I doubt it has two yards of steel, ceramic, or even Styrofoam armour, or even 2 yards RHAe, since it does not have enough volume, beyond that, you will probably need a bigger engine to make it go fast.

It is in fact a tank, and as long as that is his main tank, it is his main tank. Its name is the T28 super heavy tank, and it was a turretless tank like the S tank. Truthfully I would have preferred the T30, it may have had less armour, but it was better armed, and lighter.

Technically it's a Gun Motor Carriage, and is the T-95, and there's a huge difference there too.

But that's neither here nor there.

If it had 2 yards or RHA equivalent of armour, the space inside would be absolutely tiny.

The M-1 has 1,320–1,620 millimetres of armor. But thats only the thickest part of the front of the turret.

There's also logistics to contend with. The cost of making lots of giant tanks, plus maintaining them, plus getting crews, plus ammo, etc.

If it's large enough to have room inside for, uh, everything besides the armor... then the armor will weigh it down to the point of immobility. And just adding horsepower, at that point, will do nothing but over-stress the drivetrain.

I believe Sumer already mentioned something about those numbers being unrealistic, and wanting to either change or remove them. Also, those tanks have layered armour, with steel (or titanium in some cases), ceramics (of various kinds), DU mesh (or tungsten sometimes), a Kevlar spall liner (I think Lyras uses spider silk or something), explosive reactive armour (which blows away shape charges, and can snap APFSDS), and sometimes none explosive reactive armour, which uses rubber which expands after impact instead of explosives. When I did a review of the Mammoth (mammoth III I believe), it only had 1 kind of actual armour, and something that hardens it against EMPs, it was a shell trap, and it has no commander's weapon, so overall it is useless, since a single soldier could sneak up on it and toss a grenade in.
