What's funny is that one of my prototype tanks the Atrox bares a quite interesting resemblance to the M8 Li Toneur Medium Tank, at least to me it does. (not saying anything is going on, only that its funny that I think they are similar)

OI, just remembered. I have an article that I've taken a lot (literally like taken stuff) from about how to reduce barrel wear. Its from '04 so its not that old and should be a good starting point.

The M412 Hellhammer. It sports a 130mm cannon, a pintle mounted M2 Browning, a coaxial 7.62mm M47 LMG, as well as a hull-mounted LMG of the same model.

its narrow so at longer ranges the enemy tank has a chance of missing. Good since the M60 has armor less then 200mm RHA and really needs ERA. On the plus side, it has a better thermal imaging sight then the Abrams.

Unlike most settings, on NS, a picture is usually not worth a thousand words. What you're describing would be called "pic spam," and would succeed only in annoying everybody.

Besides which, Lyras rocks.

Balova is now using a mixed fleet of obsolete M103 heavy tanks, and M1A1 Abrams MBTs.

No really, I was simply stating the fact that you do not understand what I was talking about, or have the background knowledge of me needed to know that I could in fact put nothing in the post except the name of the tank, thirty pictures, and a pricetag and still have it be non-picspam.

The GAAF utilizes surviving M1A2 Abrams tanks wherever possible, supplemented by the aging M60 and M551 tanks that remained in storage in National Guard depots and emergency materiel depots.

Same for me.
I am currently working on a tank in the draftroom that I intend to be comparable or better than L.
My primary argument is that I do not have missiles and their fuel on the outside of my armor to explode when the tank is hit.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

The above post contains hyperbole, metaphoric language, embellishment and exaggeration. It may also include badly translated figures of speech and misused idioms. Analyze accordingly.

but the new one will be smoothbore

i am thinking have best of both worlds.

meaning that my Main battle tank will use Smoothbored whilst a my medium tanks will be rifled. so that means my Armoured divisons will have MBT, Med tanks, HIVF's and IVFs.

Medium tanks and MBTs fulfill a very similar role doctrine wise, and using both a medium tank and MBT would likely be redundant and piss off logistics officers. You could probably go extended range full bore, which offers the advantages of rifling and smoothbore.
