If I'd be not-ex-USSR/Russia, I'd use the following:

MP-443 chambered in Tok as main service pistol
AKMSU as carbine/PDW/SMG
AKM as main service rifle
RPKM as SAW
PKM as GPMG
Kord as HMG
AGS-30 as AGL
RG-6 as GL
GP-25 as UBGL
Saiga-12 as SG
KS-23 as fuckhuge SG

RPG-7 as light reusable RPG
RPG-32 as heavy reusable RPG
RPG-22 as light disposable RPG
RPG-30 as heavy disposable RPG

BTR-80 (with the "classic" turret) for motor infantry
BMP-2 for mech infantry
BMP-3 for armored infantry

T-55 brought to T-55AGM or T-55M6 standard (whichever is less "intrusive", the former I think - basic point is it needs a 125mm smoothbore gun, a diesel engine and ERA)
T-72
T-90

BMT-72 as HIFV
BMPT as tank support

etc etc etc

If I were to NSify a tractor when I get my next pc built/completed, what should I do for the suspension and traction system? Stick with wheels, go with treads? What type of armor, in-fact, what type of armament?

Also, that hydraulic breaching ram on the "Rook" is like a mechanized willy, I'm just throwing that out there.

Mk.1- Issued in 1910 to replace the bayonets that had been all but neglected by Fordorsian troops due to preferring to use their own knives. The knife was slightly shorter than the bayonets, but was thicker and more durable, making it a much better parrying weapon. Despite being issued as a utility knife, it did lack some basic features.

Mk.2- Made to replace the Mk.1 in 1912 after the start of the Deep War, the Mk.2 had a front-heavy blade, allowing for more powerful swings as well as having serrations along the spine of the blade, making it more suitable as a utility knife.

Mk.3- In 1913, despite being issued with axes and machetes, Fordorsian troops were still being outclassed in close combat by the Naðrfirar. To help this, or at least try and help it, troops where now re-issued with the Mk.3 Utility Knife, which now featured a thick handguard, allowing for better parrying as well as a good punch to the face if needed.

Mk.4- In 1915, as the Deep War became one of attrition, it was clear that Fordorsian troops would need to stay in the trenches for extended periods of time with limited supply lines, so it was decided that a completely new knife would be issued. One that would fit in every situation. The Mk.4 was broad, heavy and practical, allowing most soldiers to ditch their machetes and axes and save a great deal of weight. The few Ulfrans of the Ulfran 1st Regiment who were tasked with guarding the Silver Wind bridge during the war also took to the knife nicely after they were issued them.

Mk.5- After the Deep War ended in 1920, higher-quality materials were finally more widely available to Fordorsia. This allowed for the Mk.5, the next model of the utility knife, to have it's blade made out of titanium with a tungsten edge.

Mk.6- As tensions in Europe rose during the late 1930's, Fordorsia, as well as the rest of Ulfheim, knew that war was coming. As part of their preperations, the utility knife was further modified with another set of serrations spanning most of it's spine, as well as a reinforced handguard. The knives were in the hands of all Fordorsian troops before WWII started in 1930, and the Mk.6 served throughout it, and is still the standard utility knife, and iconic weapon, of Fordorsian troops.

Earlier today, in another unprovoked incident enemy troops once again crossed our border insidiously. Whilst peacefully plowing in a field near the border one of our agricultural tractors was attacked. In response to this our tractor returned fire dealing heavy casualties to our opponents and driving them off. Upon which it recovered our wounded and flew back to base.

IIRC the thing is actually older than that and is a satire of the official Soviet reports about the various Chino-Soviet border conflicts. Or so I've heard.

And a long discussion that it's in the middle of.

That's what I was referring to about the leadership methods.

Thank you for the post.

I see what you're talking about, and I think the truth stands somewhere between what both of us were saying. Russian planning shows their leadership has many options and aren't stupid, but (at least to me) clearly initiative and independent thinking isn't their forte. And in Western terms, I think the later traits are considered essential for good NCOs and developing junior officers.

This has really been an interesting discussion.

@Ulfr-Reich: Although upon some reading, I can't say why would you want one. The Israelis armour theirs, as does the US military now, but being one-person vehicles charge with moving dirt or something they aren't really meant for combat. Are we talking 21st century military tractors?

alright guys, so i'm thinking this for my basic squad (there will be variations, such as heavy, anti-tank, door-breaching etc.):

Divisão (Squad):

Sub-divisão(Fireteam) A:

- Líder de Divisão (Squad leader): FA03A4 rifle
- Fuzileiro (Rifleman): FA03A4 rifle
- Granadeiro (Grenadier): FA03A4 rifle w/ 40mm UGL
- Metralhador (Machinegunner): LMG (which i haven't decided yet)
- Fuzileiro-assistente (assistant-rifleman): FA03A4 rifle, extra ammunition for LMG

Sub-Divisão(Fireteam) B:

- Líder de Sub-Divisão (fireteam leader, 2nd in command): FA03A4 rifle
- Atirador De Elite (Sharpshooter): IMBEL PARA-FAL battle rifle with 4x scope
- Granadeiro (Grenadier): FA03A4 rifle w/ 40mm UGL
- Metralhador (Machinegunner): LMG (which i haven't decided yet)
- Fuzileiro-assistente (assistant-rifleman): FA03A4 rifle, extra ammunition for LMG

thoughts?

Damn right. I also plan on flashing up the Ulfran ritual dagger used by the Krigprestur. Think bone from a sea-beast, bronze and hide taken from either a mammut or a Dauði-Ülfa.

The talk of militarized tractors reminds me of this one time I was playing Arma 2 and we commandeered a bunch of tractors after our Humvees got knocked out in an ambush and we continued to the objective in a tractor convoy.
