NASA tried a variable geometry wing that rotated about a fixed point to alter its drag profile in flight. It wasn't hugely successful in the end though. I think it was called the AD-1 or something similar.

Of course. Your example shifts on one side in flight whereas the one I gave rotates. I was just giving a slightly cynical RL example - it's a very interesting idea though.

Just name it "Ball of Incandescent Gas Bringer" in Latin and be done with it.

Two Grenadiers-Have a attachment to fix a one shot grenade launcher (50x56mm) to their weapon, and fire it, effective against enemy position and light vehicles.
One or Two Heavy Weapons Guys-Armed with...I forget the name of it, but the GPMG guys of sort for the squad.
One Banner Holder-Reason? Ragon are a warrior culture...and it what if you have to place a banner to show you have taken the position?
Medic-Has future medical supplies and such, is basically a combat medic.
And if the situation calls for it.
One or Two Charons with AT weaponry.
