Still looks the same to me...

Turret, right? Try looking at the difference between the Leo 2 and Leo 2 A7 to see what I'm talking about.

I don't see exactly what you sloped, but I say keep it like it is.

Question, how well would a K2 do against the LY4A2?

Just making sure, because I'm considering using the K2 as a complement to the LY4A2, and if it could match up even a little bit, well, that would be some awesomesauce.

Its acually a good question. Why it would "fail" yes as its armor hasn't been NS'ifed nor its gun NS'ifed nor its system NS'ifed. However its like a build up to that level. The K2 has some pretty nice systems that unless you wank the crap out of can not get too much better. K2, afaik, is pretty cutting edge for tank tech today, but against a known NS super tank....

of course sumer can probably come in and set the record straight, same conclusion but better explained.

Meh, I got my answer. I'll probably choose between the LY10 or the K2 to complement the LY4A2 then, thanks Rusikstan!

You pretty much listed the reasons right there, against a good NS tank, it is likely inferior in most, if not, all ways. I was not denying that the K2 is up there as one of the best tanks available today, nor that it is a good tank IRL. It's a great tank IRL, and more than a match for any other IRL tank in existence...however, this is NS.

@ both: Take a look at the front of the turret, left to the gun mantlet. In the first picture, both the mantlet and the frontal armor are vertical. Second picture has a (slightly) sloped front armor. (12.5 degrees, to be exact)

@ Anemos Major: I know what you mean. But the Leo 2A4 lacked protection against HEAT ammunition, so they added the "wedge" in the A5 upgrade. The Tiamat has this protection already built in.

You justify this how? Ceramic does not into sloped side very well as this increases cracking and breaking etc. LRP does into sloped armor very well as it digs into the slope. HEAT doesn't care too much, but that can be a factor. Sloping doesn't really affect top-attack munitions. So slope against people who use dense LRP doesnt equal good.

Leo has a faux slope. Its spaced armor that allows the LRP to dig into at a usual akward angle and then smash itself against the armor underneath. Also fakes out HEAT too, but not sure to what degree.

Also, I need a nickname for my medium tank/ main battle tank (ICly it is referred to as a medium tank, but doctrine wise it is more of an MBT). Any suggestions? I am leaning more towards aggressive mammals, or some kind of heavy cavalry, so wolverine, or cataphract or something. Probably going to use a similar naming type for my other vehicles, so if my MBT is called the wolverine, I might nickname my artillery gun elephants, and my IFVs Tiger or lion, or bear (or Liger).
"Lynx" sounds nice too. I like Lynxes. 8)

Or "Titan" is also a great name for a tough frontline tank. As is Paladin. Just a few suggestions.

Also W. Weyard I think I see the difference, but the difference is not that attention grabbing so I guess its whatever version you like better.

Balova has recently taken possession of several M1A1 MBTs, a fortuitous decision. Military authorities are also hurriedly refurbishing M103 heavy tanks.

Balova's current MBT is the M1A1 Abrams. We bought them from an "unspecified firm," just before a neighboring state attacked us. Several old M103 heavy tanks have been brought out from retirement as well.

Really though as George stated it depends. Crew will mean everything with such a closeness in ability. Also keep in mind I know very little about the A7.
