Not a single state-owned media company, and not a singe regulation 'bout it
Left/Right: -4.00
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -8.05
Yep: Social progressivism, democracy, unrestricted free speech, market socialism, secularism, non-interventionist policies.
Nope: Conservatism (fiscal and social), fascism, authoritarianism, laissez-faire capitalism, imperialist policies.

Very loosely.

The media cannot...

-Openly urge violent revolution
-Report the true name of someone in formal witness protection.
-Report something that would get someone lynched or physically hurt, in most circumstances
-Tell outright lies
-Urge a jury to find someone guilty
-Show child or animal pornography

Surprisingly for an autocratic state, the media is 80% free and independent of government control beyond a ban on promoting Communist ideology.

The media is not state controlled. A tradition of freedom of the press and free expression exists within Afalia, and our dedication to the freedom of the press is one of the things which makes Afalians proud to be Afalians. The active role the Competition Investigation Bureau takes in the media industry ensures that large merges are usually prevented and independence of the media is maintained.

Of course the government of the Empire of Dai-Nihon controls the media. Who knows what anti-Imperial nonsense they would put out if we did not? Any nation that doesn't control the media in some respect is just setting themselves up for failure.

There is a Official Government Channel Called Trinity Capital, It Airs all Government Happenings, Bills Presented, Statements from Officials, Documents Signed and So on, and in Situation will Interrupt other Programming if Needed.

There is the On-Air Decency Act which created a Small Department that Regulates Television and Radio and If Needed Internet. This Prevents Television Programs from Stating indecent items on Decent Shows and on Radio, This does not stop what Channels a person watches what Station they can listen to or what websites they are allowed to go to. No matter how Despicable they are, Although Terroristic or Anarchist Stations Sites, or Programs are kept under Watch for Planning of Harming Citizens ( Exe: Website that tells you how to make a Pipe Bomb and Sneak into Embassies with them and to Detonate them)

The Aleckandorean Confederacy cannot legally claim to and/or actually control any public media, because that would be unconstitutional and reminiscent of authoritarianism.

However, because the media is full of bleeding-heart patriots only pretending to be neutral on their opinions, it can be said that the Aleckandorean government controls the media without ever having to do anything.

No, that is up to our political parties. Each party has its newspapers, radio, television programs, affiliated blogs, etc. just like they have their own churches, labor unions, sport teams, drinking establishments, etc.

There are independents, but they tend to focus on niche issues or audiences. On the other hand, subscription does often crosses party lines.

Yes. But intellectuals are smart and try to start their own newspaper publication, the often get little attention due to the public's fear of the blancos (secret police).

what "media"? we PROVIDE the internet. we do not know of any other of this "media" of which you speak.

and we don't "control" content. only forbid the "spoofing/faking" of legitimate academic certification sites.

also the sabotaging of the work needs lists, though both of these are generally handled at the regional rather then national level.
