The army in Gandoor is rather small, having about 35,000 active troops and about 54,000 reserves. This is due to the fact that the primary focus on our military is self-defence, not aggression.

Our total military forces is about 138,000 with about 55,000 active and about 83,000 reserve.

The vehicles used are SMT's (Saber Military Transports), APC's with a armor of 2 cm of high-grade titanium. The light version is armed with Browning M2 machineguns, the heavy version is armed with a heavy canon.

The Arztoztkan armed forces are composed of exactly 1,468,093 in every branch of the AAF (Army, Navy, and Air Force), and the entire population, excluding the youth of course (until the 17 years of age, when they're eligible for military service), are able to defend themselves, mostly because Arztoztka has a compulsory military service policy, policy that is ancient and can be traced back to the Old Days.

Conscripts undertake a year of military service, in which they spend the first 3 months on basic training, that gives them experience in a wide range of areas, as marksmanship, reconnaissance, simple mechanics, hand-to-hand combat, civil craft advanced operation, advanced driving, improvised combat, as well tactics and strategy creation.

After this trimester, conscripts take a written exam and a physical exam, exams that will sort them in a branch of the AAF, and what role are they going to play. However, conscripts can also select their role and branch if they wish. The remaining 9 months are spend in more occasional training, but this depends on the officer they got assigned to.

At the end of this year, Arztoztkans are guaranteed to be able to defend themselves and their country. Also, conscripts receive an economic motivation throughout this year, this can increase if they score higher on the exams.

Through the course of Arztoztka's history, only 7 men refused to participate in the AAF, but ended up serving Arztoztka in other ways. Because of this, Arztoztkans can also be conscripted in the Military Police, the Fire-fighters, Medical Service, and Rescue Service.

Regarding vehicles, aircraft and ships, Arztoztka does posses an exuberant amount of them in all branches, and it appears that these are good quality, even retired vehicles are able to keep working, only requiring minimal or even improvised repairs. With the creation of glass steel (transparent steel that it is obviously bullet-proof since it still has the durable properties of the metal), one could say that Arztoztkan vehicles are extremely safe. Also, transport has top-notch instruments on them, and with the compulsory wrist-computer, an Arztoztkan soldier is never lost (these are given at the age of 10, and are worn on the wrist, these computers act as an advanced smartphone. Military also uses them, and gives useful modifications).

[Zhouran]

The Zhouranese People's Army is the military of the People’s Republic of Zhouran.

The ZPA was established on September 9, 1956, following the victory of the People’s Front after the Zhouranese Civil War. From its establishment, the Zhouranese People's Army was an unwieldy, 1 million strong army. At the start of 1957, demobilization of ill-trained or politically unreliable troops began, resulting in the reduction of military strength to 800,000 in 1959.

General Secretary Xia Peng and other military leaders recognized the need to transform the ZPA, essentially an infantry army with limited mobility, logistics, ordnance, and communications, into a modern military force. In late 1960, Marshal Peng Luo, who was Chairman of the People's Defense Council at that time, had made plans for military modernization, with General Secretary Xia Peng approving the plan. Aircraft and ordnance factories and shipbuilding facilities were constructed and by 1968 were producing a wide variety of military equipment. The ZPA’s manpower also grew. Military spending was kept low, so that other resources could be used for economic growth. This practice continues today.

The Zhouranese People’s Army has developed and possessed weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons. Zhouran’s first nuclear test took place in 1979 and the first hydrogen bomb test occurred in 1981. Tests continued until 1996 when Zhouran signed the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT). All Zhouranese nuclear weapons are controlled by the Strategic Artillery Unit of the Zhouranese People’s Army Ground Force.

In 1970, the Zhouranese People's Army active service was kept below the 10 million mark. During the 1970s, and increasingly in the 1980s, the ZPA achieved new standards of mobilization times and combat readiness. Currently about 85% of all ZPA units are on constant alert and trained to depart within 30 to 50 minutes from their bases. Mobilization of reserves can be completed within an hour. These unprecedented levels of combat readiness are considered the major asset of Zhouranese military deterrence.

There is a policy that allows citizens of Zhouran that are joining the military to secure special privileges, such as getting paid with large amounts of money and luxury goods. Additionally, all family members are guaranteed employment while any one of them is serving in the Zhouranese People's Army.
