they could be good for garrison troops in recently occupied areas, but apart from that and the odd special forces team use is limited in the modern day

Really, as someone who takes extra care to design every piece of equipment my army uses I still feel combat shotguns are niche enough to just buy off the shelf in which ever hunting store offers my army the best discount.
