipment.
Vehicles: Chevy Suburban, Ford Mustang, Dodge Viper, and Chevy Silverado.
Equipment: MP5, Tear Gas, Flashbangs, Tazer, .45 pistol, Beanbag Riot Shotgun, Tranquilizer rifles, and moderate armor.
Strength: 5,000,000 strong

Mikertaz Federal Police: Comparable to the American FBI, these are second only to the army.
Vehicles: Porsche 911, Lamborghini Reventon, Hummer H1, and Hummer H3.
Equipment: Automatic Pistol, Tear Gas, Stun Grenades, P90, Heavy Armor, Explosive Charges, Hornets Nest Grenades, and .20 sniper rifle.
Strength: 3,000,000 strong

There have been questions as to my military fitting my population. I would like to point out that I only include adults in my population numbers, and we define 'Adult' as being either above the age of consent(16 years old) or legally emancipated. We do not track the number of minors due to the Parental Privacy Act of MK.



Military:
As a country who was witness to the worlds bloodiest war, we have created a very advanced military. Recently, Black Kein was given rights to the military, creating the first private military in Mikertaz Kein. The former president, Stiijak Minda, was assassinated after he was granted CEO of the corporation. Ron Steric, as the agreement states, is the current CEO.

Fun note:
Our military colors are
red and black. The main color is black, while trim is red. This applies to all armor(except stealth), weapons, and vehicles.

--There are 10,500,000(112,500,000) current recruits for the planetary land-based army. When not in wartime, only 1/3 of these are kept on active duty at a time. The soldier classes include:

- 5,000,000(50,000,000) various infantry(VI) of differing experience. They are outfitted with Gremit DMZ III armor, ARK Z48 Rifles(think high-tech XM8's), ARK BH17 SMG's(HK MP-5N), and scattered tech. Explosives range from standard Frag grenades to more complex explosives.

-3,000,000(25,000,000) Special Forces troops. These go in after the VI. Armed with Zuni Class N armor, ARK HR95X(AKM with GP-25 40mm under-barrel grenade launcher) automatic rifles, standard explosives, and the MIK Type3 sniper rifle( much like the CheyTac Long Range Rifle System), these men and women are not to be underestimated.

-1,000,000(12,500,000) Zimmer class troops. These elite troops feature physical and mental enhancements. Equipped with GPH Golden-Eagle NXG armor, they resemble the VI troops, simply having a different emblem and equipment. Carrying an ARK ZH35 SMG(similar to the P90), an ARK LRS558 Long Range Rifle(Brugger & Thomet APR 338), and a modified ARK ZH-P Miniature Pin Bomb(Javelin, but smaller).

-1,000,000(5,000,000) Post-Invasion Troops. The ultimate reclamation force, these troops enter captured enemy cities post war in groups of 10,000. Equipped with Night-Raven armor, ARK 229b elite rifles(TDI Kriss Super V), Gemini Building demolition devices, and DPS rehabilitation vehicles. Not as much an occupational force as a relief force, these help the citizens get used to life under MK and repair damages.

-500,000(2,000,000) Formerly Experimental NeoVice soldiers are here to stay. Their tactics are top-of-the-line. Every aspect of their training is brutal, they are raised from birth as soldiers, and their equipment is manufactured by NIF, most of it still experimental.
Protected by NIF Hell-Fury repulsive armor, NIF Type34 Ghazme Rifles (resembling the Vector, but with incendiary rounds), NIF Brute 103 HMG's(Resembling an XM307 Ma-Deuce, but once again, with incendiary rounds), and NIF FET 105LRR's(FN F2000, but explosive rounds). They also carry napalm grenades, explosive charges, and NIF Range Scanners.

1 out of 3000 carry an NIF 812B instead of the more common NIF Brute 103 HMG's. Resembling the Javelin missile launcher, the 812B uses small-scale fusion technology.



MK POW Guidelines-


1)- While in battle, soldiers under MK are not permitted to allow a fighting enemy to live(excludes surrender). While mercy is not punished, it is looked on as a weakness.

2)- While in battle, any surrendering enemies are subject to capture. The current commander is supposed to take any POW(s) in for processing. However, like mercy, failure to follow these guidelines are not necessarily punished.

3)- While standards are not uniform, most POW(s) in any MK camp have the right to food, water, shelter, clothing, and isolation(some like to be 'alone'). If there are problems with the camp, POW(s) have the right to petition one of our many Ethics Overseers.

4)- If the warring country surrenders or otherwise ends violence(i.e. treaty, peaceful negotiation), all POW(s) are to be released and given the choice to leave MK for their home or integrate.

5)- If MK completely captures a country and claims it as MK soil, any POW(s) from that country are subject to integrate into MK society or seek residence in another country. Until another country accepts the POW(s), they are to be held in the camp they were first assigned to.

6)- Certain situations allow POW(s) to be released to the enemy. However, many negotiations fail.

7)- If any POW takes part in high profile disturbances(i.e. Murder, Rape, Assault) is subject to execution, imprisonment, and/or forced servitude.

8) Any POW taking part in Low-Medium profile disturbances(i.e. Defaming other inmates, violence, vandalism, escape attempts) is subject to a limitation of rights, removal of access, and/or isolation.


Land Vehicles of Black Kein Corp.

2,000,000 Rawinheich ALCV's(Armored Land Combat Vehicles)-
These are used to invade armored and walled cities. They use ARK High-Tech Post-Ballistic pin bombs that exert a powerful explosion in a small area. They also include a 15mm automatic chain-gun turret and a 35mm cannon.

12,000,000 Mikutal RTTV's(Rapid Troop Transport Vehicles)-
Used as a quick transport rather than a fighting vehicle, the RTTV's are quick and efficient. Lightly Armored, this fast vehicle's only armament is a 15mm automatic chain gun.

3,000,000 DPS Rehabilitation Vehicles-
Used by the Post-Invasion troops, these vehicles allow MK to alleviate the state of crisis in captured enemy cities. They carry many commodities and differ as far as look due to the wide range of attachments used, depending on what the situation calls for.

50,000 ARK MCU's(Mobile Command Units)-
One commander coordinating large armies with high precision is but a fantasy in the real world. In response to this realization, Mira commissioned the MCU project. For each MCU, there are five commanders, each commanding their own forces. All movements are then fed into the national database for logging and posting. You can imagine an MCU as a large, armored motor-home.

150 DTV's(Diplomatic Travel Vehicles)
During war, there are many things going on, including things such as diplomatic talks, reasoning, prisoner exchanges, surrender talks, and ceasefire agreements. All MK DTV's are outfitted with no active weapon so as to be truly diplomatic. However, they are very quick and heavily armored.


Black Kein Naval Forces

-The Navy is comprised of a fleet of about 166 vessels and 752,800 serving officers(though not necessarily on-ship)of differing classes. Among these are

40- 300m ARK GMZ800 battleships,
Used as a heavy fighter, the GMZ800 is death that floats. Its armaments include with one 50mm cannon, five 10mm cannons, eight 50.cal anti-air guns, and three missile ports.

60- 120m Niterzan PX Attack Cruisers,
The Niterzan is a multi-purpose ship that boasts high speeds. It is armed with two 20mm cannons, two missile ports, and four 50.cal anti-air guns.


25- NIF X2 Submarines,
Ranging from low-depth offensive subs to high depth covert subs, these are a valuable resource to any military. Most carry eight cruise missiles, twenty torpedoes, and one ARK LRPM(long-range penetrating missile).

30- 355m ARK D-8 Destroyers,
The Backbone of the Navy, our destroyers are what won the five day 1995 Gulf Ocean Confrontation. Armed with two 50mm cannons, five ARK Tri-Shot 5mm cannons, five missile ports, and three cruise missiles.

Our Aircraft Carriers are basically our 355m Destroyers with a stripped deck and an offset control bridge. Capable of carrying 65 aircraft maximum, their only other defense are three 50.cal anti-air guns.

'The Freiza Jontali' Class A550 White-Water is fully operational and is docked at an undisclosed navy port. It is a massive ship that has earned its own class. At over 550 meters long(front to back), 115 meters across(port to starboard), and 275 meters tall(top to bottom), it is definitely one of the largest operational ships built. It features nineteen inches of all around K28 armor, a secret alloy made for this ship alone. It's armaments include five 50mm Cannons, ten 10mm cannons, ten ARK Tri-Shot 5mm cannons, twenty-five Giovanni Hell-Spray missile ports, and the experimental NIF Type2 EMA(Electromagnetic Matter Accelerator). This ship also carries two Fuel-Air Bombs, comparable to a 25 kiloton nuclear bomb.
Speed of 50 knots at normal engine capacity. Max of 72 knots at full power.


Black Kein Air Division

-The Air Force is a small branch, due to the fact that the nation is cavern-based. However, due to the importance of an offensive air campaign, MK still carries 150 fighters.

25 ARK1008 'Falcon'(resembling the AV-8B),
Very lightweight and fast, these planes are the main dish of the MK Air Force. Only carried on our AC65 ships, they are rarely seen in the MK skies. Armed with twin 20mm cannons carrying 250 rounds each, nine hard-points, and one short-range radar jammer.

75 ARK 3000X 'Longbow'(resembling the MV-22 Osprey but with rotating turbines rather than props),
Much Heavier and slower than the 1008's, the 3000X is a large plane mainly used for carrying strike forces or bombs. Carried on Aircraft carriers and kept at MK land bases, these are our second course. Armed with one 50.cal cannon, five hard-points, and a rather large internal storage.

18 NIF 215N 'Ninja'(resembling the B-2)
Quick, quiet, and stealthy. These are my favorite planes. Carrying at maximum seventy 500lb bombs or equivalent ordinance.

5 NIF VT301 'Reaper'(resembling the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird )
So advanced, it's almost scary. Arguably the best aircraft in MK Air, they would have cost the government nearly a trillion dollars if it weren't for MK Code 442871. Five concealed hardpoints and a small internal bomb-bay.

15 NIF 12B 'Pelican'(resembling the C-17)
Another transport plane, these carry much more than their Longbow counterparts.

12 ARK 2000T 'Pacific'(resembling An-225, refitted as a fuel tanker)
Named for their massive fuel storage, these massive aircraft are capable of carrying over a million pounds of fuel. Their ability to use their own supply or transfer it to other aircraft mid-flight makes it possible to fly the globe many times over.

Nuclear Armaments-

There is a small nuclear arsenal within the securest base in MK. The cache of 12 ARK 30-megaton bombs is kept at Fort Stance. If an invasion was ever successful, the supports to this base would be imploded, sending the base into the Intaru Vent, and the depths of magma that lie under the cavern. Under the MK nuclear contract, we have removed these from our military use, but due to the lockout mechanism ARK built into them, they are wired to explode if the external plate was ever removed. They are not to be disassembled.


Defense-

The Defensive structures in MK are it's real power. Being cavern-based, it makes it nearly impossible for an effective air attack conducted by fixed wing aircraft, though rotary winged aircraft are still effective..

There are a total of 228 ocean-surface cities able to give early warnings about naval attack forces. Different cities have different levels of defense. If one of these was to be destroyed, the pipeline into the underground is immediately sealed to prevent flooding. However, the closure mechanism only detects large water quantities, so invasion forces would still be able to utilize these.

The only non-closing entrance into Kein is the main entrance, a gaping hole in the Mexican Gulf about 5 miles across. Being the only entrance that cannot be closed, it is the most heavily defended area. There are a total of 20 ARK GRP 50mm cannons and 50 MIKOL Missile ports that stock mainly Cruise missiles.

Planet Name - Earth, located in a cavern under the Mexican gulf. A vivid array of natural features and natural resources make this a desirable place.


Nature and Population Density
The Mikertan landscape is a vivid array of features, including the beautiful forest-littered urban region of the central region ,the great mountains and rocky plains of the eastern region, the frozen tundra of the northeastern province, the mild deserts covering northern region, the blistering deserts of the northwestern territory, the marshy wetlands of the western region, the lake covered fertile lands of the southwestern region, the fertile hilly valleys of the southern region and the flat grasslands of the southeastern region.

Central Region - ~16% of the population live here. The land resembles southern California, USA.
Southeastern Region - ~14% of the population resides here. This land resembles Illinois, USA.
Eastern Region - ~10% of the country live here. The land resembles central to southern Colorado, USA.
Northeastern Province - ~3% of the population live here. The land is similar to southern Alaska, USA.
Northern Region - ~9% of the population live here. The land resembles Texas, USA but colder.
Northwestern Territory - >1% of the population live here. The land resembles Saudi Arabia.
Western Region - ~12% of the population resides here. This land resembles southeastern Louisiana, USA.
Southwestern Region - ~13% of the population lives here. This land resembles Vermont, USA.
Southern region - almost 21% of the country lives here. It resembles central California, USA.

Federal Region (Azamal) - >1% of the country. This is located in the middle of the central region. It completely urban, with only a few small parks.


Politics
Tired of Autocratic rule, the nation of Ganzopi Kein was born. This eventually formed into Mikertaz Kein. Beginning as a country escaping dictatorial rule, Mikertaz Kein was founded on a solid constitution, ensuring that all of its citizens are guaranteed freedom and rights. This also provides for the system of government, a direct democracy. In this system, operating things on a massive scale is almost futile, considering the size of the country and the diverse state of the populace and their individual problems.

Because of the difficulties of Direct Democracy, Mikertaz Kein is divided into five 'state' districts, North, South, East, West, and Central. State governments are made up of a governor and a state legislature. The governor is elected out of the state legislature by the people. The state legislature is elected from local districts, which anyone can run for.

The federal government is small, but influential. The federal government of Mikertaz Kein is located the city, Azamal, which is in the center of the country, as part of the central region. It is considered the 'federal district', as it is very large. The current leader, called the 'Kein' is Ron Steric. His official title is 'Kein Steric', a member of the West District People's Party.

Political parties are not really much in federal government, as all federal members are chosen from one of the five general regions, North, East, West, South, and Central. Anyone may run for state legislature under any party. Parties are allowed to form alliances and run one candidate under them. So, theoretically, if someone from a specific party is endorsed by all the other parties, those parties form together becoming one. This is the way federal parties are made.

All laws are voted in by the public, through electronic voting, held every month One day a month, all businesses except government buildings are closed for a 'Voting Day'. Internet is a government service, so all citizens are able to vote if they choose to. All laws are decided by the people, passing as long as the number of people supporting the bill is not less than those opposing it. If it is a federal law, it passes as long as three of the five General Districts support it.


Populace-
There are still many immigrants, despite the constant conflicts with other Kein nations, so MK is a diverse nation. There are people coming in from other nations constantly. Only about 11% of the people are actually of Matikan descent. The populace is very central in the political sense, but tends to lean more liberal.

After going through a few leaders and having a radical political overhaul, the nation of Mikertaz Kein is stable for the most part. There are few protests, with most centering on the environment and politics.

The country is highly abundant in most natural resources due to its array of natural features. The diverse territories bring in many resources, all of which are available on the international market. Trade is conducted by individual companies, and as such is not involved with government. There are few federal limits on trade, but regions can place their own restrictions. It is wise to check with the individual representative of each region.

Resources include the following, ordered from most abundant to least abundant.

Iron, Gold, Silver, Uranium, Phosphorous, Titanium, Oil and Petroleum, Freshwater, Carbon, Silicon, Diamond, Sodium, Cattle, Selenium, Enriched Soils(and thus crops), Dexitum(a lightweight titanium-like metal used in MK's armor), Timber, Fish, Copper, Radium, Zinc, and Thulium.


Technology-

We have much of the same technology as the rest of the modern world, with a few significant advances. This country is rated as ten years advanced. We have natural energy productions, fusion power, an extensive space program, and many small advances in modern technology like cell phones, computers, and automobiles.

Due to our location, we are almost entirely powered by natural means. Solar, Wind, Sea, and Water power are our biggest. There is very little public fuel use, as many automobiles are electric or solar and most energy is produced by fusion power plants. Companies are required to be at lease 75% naturally powered unless they purchase carbon credits or get a waiver signed by legislature. Our military is the largest user of fossil fuels, with airlines and companies making plastic close behind.


Leaders, Past and Present:
Emmit Dinei - First leader of MK, called Ganzopi Kein back then.
Nickolai Divoski - A good leader, but not very confident. Changed name from Ganzopi Kein to Gratis Kein.
Asaki Vi - A loud, aggressive woman who is responsible for the vast territory we control today. Changed name to Arkinimat Kein.
John Mikertaz - Died in office. Introduced direct democracy, which is still in place today. So popular that the country was renamed after him by public vote.
Mira Freizas - She succeed in revitalizing the economy, but her authoritarian ways had her outed by public vote.
Stiijak Minda - A great leader, responsible for the success of Black Kein and ARK Industries. Unfortunately, once the Black Kein inception speech was made, he was assassinated.
Ron Steric - A calm and collected man, he rarely displays emotion. He was the vice president, and was voted in by the public after the Minda assassination.


Capital:
Azamal is the capital city, and spanning the entire 100 sq. mile Federal Region. Azamal dominates the surrounding landscape with its giant buildings, stunning monuments, a large population, and a very intricate public transportation service. With nearly 13 million residents, the city of Azamal is 100 sq miles and contains some of the most daring advancements in public transportation.

The entire city is made up of interlacing buildings, connected by monorail lines. There are multi-level freeways between the buildings for private transport. Try to imagine New York City, but with less streets, thousands more skyscrapers, and This is where all federal buildings are located and headquartered. This city houses all members of the federal government as well as many citizens who choose to live here.


Economy:
The Mikertaz Kein economy is massive, both in size and strength. There are more than 5,000,000 companies registered with the Mikertaz Kein Commerce Commission and many more private businesses that are not registered. And now, with the privatization of the military, Black Kein Military along with ARK Industries has become the single largest corporation in the entire country.

Under MK Code 442871, the MK government does not use money for its supplies. Manpower is provided by those indebted to society. While capitalism is still legal, any supply, materiel, building, or land is still property of Mikertaz Kein. This provides a means of government production without price.


Police Forces:
The Mikertaz Kein Unified Police Force has 28,000,000 officers and 2,000,000 volunteers. Their equipment is as follows:

Standard Police: The basic force of MK, these officers are found everywhere.
Vehicles: Ford Crown Victoria, Ford Explorer, Chevy Corvette, and Dodge Ram.
Equipment: Tear Gas, Batons, Flashlight, Tazer, 9mm pistol, 12g shotgun, and light armor.
Strength: 20,000,000 strong

Advanced Police: Comparable to state police, these officers have advanced training and better equipment.
Vehicles: Chevy Suburban, Ford Mustang, Dodge Viper, and Chevy Silverado.
Equipment: MP5, Tear Gas, Flashbangs, Tazer, .45 pistol, Beanbag Riot Shotgun, Tranquilizer rifles, and moderate armor.
Strength: 5,000,000 strong

Mikertaz Federal Police: Comparable to the American FBI, these are second only to the army.
Vehicles: Porsche 911, Lamborghini Reventon, Hummer H1, and Hummer H3.
Equipment: Automatic Pistol, Tear Gas, Stun Grenades, P90, Heavy Armor, Explosive Charges, Hornets Nest Grenades, and .20 sniper rifle.

The FT Mikertan landscape hasn't changed too much with time. We still have beautiful forests, protected by numerous laws, sprawling urban areas ranging from our smallest town (Nirat, app.52 pop) to our most massive developments (Capitol City Azamal, app. 658,000 pop, self-contained), the great mountains and rocky plains of the eastern region (which have been mined heavily, but refilled with dirt from other developments), the frozen tundra of the northeastern province(which has receded slightly, but is still there), the mild wastelands covering northern region(which have receded slightly to the northwestern deserts), the blistering deserts of the northwestern territory (our largest territory), the marshy wetlands of the western region (some areas of which are now drained), the lake covered fertile lands of the southwestern region(now our only region containing farming, besides Azamal), the fertile hilly valleys of the southern region (our most populated area), and the flat grasslands of the southeastern region.

Central Region - ~18% of the population live here. The land resembles southern California, USA.
Southeastern Region - ~12% of the population resides here. This land resembles Illinois, USA.
Eastern Region - ~8% of the country live here. The land resembles central to southern Colorado, USA.

A federal program makes it possible for even the poorest people to afford computers, which are how the direct polls are voted on.

The governor is elected out of the state legislature by the people. The state legislature is elected from local districts, which anyone can run for.

The federal government is much larger now, houseing more than 1500 legislative members, a court of twenty-one, and a massive mansion for the current Kein. The federal government of Mikertaz Kein is located in the city, Azamal, which is in the center of the country, which is now part of the central region. It is considered the 'federal district', as it is very large. The current leader, called the 'Kein' is Ron Steric. His official title is 'Kein Steric', a member of the West District People's Party.
