Can anyone explain what in the name of bullpup rifles is up with the Magpul PDR's ejection port being over the grip?

It looks as if the casing is pushed forward (probably when the bolt returns to the closed position) but I haven't handled it or any other bullpup rifles.

No one has handled the PDR.

The point of forward ejection is to keep cases from fucking with a left-handed shooter.

Friends a lefty shooter haha, had his rifle modified (flipped i guess) so his face wasnt getting showered in fresh brass.

Another way to fix this (non-bullpups) is to just install a deflector.

on a side note, since I'm lefty and mostly shoot shotguns, I just dropped a little bit more cash for bottom ejection.

That works too. Forward and bottom ejection prevents leftys from getting hit with brass.

Not just them either, & I completely agree with you; but im playing devils advocate in a sense that some person with awful concentration will focus on the brass flying in front.

There's a pretty good chance they severely raise pressures within the barrel, too.

The only thing really PKM is the ejection port (and the sights when I get around to drawing them. The rest is basically an MG42/MG3 with a DP-28-esque flapper locking system, and a sort-of-Vickers-like muzzle booster.

It's got the feed tray, buffer system, and general bolt setup, it just has flappers instead of rollers.

Neat. So this is kind of a mix of the MG42 and DP28 internals. You said that was a magazine well on the bottom, correct?
