Standard procedure in pretty much all militaries is that the crew stay in the tank until something catches fire, a recovery crew arrives, or they have to retreat. And if the latter, they have to destroy the tank first.

Well no duh, how are you supposed to catch an armoured vehicle traveling at high speeds? Besides the tank commander has an MG, and probably a pistol or something.

lol I don't think anyone honestly is brave enough(or stupid enough depending on your interpretation) to call a firemisson on his/her tank to avoid getting captured. Unless the enemy has darker plans, then by all means fire away and launch a mini-nuke.

This. If you're using your tanks right, they've got other tanks and mechanized infantry nearby (and probably helicopters above if you use them like I do) to kill whatever immobilized their tank, or at least protect it long enough for a rescue vehicle to arrive. Or, failing that, long enough for another tank (or helicopter or AT crew) to arrive and destroy the tank before retreating.

As for what my tank crews carry, they've each got their service sidearms and P90 PDWs. Sometimes they'll even have a Mikor MGL, useful if the enemy's particularly fond of infantry waves.

These loaded with White or Red Phosphorous smoke munitions these would keep pesky infantry away from the hull.. have seen the effects of WP first hand its definitely something NO one wants to be hit with. Keeps burning and has to be scrapped out/cut out of the tissue.

Too much diversity, too little gap between some items.

I would honestly say a good diversity gap would be using the Leopard 2 as the MBT, with the TAM as a medium. As the TAM shares heritage with the Marder you can turn around and use the Marder 1A5 as an IFV and any of the TAM based variants as well. Which gives you two distinct sets of tracked vehicles, Leopard 2 based, and Marder mased, allowing a good mix there. Just add a Leopard 2 derrived APC/IFV and voilla, you have a full set on each.

No point in seperate gun and ATGM armed TDs. Centauro, despite wiki, is a recce vehicle first. I'd reccomend The Rooikat ahead of the Centauro as well. Or, for the German fun, go with a TH400, then use it as the basis for everything wheeled but armoured.

So now we have three families of items.
Heavy/Armoured: Leopard 2 based.
Medium/Mechanized: Marder based.
Light/Motorized: TH400 based.

Break those three down into each having the following, and you're done.

CEV
Gun vehicle
ATGM vehicle
Recce vehicle
Command vehicle
Air Defense Vehicle

Artillery I would actually suggest keeping the PzH 2000, and if you need rockets maybe drive in the BM-30. Maybe. Which effectivly keeps you almost entierly German, and keeps a high degree of commonality, thus keeping costs down a lot.

At this point the Type 10 is too close to the Chally to be useful, and you have a massive mish-mash in there. Although if you want to keep nationality with someone other then German, you can do the same, but it will mean a lot more work in terms of creating specific variants yourself. At least with German most, if not all, already exist, which means minimal work.

The gun is way too skinny to be a 90mm gun or the tank is ginormous.
