Those SAM's already have search radar on their own.

the SA-15 (TOR) Have search radar in practically each launcher vehicle. All needed is basially a command center to manage its target.

Same goes for the SA-11 (Buk) It's already have its own search radar the 9S18 "Snow drift"

While SA-21 have plenty of search radar options.. like 91N6, 64N6E (Both are "Big bird" family) Nebo family, RLM Family and 9L6N "cheeseboard"
and that 36D6 "Tin shield" (Though this one is not only used for SAM search radar but also general purpose air defense radar)

The one you may need is some command center like Poliana or Ranzhir to integrate inputs from those radars and distribute targets evenly for the SAM's.

Oh yes yes, I know. I just wanted a longer ranged radar for early warning uses and general search, which is why I went with the TIN SHIELD.

Edit: And as for the command center (at the regimental level, not divisional) is the PPRU-M1.

I have some more ideas to check up on.
First, how about ditching body armor and going naked with blue paint like celts?
Second, human wave charges, anyone?
And finally, how does horse cavalry sound? If not, camel, elephant or moose cavalry?

That greatly depends on the type of rifle.

Depends on the type of rifle and how it has been modified through the years.

1 and 2) these won't be particularly effective in a modern scenario.

3) not very useful in a modern context. In fact, properly supported human waves will be more effective and useful than this.

That greatly depends on the type of rifle.

The weapon in question is the experimental Japanese rifle, the Type 5.

So from what I've read, it's basically your standard service rifle, maybe a little beefed.
It would have limited effectiveness in the modern world. For your standard army, I can't recommend this. I suppose if you can manufacture something akin to it cheapy, it might work for some sort of militia or paramilitary. Overall, it just doesn't stack up with modern weapons, other than firing a pretty decently sized cartridge.

If you update it to use detachable magazine, you could certainly use it for a good while, maybe even up to the present if you updated it with synthetic furniture and minor tweaks.

Ah, I see. So basically update the cartridge, magazine and other things and it'll be able to be effective against modern military forces to a point. Okay. Thank you guys.

It's kind of cute that with all the big words he is using, he designed the cannon like a machine gun.

I'm quite interested by how "roller delay", "open bolt" and being a "revolver recoilless cannon" (those two coexisting themselves too) can all coexist in the same concept.

Now, I want to fit the Spitfire Mk.I with a modern turboprop engine. Could someone recommend to me which engine would be best for this, and the resultant top speed, maximum altitude, and range of the aircraft?

Do note that this is not meant to be a combat aircraft.

So, another more, doctrinical-political question here.

The East German Volkspolizei were the police of the DDR, yet, they received military training and had access to APCs, IFVs and different kinds of artillery. This bother me alot, what was the idea behind it?

Think less NYPD and more national guard also doubling duty as the police.

Actual police agencies, whether city/town, county or state, DO have demilitarized or purpose-built AFVs, although AFAIK none have any mounted lethal weaponry. SWAT is a specialized part of a LE agency, they are not some kind of independent force.
