The closest I have as far as real life experience in actually shooting them is 12 gauge shot shells filled with them.

They're a novelty in that reguard.

Outside that, they fall with the duplex and triplex rounds in my mind: Not necessarily a bad idea but not a good one either. I'm not a huge fan of Flechettes as it is due to their lack of actual combat use (shotguns not withstanding) and the conflicting nature of their reports

Made this in PMG. It's not very different from the AK-74 model I started with, but the question I had was whether the foregrip will get in the way for loading it?

I reckon it wouldn't, but I don't know, so, yeah. :meh:

The "you should be retreating" stance maybe.

Because there are plenty of situations in which you find yourself within 20-60m of the enemy and can't do much about it, and retreating becomes a no go.

It's a bullpup polymer shell conversion for a R4, which is a South African Galil clone.
Fitting, since the AV-97 was once going to be a bullpup polymer shell conversion for an FAL. Still got plenty of tweaks to attest to that.

Yes but The CR-21 is curvier, it's like RL beno curvy rifle. The design for your AV-97 looks more like the SAR-21 than the CR-21 to me. it's a bit straighter lines.

Puzikas and or Aqiz does 6X35 perform how it's supposed too? KAC claims effectivness out to 300m as on par with 5.56. Also what are the advantages of using a double piston like the KAC PDW does?

IDT, I have yet another question!

"Imagine that as you inch forward in battle the enemy begins to lob cylinders of gas in your direction and then follows up immediately by shooting rifle pellets directly at you filled with something you vaguely remember as being called “phosegene gas”"

Is there anything actually behind the part about "rifle pellets filled with phosgene" or did the author pull that out of his ass? I haven't found anything else pertaining to it, anyway, and I can't imagine it being a very effective delivery method in the first place, but it sounds about retarded enough for WW1.

i used to hand-draw curvy rifles before i even knew of the CR-21. i came close to making them in paint, but decided it'd be kinda shitty since i usually didn't leave enough space for the bolt :P

anyways, i've ben thinking of making a totally-not-XM8-inspired fishgun that would compete against the FA03A4... and lose. instead of the casrry handle, it'd have a fixed optic and optic cover, with the reticle's black lines providing a back-up rear sight. the front sight would be blended in with the front of the cover/handguard when folded, creating a sleek. clean look.

the lower handguard would feature a rubberized, removable piece at the bottom. it could then be deattached to attach a replacement with either a 40mm GL, a shotgun or a picatinny rail system.

and no, no PCAPs.

Sounds like something pulled out of someone's ass. Phosgene was delivered by artillery shell, or using gas canisters when the winds were right, not by small arms. In fact, IIRC, no side in WW1 ever used small arms ammunition to deliver poison gas. I'm sure you can guess why.

I was aware of the main delivery methods of gas. What I didn't know was whether or not small arms rounds were ever "filled with phosgene gas". But yeah, it was just retarded enough to be plausible for WW1's "tactical innovations"... I'm honestly kinda surprised they never tried it, actually.

The US army experimented with Ricin coated bullets, but that's the closest anybody's come to using chemical weapons in small arms. The limited range, trajectory, and extremely small volume all make small arms ammunition a poor system for delivering poison gas. IIRC, the French even found small-ish grenade launchers ineffective because of the limited volume of gas they could fire.

I think you're missing my point. I'm aware of the fact that using a small-arms round as a delivery method for gas is pants-on-head retarded, but since WW1 was essentially (initially anyway) a retardation contest, I thought that someone would have tried delivering actual gas through small-arms ammo.

Y/N?

Preliminary calculations suggest a muzzle velocity of 275m/s with 11g projectile, or 1.2km/s with three .65g WC flechettes. Both values from a 330mm barrel.

I think the subsonic weight is too low, and the supersonic velocity is too low for teh futurz.

Just to add, another nice thing is they have ballistic coefficients for pistol caliber bullets, which is something that, while not necessarily needed or difficult to find, is nice to have

Supersonic velocity is completely guess work. No ready access to PC means no drawing drafts, which means all velocities are off of the top of my head.

Even still, for a 330cm barrel, it seems quite decent to me.

What do you think then? 15.6g? That's about as heavy as I can manage at present.

and the supersonic velocity is too low for teh futurz.

Supersonic velocity is completely guess work. No ready access to PC means no drawing drafts, which means all velocities are off of the top of my head.

Even still, for a 330cm barrel, it seems quite decent to me.

16.8 is what the SP5 projectile weighs.

And futr armour stronk.

I can manage around 16.5g with a longer projectile, but I'm not sure it'll fit properly. I'll need to redo the powly and look into it.

And futr armour stronk.

Indeed.

Can I assume that futr 2015 propellants can boost said velocity to 1.3km/s or greater?

For want of heavy equipment the platoons FOs could direct no HMGs.

For want of HMGs, the Archians had to rely on shitty fucking microcalibers.

For want of real weapons, they lost the war.

Made this in PMG. It's not very different from the AK-74 model I started with, but the question I had was whether the foregrip will get in the way for loading it?

I reckon it wouldn't, but I don't know, so, yeah. :meh:

The foregrip is fine. What isn't fine is the front sight, which you wouldn't be able to see. The pistol grip would be very uncomfortable too.

What makes you think you wouldn't be able to see that?
