History. Most of the people who lived here when it was the IRS were Muslims. What made Islam popular at that time was people who were already Muslim pretty much spreading it around. Before that, there was a higher population of Christians and atheists. Now our Muslim population is 53%, as we have had many immigrants. Islam continues to spread quickly among the Communal people.
