Internet censorship in your country

Postby Hatsunia » Sat Dec 07, 2013 5:23 pm

Because freedom of speech and expression is protected by the Hatsunese constitution, the Internet is not censored in Hatsunia.

The common law and most statutes do not apply on the Internet. On the one hand, one is completely free to slander and threaten on the Internet; on the other, one has no legal rights or protection on it either.

Internet is brutally censored to the point there's no access to it in Evrai. Only an 'intranet' that is chock-full of religious indoctrination and propaganda and is strictly monitored and censored itself is available to the citizens of Evrai. Don't want the faithful to see any lewd things or something that muddles their belief in Lord Eva!

Honestly, so few citizens have computers. We don't censor the internet.
This nation does not feature my views. But when it comes to stuff like LGBT and Religion, this nation shares my views on those.

My nation is filled with plant people and naturist humans. Because realism is lame!

Beiluxia is relatively free of internet censorship, with a few exceptions. The Beiluxian Rights and Freedoms applies to the internet, allowing freedom of speech, expression, organisation, and protest. The Beiluxian Government has advocated net neutrality since the early 2000s when the Democratic Socialists (DemSocs) formed majority Government in Parliament, prior to unofficial opposition by the Native Islander Party (NIP) that ruled over Beiluxia continuously for over five decades. The current three major parties, Alliance, Native Islanders, and (Parti) Océan all advocate for freedom of speech and expression on the internet. However, the Government bans any online material deemed too obscene (i.e. snuff films, child porn, etc.) or sensitive to national security (i.e. leaked classified documents from the Intelligence Administration). Internet advocacy groups have called for greater transparency from the Government after a few secret documents containing sensitive data have leaked over the years.

The Vakolicci refuse to censor the internet, as they believe that the government has no place in such things.

Furthermore, the Vakolicci government, as well as a large network of companies, have departments focussed on breaking down the firewalls that other nations have placed against internet freedom of speech. Also, an independent company has taken the liberty of brutally hacking the archives of record labels, tv stations, book publishers and national security agencies, and hosting them on a public website. This company receives a lot of government funding, and was recently given the award of 'internet piracy organisation of the year' last August.

The Internet in Sakatia is monitored heavily and censored to the point of almost utter uselessness, however their is the SakNet, which is Sakatias large network of Micro-blogging, news, shopping centers, and other numerous websites, which itself is strictly censored and monitored. Internet safety is taken very seriously in Sakatia, and the State Police have a very large unit dedicated to combating internet piracy, as well as child pornography, and dissidents.

When we're still young, our angels filter out a lot of the angel network. We don't get an unfiltered angel until we pass our Maturity tests.

[Mama adds: The nearest thing to an "internet" among my Children is their angel network, the wireless communication network that enables their telepathic abilities (and incidentally, my existence). My Children receive their first angels (communication devices that enable their minds to connect to the network) while still very young. Therefore their first angels have extensive filters on them to permit only age-appropriate communications. As they grow older and mature, they're allowed more and more access to the network, and by the time they pass their Maturity tests, their angels permit full access.]

Ditto. One loophole of this, however, is that it's not illegal to possess child pornography; it is, however, illegal to make it, due to age of consent laws.

Internet? What's that? We don't have that here in our beautiful socialist paradise. Why would anyone ever want to learn about the outside world?

The outside internet is banned in East Equestria, however, we do provide a network of state-run websites for our people to share knowledge and learn.
