ACU camouflage?

MY EEEEEYES! YOU'RE KILLING THEM!

seriously though, ACU was a try to make a camouflage that'd be good for all environments and the result was a camo that sucked in almost all, salvo for urban ones, and sofas.

if you really need a camo that performs OK in all environments, you should look at the Multicam. anyways, dedicated camouflage for each environment >>>>> multi-camouflages.

here's a list of camos i consider to be good. i'm no expert however so take it with a bit of salt:

jungle camos:

brazilian lizard (bonus for amazonic environments)
flecktarn
british DPM

desert camos:

MARPAT desert
A-TACS desert
chocolate chip

snow camos:

some finnish camo i can't remember the name

urban camos:

i found this one randomly. no idea what it is
if you want to be badass, just go with plain black clothes.

BOPE approves of plain black uniforms.sadly, the english in the page is not very well-written. taiwan also does, but whatever.

I'm pretty sure that Finnish camo is M05.

Also, Jatimatic 9x19mm SMG, Y/N?

I'm redesigning the caseless warhead, changing the caliber down to 12.3mm and deriving it from the Lorenz pattern minie` ball in some respect. Just, well, fuckit, the original lookes absolutely terrible! Hel, what if I just rock CTA instead of caseless?

fuckit, I'll throw together two versions.

Do you also plan on it doubling as a standing leaf sight/ladder sight? Like what is found on the M91, Arisaka series (and I believe SMLE)?

I honestly don't know what you are talking about. What are these standing sights for? I barely understand how the regular sights work beyond: "knob moves along slope, forces rod to move thus moving the rear reference point.

Like on the M91. You can slide the block, adjusting your sight for elevation like your model shows. However, with the M91's sight, you could also lift the leaf up to the vertical position by-hand, turning it into a leaf sight. It allowed you to engage the enemy in volley fire that way:

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f41/M ... 49890e.jpg

Note how it has the standard notch sight when folded down, but also visible between the sides of the leaf there is a second notch sight to be used when the rear sight is in the vertical position.

http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh11 ... CF4803.jpg

To my knowledge, several rifles used this type of rear sight at the turn of the century.

So basically all I need to do for this to work is to add a notch to the knob I use to adjust the sights and cut the sight rod open in the middle? Consider it done (even thou it can't be seen).

Chocolate chip isn't very good in, well, most deserts. It's optimized for the deserts of the southwest US, but it contrasts too much with most deserts (like those in the Mid East and Africa) to be effective. 3-color desert is better overall. (source http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desert_Bat ... ss_Uniform)

Urban camo's aren't really camouflage, because each part of every city can have colors so varied that no pattern would be very effective. SWAT/police forces wear urban camo because it provides them with a professional utility uniform that makes them look like police. Gray/black doesn't hide them too well, but if you're a civilian and you see them, you'll know they are police.

Also, Multicam, while being a good transitional pattern, is probably the best one for rocky deserts and mountainous environments (hence why it's used so widely by coalition forces in Afghanistan). Recently they also released "Multicam Arid" and "Multicam Tropic" to form a 3-pattern family for the US Army, but the other two colorations have yet to enter service. (http://multicampattern.com/#patterns)

Finally, that first pattern you listed under urban looks sorta like that blue/gray thing the US Navy uses now on its working uni (link).

If my rifle uses a double stack magazine will my stripper clips also need to be double stacked or will a single stack clip somehow work out?

Would it be reasonable to use bolt action rifles provided that a 12 man squad featured an automatic weapon at a ratio of 1:2/. so say 8 bolt action riflemen, 2 automatic riflemen, and 2 belt fed MG's, and an SMG wielding officer. would that work out? (keep in mind said SMG is 6.8 SPC)

Your squad would get slaughtered in CQC.

It might be worth it to have a designated marksman in your squad armed with a bolt-action rifle, though he would probably need a PDW.

I love bolt action rifles too, but they just aren't effective now. There's a reason why even guerillas use AKs.
