An alternative national sport, for those who don't want to see people dying, is gymnastics.

[nation]Ko-oren[/nation] - Football (Soccer), Baseball and Football (Gridiron, American)

Football (Soccer), Baseball and Football (Gridiron, American) are national sports, with full professional top leagues. The football (soccer) pyramid has three divisions, with three third divisions (so 5 leagues total), of which the top two are both fully professional. Baseball has two conferences of 10 teams each, and American Gridiron Football has 30 professional teams. In addition to these sports, Rugby (both Union and League) is popular in the southern peninsula, Handball is popular on the most eastern island of Hogone, Field Hockey is popular in the mid-north, Ice Hockey has some popularity in the northeast and the far west, Basketball on all four eastern islands, and all of these sports have semi-professional leagues with some fully professional teams. Furthermore, there are national leagues for Futsal, Gaelic Football and Hurling. There are local leagues (some of which have some international appeal, even) for Ko-orenite Handball, Ko-orenite Football, Volleyball, Tennis and Badminton. Lastly, there are national Athletics competitions once a year, and the same goes for Swimming. Sports in the snow or on ice are generally not as popular, though. Cricket is hardly played, though all of the eight countries and colonies within Greater Ko-oren field a team to play a small league once a year.
