Please give a brief description of your national ethnicities and culture: Serbian is the 'legal' ethnicity. The Serbian cuisine is relatable to Russian and Greek cuisine. The Serbian religion is Serbian Orthodox Christianity. Serbians are thought to have descended from Russian Slavs the Medieval era. The people are very involved in national service, and women typically join the military at the ages of 18-30.

Please give a brief description of your national history: The Balkan people have long inhabited the central areas of Casaterra. The first known groups of the Serbs were unearthed, and were found to be existing from around 1800 B.C. The Croats and Macedonians were unearthed and found to exist around 1500 B.C. The Serbian race, and both (Croat and Macedonian) sub races are from the Dinaric race category.

In c. 1250 B.C, all 3 ethnic groups by then had cooperated together to build societies, but however interracial marriage did not occur. The 3 sub races have had strong internal bonds, characterized by the need to stay together to defend themselves from nomadic raiders. Until about 1400 AD the 3 groups had begun interracial breeding, creating mixed ethnic groups.

Middle Ages
In 1046, the Balkan Territory was established. It was a collective government of merchants, farmers, laborers, and royalty. The Balkan Territory was essentially a continuation of the much smaller societies in the stone ages. The Balkan Territory was sparsely located and at the same time condensed together. The Balkan Territory since it's establishment had seen a large decrease in nomadic raids. In 1328 the government changed when nobility took hold of more political clout and wealth. The nation changed itself into the Balkan Noble Republic, a collection of nobility, each having their own varied autonomy in there regions.

Balkan Noble Republic
Established in 1328 by 7 large families and 12 smaller ones, became a nobility based republic, with legislation being passed by the noble families, not the lower classes. The process by which laws were passed, was complicated and unruly, as the government had no head, but a collection of many decision makers. In addition to this, there was no single army, just each families' hired mercenaries. The money was typically metal coins, all of varied measurement of weight, in gold, silver, or copper.

Kingdom of Balkan Counties
The Petrovich family climbed the ladder and became the most powerful family in the Noble Republic, leading them to hire large mercenaries, and assume control of the country. The Petrovich's exiled the 7 familes and absorbed their wealth. The 12 smaller families fell lower, becoming commoners. The 1669 Republican War forced changes into government, allowing commoners to hold the traditionally noble classes' senate. The monarchy has been disbanded in 1724 because of family infighting, though the Petrovich family is still around to current time, a family holding wealth and power. The Kingdom reformed in to the State Union of Serbs, Croats and Macedonians in 1902.

Republican War
In 1669 the wealthy aristocrats in the Senate continued to veto bills from the lower class controlled Congress, the bills would have ended taxes on farming tools, known as the Agriculture Tax, which the tax collected 3% on seeds and 7% on tools. On the 3rd time when the Senate vetoed, the lower class-held Congress left and refused to take office. The next week the Senate threatened to pass a bill with the remaining representatives in the Congress, drafted a bill. In response, the lower class Congressmen formed the Republican Army, 25,000 in strength, with pitch fork and bow mobs, whilst the government went into recess to mobilize the Balkan Army, 40,000 in strength, with pike and matchlock squares. The Battle of the Drina River ultimately decided the fate. 15,000 Republicans versus 10,000 Balkans ended in a startling defeat for the Army. In the next months, morale crashed amongst the Army and skirmishes became greater and greater in size. 1672 is when the Republicans stormed the Palace of Legislature, ransacking and burning it down. The Balkan Army surrendered and signed the New Tax Law, which ended agricultural taxes on farming tools and supplies, and lowered the tax on the sales of produce from farms and ranches. The year of 1673, was when the Senate Pay Law, which meant that senators would be paid a base wage, allowing all people who become elected to hold office. The new legislature was being built, and economic reconstruction began.

State Union of Serbs, Croats, and Macedonians
Established in 1902, the SUSCM is the predecessor to the UBS. At the time, the Kingdom completely fell apart in 1899, and the remainder of the 3 government's representative formed the State Union to bring stability to the region. Serbia, Croatia, and Macedonia then combined currencies, military, and bodies of government. Dissolved in 1925.

Unified Balkan States
The Unified Balkan States was a federation of 14 states, lead by a bicameral republican government. The country gave it's citizens a lot of liberty, allowed very free gun ownership, minimal government control on the free market, no speed limit highways, and very low taxes. It existed until 1977.

The plan was to evacuate the whole lot under a white flag of surrender, and the implied threat of naval shelling, but these were Islamic 'warriors' or whatever the heathen religion stated these soldiers were. The blistering sun shined down on the picturesque town, something out of a travelling brochure, but soon the whole picture would be burnt into a crisp by the implied shelling. "Arm the main guns." The seamen scrambled to man the stations to pelt the Islamic barbarians with 100MMs of shells, and to use the CIWS incase the OPFOR have access to ASMs. In the ships' well dock, the amphibious craft were loaded with squads of Guards, shock infantry that are known for opening fire right when the land. "Get ready!"

The Navy lieutenant then gave to order to start opening the door for disembarking. The BVP M-80s closed the hatches to keep the water from flooding in. "Disembark!" The hulls of steel sputtered out of the ship, heading for the sand. The enemy seemed to have RPG launchers, and were firing ineffectively at the M-80s. When the vehicle were in range, the autocannons lit up, cutting the first mud and sandstone houses to little more than stubs once 50M from the landing sites. The radio gave an decipherable "Dismount!". The Guards immediately dropped the doors and started the violent small arms fire. 7.62X51MM started to poke ridiculously large holes in the enemy positions, the ones that were cut to the foundation, that is. The Navy then started to lob the big pieces of metal and explosive at the rear positions of the enemy. The autocannons were almost out of ammunition, and so started the diesel cylinders back up to life to advance.

"T54!" The old Soviet piece of rust stopped dead in a street and blew a red-hot hole through a M80, one crew member burnt to a piece of charcoal. A private and a team of SACLOS missile operator returned the favor, except this time cutting down the savages with .308 assault rifles. The objective, the town marketplace was roughly 100M away, and so the even more condensed urban landscape meant that the vehicles had the stay behind, while they wait for logistical vehicles to bring more 20MM shells.

The infantry teams went in and out of houses, until one final grid/row remained. "Air salvo incoming, stay clear of the square." Air force pilots let the 23MM spin and launched the air-to-surface rockets towards the marketplace. Big plumes of gray and black smoke went up in the air, along with the debris of the now flattened ground. The infantry took the final positions, and engaged the last of the open enemy before they would go into guerilla warfare. Few casualties were taken that day, it was more like target practice.

General National Information

Formal Nation Name: The Illustrious Union of Nkawapota Islands and Associated Territories, as Commissioned by Her Serenity Empress Ndevako XXIII Whose Reign in Paradise Shall Last Till The Great Fiery Wrath of Aikūaikū Consumes the Earth
National Demonym: Nkawapota
Nation Population: 1.1 million

Please give a brief description of your climate and geography: Most of the Islands' territory appropriately consists of islands, all 600 of which fill the ocean to the south of Acronius. About 20 of them have enough land for large numbers of people, and hold about 400,000 in all; another 180 of them are only big enough for small villages, and about 400 of them are coral atolls or similarly uninhabitable islands. These places have a uniformly tropical climate, temperatures remaining around 70 to 80 degrees throughout the year. May to October are the wet season, with huge monsoons hitting the islands, while the rest of the year only has normal monsoons.

The mainland consists of a Pennsylvania-sized enclave in the continent to the west of the islands. This area is primarily tropical jungle, with touches of temperate forest and even prairies in the far west. Huge mountains can be found in the far interior, with the tips being some of the only places in the tropical region that get snow. Cities are clustered on the coast, as the terrain gets more and more impenetrable as one gets deeper and deeper in the country -- one single city, some small towns, and countless villages can be found there. Temperatures are similar on the coast as on the islands, although they vary more and more the farther west one goes.

Please give a brief description of your national ethnicities and culture: The ethnicities of the islands are primarily Haiapo, an offshoot of the original people who settled there and a very Polynesian culture. Outside of the cities, they remain primarily rural and conservative and are usually fishermen.

Inland, the ethnicities vary massively -- there's hundreds in the Kaiu Province (size of Greater London) alone. The most common is the Nkawapota, who make up 13% of the nation and the ruling family. The culture is very unique to the country, and besides the socialist policies of the government is very libertarian. Guns are not only common, they are a part of the national identity, and gunsmithing is one of the biggest parts of the economy. The country is very socially liberal; for example, weed has always been legal, the people's idea of socially acceptable is most of the world's idea of promiscuous and scandalous, and many things that are hotly debated elsewhere have been considered done and done for years.

Please give a brief description of your national history: The mainland area of Nkawapota was first populated around 7,000 years ago. about two thousand years after that, the Koioifu Empire was founded, and united a majority of the mainland and even parts of the islands. After a cultural renaissance, the empire fell 800 years later, and the mainland was divided into its different ethnicities. 200 years later, the Ndendeko Empire was founded, culture flourished, it fell some 500 years later, and a cycle like this continued until the year 1294.

On October 18, 1294, a contingent from the Lixyae Empire (modern-day Acronius) landed on what is today Acronius's Prospect Island Territory. The Hytompui had taken control of the mainland and had colonized the islands out there, including Prospect. They saw Acronius's landing as an act of war, but the national legislature (for the third time in 7,000 years, Nkawapota was a republic) ruled that a war would be too costly, given the (admittedly declining) power of the Lixyae. This allowed them to take control of the northern islands, which they still control to this day.

On July 19, 1297, a Lixyae soldier accidentally fired a shot at a Hytompui soldier. This led to a skirmish between the Lixyae and Hytompui on 'A'aoipo (modern-day Nkawapota's farthest-north territory), which spiraled into full-scale war. It only asted about four months, seeing as the Lixyae, who had lived in inland, temperate regions their whole life, were not prepared to fight on jungle islands against people who had lived their for hundreds of years; the islands were divided into places the Lixyae had built towns on and the ones they had not, and things were peaceful for a while. Nonetheless, some of Lixyae's enemies had aided the Hytompui, and after the war, the country was faced with the fact that they were no longer the only country in the world. Seeing the complications and dangers of the international world, they elected 84-29 to stay isolationist, a choice the vast majority of the people supported as well.

In 1493, a very xenophobic, nationalistic legislature was elected to the confusion of almost everyone, as the country had up to then been one of the most liberal in Atlas; it was later determined that it had happened through massive electoral fraud. After a 4-week struggle, the country was liberated, and in a landslide vote, Ndevako K-oipoiau was elected Her Serenity Empress Ndevako XXIII. She ruled for 59 years, and led the country admirably -- she has since been memorialized in countless statues, songs, and books, and there are sizeable cargo cults throughout the country that worship her and her family. After her death, her children ruled the country almost as well as she, and all was well as the Nkawapota Dynasty ruled. Note that, since the country was so isolationist, there were very few conflicts it was involved in until later, and likewise very little progress was made.

In 1873, Emperor Jaujau LIV had ruled for 4 years in one of the most unpopular emperorships since Ndevako's liberation. Communism had been first thought up in %%country%% about XX years earlier, and Puto Fa'api, who had gone there as one of the first Nkawapotans to leave the country ever, had been introduced to it there, and saw an opportunity to make Nkawapota the best country in Atlas. He mobilized the peasants, and in 8 years and after intense fighting, the government had been overthrown and replaced with the Workers' Union of Nkawapota. The country ran close to %%firstcommunist%% had intended, given that it was still mostly rural, albeit a bit conservatively. Nonetheless, healthcare, women's rights, and education went up massively, bringing Nkawapota more recognition.

(idk what i'll do from here, but p much nkawapota gets involved in a war, loses, commie government becomes unpopular, and the nkawapotan empire is refounded under a popular national leader and direct descendant of ndevako; however, to keep the people happy, the country stays the same, albeit with an emperor, and slowly transitions to a sweden-like social democracy we see today. culture mostly stays the same though, and while they are no longer isolationist, nkawapota is neutral in every single war since the renewal of the empire)

Please give a brief description of your climate and geography: Most of the Islands' territory appropriately consists of islands, all 600 of which fill the ocean to the south of Acronius. About 20 of them have enough land for large numbers of people, and hold about 400,000 in all; another 180 of them are only big enough for small villages, and about 400 of them are coral atolls or similarly uninhabitable islands. These places have a uniformly tropical climate, temperatures remaining around 70 to 80 degrees throughout the year. May to October are the wet season, with huge monsoons hitting the islands, while the rest of the year only has normal monsoons.

The mainland consists of a Pennsylvania-sized enclave in the continent to the west of the islands. This area is primarily tropical jungle, with touches of temperate forest and even prairies in the far west. Huge mountains can be found in the far interior, with the tips being some of the only places in the tropical region that get snow. Cities are clustered on the coast, as the terrain gets more and more impenetrable as one gets deeper and deeper in the country -- one single city, some small towns, and countless villages can be found there. Temperatures are similar on the coast as on the islands, although they vary more and more the farther west one goes.

Please give a brief description of your national ethnicities and culture: The ethnicities of the islands are primarily Haiapo, an offshoot of the original people who settled there and a very Polynesian culture. Outside of the cities, they remain primarily rural and conservative and are usually fishermen.

Inland, the ethnicities vary massively -- there's hundreds in the Kaiu Province (size of Greater London) alone. The most common is the Nkawapota, who make up 13% of the nation and the ruling family. The culture is very unique to the country, and besides the socialist policies of the government is very libertarian. Guns are not only common, they are a part of the national identity, and gunsmithing is one of the biggest parts of the economy. The country is very socially liberal; for example, weed has always been legal, the people's idea of socially acceptable is most of the world's idea of promiscuous and scandalous, and many things that are hotly debated elsewhere have been considered done and done for years.

Please give a brief description of your national history: The mainland area of Nkawapota was first populated around 7,000 years ago. about two thousand years after that, the Koioifu Empire was founded, and united a majority of the mainland and even parts of the islands. After a cultural renaissance, the empire fell 800 years later, and the mainland was divided into its different ethnicities. 200 years later, the Ndendeko Empire was founded, culture flourished, it fell some 500 years later, and a cycle like this continued until the year 1294.

On October 18, 1294, a contingent from the Lixyae Empire (modern-day Acronius) landed on what is today Acronius's Prospect Island Territory. The Hytompui had taken control of the mainland and had colonized the islands out there, including Prospect. They saw Acronius's landing as an act of war, but the national legislature (for the third time in 7,000 years, Nkawapota was a republic) ruled that a war would be too costly, given the (admittedly declining) power of the Lixyae. This allowed them to take control of the northern islands, which they still control to this day.

On July 19, 1297, a Lixyae soldier accidentally fired a shot at a Hytompui soldier. This led to a skirmish between the Lixyae and Hytompui on 'A'aoipo (modern-day Nkawapota's farthest-north territory), which spiraled into full-scale war. It only asted about four months, seeing as the Lixyae, who had lived in inland, temperate regions their whole life, were not prepared to fight on jungle islands against people who had lived their for hundreds of years; the islands were divided into places the Lixyae had built towns on and the ones they had not, and things were peaceful for a while. Nonetheless, some of Lixyae's enemies had aided the Hytompui, and after the war, the country was faced with the fact that they were no longer the only country in the world. Seeing the complications and dangers of the international world, they elected 84-29 to stay isolationist, a choice the vast majority of the people supported as well.

In 1493, a very xenophobic, nationalistic legislature was elected to the confusion of almost everyone, as the country had up to then been one of the most liberal in Atlas; it was later determined that it had happened through massive electoral fraud. After a 4-week struggle, the country was liberated, and in a landslide vote, Ndevako K-oipoiau was elected Her Serenity Empress Ndevako XXIII. She ruled for 59 years, and led the country admirably -- she has since been memorialized in countless statues, songs, and books, and there are sizeable cargo cults throughout the country that worship her and her family. After her death, her children ruled the country almost as well as she, and all was well as the Nkawapota Dynasty ruled. Note that, since the country was so isolationist, there were very few conflicts it was involved in until later, and likewise very little progress was made.

In 1873, Emperor Jaujau LIV had ruled for 4 years in one of the most unpopular emperorships since Ndevako's liberation. Communism had been first thought up in %%country%% about XX years earlier, and Puto Fa'api, who had gone there as one of the first Nkawapotans to leave the country ever, had been introduced to it there, and saw an opportunity to make Nkawapota the best country in Atlas. He mobilized the peasants, and in 8 years and after intense fighting, the government had been overthrown and replaced with the Workers' Union of Nkawapota. The country ran close to %%firstcommunist%% had intended, given that it was still mostly rural, albeit a bit conservatively. Nonetheless, healthcare, women's rights, and education went up massively, bringing Nkawapota more recognition.

Please give a brief description of your climate and geography: Moravia-Rezekne is a large, coastal nation. For simplicity, the nation is split into three geographic regions - South, Central and Coastal regions. The south of the country, which borders Novibirsk and Stasnov, is a mountainous and colder region of the nation, home to the bulk of the mining industry as a result of the vast reserves of natural resources such as coal, iron, silver, gas and more. The southern regions are sparsely populated, although they generate 21% of the national GDP. The central regions of the nation are fertile, with flatter lands and hospitable environment for the growing of barley, oats and similar crops. Potatoes are an important crop grown here. The coastal regions stretch from east to west - All of the coast is included in this geographic region. It is densely populated, with about 75 million living in the coastal regions. It too is a highly fertile region, however much of the land is no longer farmlands but urban areas. Warm waters as a result of a current coming from the equator means coastal waters are usually not frozen, however the eastern seaboard has, as a result of climate change, seen some frozen waters in recent decades.

Please give a brief description of your national ethnicities and culture: The nation is split between Moravians (Czechs) and Reznans (Latvians). The nation is essentially split down the middle into east and west by the Ostrava River, with Moravia being to the west, and Rezekne to the east. The population split is essentially 50/50, with those who identify as Moravians compromising 45%%, Reznans 45% (5% - Both. 5% of the rest of the population is "Other"). Some estimates say atleast 35% of the population has at least one ancestor from the opposing ethnic group. There is no difference today between Moravians and Reznans apart from the language they speak natively(Although 96% of over-18s are fluent in both), with both groups having adopting each others festivals and traditions since the unified in the 1800s.

Moravia and Rezekne was, until the 1300s, inhabited solely by Reznan peoples. Little is known about the history of M-R up until this time, as most Reznan historical documents were destroyed in the war that came with the arrival of the Moravians. It is known that the capital was based from the city of Riga, which is now a Moravian city, and it was a very important port city. In 1335 Moravians, who were once native to regions in COUNTRY X before being driven north by invaders, then came and waged war, before finally an agreement was reached that Moravians had 'all lands west of the Ostrava [or the Valmiera as Reznans called it at the time]', whilst the Reznans were pushed back to the east. The city of Valmiera (now Ostrava), which lay at the mouth of Ostrava River in the north, was divided in two between the two nations as it had grown to be on both sides of the river. It became key in relations between the two nations, as both located their capital on their respective parts of the city. Whilst the nations were constantly at war throughout the 1300s through 1500s, they agreed not to attack each other in Ostrava. The two kingdoms engaged in constant war, before longlasting peace was agreed to in 1533 with the Ostrava Accord, which was forced to be signed by the people of both nations, who began to get on and were tired of constant war. Both monarchies were highly unpopular in the 1500s. resulting in a revolution in 1550 in Rezekne which toppled the King and replaced him with a parliamentary system, and in 1555 one occurred in Moravia, inspired by the Reznans, which too adopted an elected parliamentary system. Friendly relations began, and Ostrava became a 'united' city - Whilst the nations remained in control of their respective sides, the two founded a new port ran by the people of Ostrava. The people of Ostrava, from both sides, were granted a city council and were able to run themselves as a single city rather than two. As a result of peace, the two nations rapidly grew and flourished. They became each others top ally, and most important trading partner. As a result, most people in both nations became bilingual, and many people transited from one country to the other.

After 300 years of peace and prosperity, relations between the two was at its highest. A new movement emerged, which supported unification of the two republics to form a single nation. The two leaders, Ivan Kubka of Moravia and Ivanka Sudraba of Rezneke (Who interestingly was female, becoming the first female political leader in M-R) were highly popular in a time when the governments of both republics were deeply unpopular. The movement quickly caught on, and in 1830 a referendum in both nations resulted in a landslide result in favour of unification. An elected constitutional assembly was established to draft a Constitution for the new state, and in 1835 such a document was ratified by popular vote and M-R was born. The new state adopted an executive presidential system, and replaced the parliaments of the two nations with a Congress. Whilst it is mainly a unitary state, both countries had their own respective elected assemblies which governed over education and other local matters, and these assemblies exist today with even greater powers.

M-R rapidly industralised in the 19th century as it went through the Industrial Revolution. The resource-rich mountainous south became the most important part of the country - Thousands upon thousands of kilometres of railway tracks and tunnels were constructed linking mines in the south with industrial centres in cities like Ostrava, Opava, Sigulda and Ludza. What were once small mountainous villages and towns boomed as thousands migrated in search of work in the mines. And, in 1880, lives were changed forever for the better as the Children Act and the Worker Act were passed by Congress (the unicameral legislature of M-R which is elected every 5 years, and elects the President), which set set a minimum working age at 18, a minimum wage at 1 Mark/hour (In 2017 money, that was 5 cents an hour) and made education mandatory for children from 4 through 18. Workers were given the right to unionize, health and safety regulations established, and other protections for the worker were established. Many say this was a key point in Moravian-Reznan history, observing it showed M-R become a first-class developed nation at the time.

In the beginnings of the 20th century, Moravia-Rezekne was strong. A modern military and the widespread introduction of electricity coupled with a strong economy allowed it to be self-reliant and M-R did no participate in the FGW. Strong economic growth, rapid modernization and minimal poverty were terms used to describe M-R from the 1910s through to the end of the 1920s. However, in the early 1930s, this growth came to a grinding halt after signs of slowdown were observed in the late 1920s. The people, in a bid to safeguard their savings and earnings in fear of loss of work, stopped spending. En masse. Investors panicked too, causing a crash in the stock market. As a result of these and many other factors, an economic crash resulted. Unemployment sharply rose from the mid single-digits to a record high of 32% in 1935. This led to the election of populist, authoritarian, nationalist candidate Iveta Ozolina as President, becoming the first female President of Moravia and Rezekne and also second prominent female political leader, after Sudraba was a leader of the unification movement.

Ozolina quickly introduced vast reforms, some of which had positive results whilst others negative. Elections were outlawed and the opposition was suppressed, with her National Action Party becoming the sole legal part in M-R in 1936. In the early years of her 30-year rule which lasted until 1965, she introduced universal healthcare, state housing, and introduced radical protectionist economic policies. She helped turn around the rapid economic decline to a stable and growing economy, which eventually surpassed the size of the 1931 GDP in 1942. These early years, or the 'Golden Ozolina Age' lasted until around 1950, when the economy began to stagnate. In fear that the growing opposition may topple her, Ozolina came down hard and instituted a brutal, authoritarian regime. People were not allowed leave their respective provinces without authorisation, many people were tapped and being spied on, and approximately 1.5 million civilians were imprisoned for opposing Ozolina (60% of those were imprisoned for 'speaking negatively' of Ozolina, where the offence was merely making a negative comment on Ozolina) from 1950 to 1965. The economy was stagnant during this era of Ozolinas rule. Ozolina, believing an even bigger military was the key to remaining in power, with further expansion of the military from the years 1950 to the end of her rule. Eventually, in 1965, a coup was launched by factions within the military and was supported by the public, resulting in the overthrow of Ozolina and her government. Ozolina herself fled Ostrava, taking up residence in the mountains. It was not until her death in 1975 at the age of 80 her whereabouts were discovered.

Following the coup, the promised return to democracy by military leaders did not occur. Instead, the military appointed General Valdis Emsis as the new President, and replaced Ozolina's 300-seat Congress with a 550-seat appointed Congress, although Emsis was a mere figurehead as a President. All political parties and organisations were outlawed from 1965 to 1970, when the military established the Union Party. The economy fell into decline in 1967 where it would continue to stagnate and decline until 1986. Ozolinan policies of state housing and benefits were kept, although the healthcare system fell into disrepair, unemployment rose to a peak of 23% in the years 1972, '78, and '84. Nine hundred thousand people were imprisoned during this time for opposition to the military junta, of which five hundred thousand were executed. In 1976, Emsis died of prostate cancer, with Petr Vandas replacing him. Vandas was a stronger leader than Emsis, and a much better diplomat than Emsis and Ozolina. And, starting in 1980, he began to introduce democratic reforms, which put him at odds with the junta that supported him. In 1980, every registered town, village and city was granted the right to form an elected council, as well as a directly-elected mayor. Candidates did not have to be approved by the junta, although forming a political organization or party or group other than being a member than Union was illegal. Standing as an independent was not illegal, and was the choice of many. In 1983, freedom of the press and freedom of speech became law. In 1984, possibly the biggest reform of all and was credited with bringing down the junta, Vandas managed to pass a Constitutional amendment that meant 275, or half, of seats in Congress were to be directly elected. Two days after this amendment was announced and the first elections in nearly 50 years were set for the 1st of November 1984, the ban on political organizations and parties other than Union was lifted, and it was announced anyone could register to stand for election in their constituency. Elections meant that the military-appointed half of the Congress was pitted against a multi-party half, and the junta went into meltdown. Vandas, who was chosen by and supported by the military junta, now essentially had declared war on that junta. He soon announced that he would be seeking the support of the population to force the junta to relinquish power and for M-R to transition back to democracy. The junta collapsed, and in January 1986, the pre-1935 Constitution was reinstated.

M-R then transitioned back to a democratic state and also transitioned to a market economy. Congress' size was changed to 500 seats, with 250 seats allocated to Moravia and 250 in Rezekne. The office of President once again became an executive office and was popularly elected rather than appointed by Congress. The 1986 Presidential election, held on the 1st of October, was won by Vandas, who ran as an Independent, whilst 21 parties were represented in Congress, with the Farmer's Party and the Democratic Party coming joint first in terms of seats won, with 79 seats each. Over the next 4 years, the various parties in Congress would merge or form alliances, and eventually in early 1990 there were 7 parties in Congress, which today six remain as major parties: Farmer's, Democratic, Alliance, Labour, Justice, Moderates and Reform (merged with Moderates in 2001). An important thing to note was in 1990 Congress passed a Constitutional amendment that set that Congress and Presidential elections be held every 5 years, so after 1990 the next election would be in 1995. M-R's economy grew slowly during the period between 1986 and 1990, with heavy investment from overseas into the rebuilding of infrastructure. Many military bases were abandoned during this time, and they still stand today, empty. Vandas was re-elected in 1990 unopposed, whilst centre-right Farmer's gained control of Congress with the support of Moderates and Reform. Beginning in the early 1990s, M-R experienced an economic boom. Investment was at an all-time high, and exports were radically higher than imports. However, the political scene was yet again to be shook up, as in mid-1993 it was exposed that Vandas had bribed the opposition with state funds as so they would not support another candidate for President in 1990. In August of that year it emerged Vandas had illegally been using state funds to acquire himself a yacht, private jet and construction of a 20-bedroom mansion outside Ostrava. It also then became apparent Vandas was bribing media outlets to only report good news about him. Vandas' support collapsed, with approval ratings hitting an all time low of 0.5% in November of 1993. He was impeached by the unicameral Congress, and later convicted in a criminal trial, being sentenced to life imprisonment for abuse of power amongst other charges. President of the Congress, Nikolas Sobotka of Farmer's, was sworn in as President, who immediately cracked down on political corruption. In the elections of 1995, Sobotka was returned to office with 51% of the vote, having been supported by Farmer's, Moderates, and Reform, against Anna Parkanova (supported by Labour, Alliance, Justice, and Democratic) who garnered 49% of the vote. The F-M-R alliance, however, lost control of Congress to a Labour-led coalition with Alliance, Justice, and Democratic. The economic growth had slowed down at this point, but grew at a healthy 3.1% between 1995 and 2000. Sobotka became unpopular early in 1996 after he vetoed signing three bills (Worker's Rights Act, Employer's Rights Act, Protection of the Child Act), which were extremely popular with the people. He then declared he would not sign any bill supported by L-A-J-D into law, which caused his popularity to decline to the mid-30's by late 1996. He then reversed this decision in 1997, regaining some popularity, but his supporters had lost faith in him.

Please give a brief description of your national history: Parakos was indigenous to many natives who were aligned only to their villages and tribes. Their obsolete tech made it easy for the deserters of a major nation's navy, at the time, to divert from their war target and instead land on the island of Parakos where they would hide out until the war was over. Little did anyone know at the time that these deserters would raise families and eventually establish a city calling this island their home. The sailors amd soldiers didn't want to go back home. As they knew all too well what happened to deserters with the proper discharge papers.

Following the lead of their captains and officers they hired the natives using the remaining scrap and lumber from their vessels and conquered the small villages and burned the location where the tribes would conglomerate together. The first king of Parakos was a Captain by the name of Bastakos Galeo-Polis. Under his rule the island of Parakos would see hundreds of thousands dead as soldiers eradicated the remaining resistance. As time passed many officers would stake their own claim of the throne and war upon war would continue ro ravage the once peaceful island.

Foreseeing his kingdom broken before it had a chance to prosper King Bastakos would send an envoy with his last remaining sloop to an already established nation and ask for their assistance. And with the aid of foreign troops Bastakos remained on his throne and he thought the worst was behind. But alas, as most fledgling nations with the ability to grow luxury crops and valuable soil, the kingdom of Parakos was now infested with foreign agents stationed to ensure that Parakos island would grow for their trading companies and profit their presidents and senates.

King Galeo-Polis died of a misfiring rifle before he could see what was to become of his kingdom, and his legacy passed on to his son, whose mother was a native spinster. This again brought malcontent among the landowners and military.men as they saw a chance to gain power in an impoverished kingdom far from their original homes.

As his father once did King Istakos Galeo-Polis would call on foreign assistance in return for the nation's government being filled with their own selection of officials loyal to their own nation. Reluctantly King Istakos accepted and the face of Parakos island would be forever changed.

[I think it would be cool to do an rp of these events using nations from the region as the players. Their names could forever go down in Parakos history and the diplomatic struggle of Parakos finding it's independence would be fun to do at a later point in modern times.]

After that they are offered full time employment with the incentive being that you will not starve and be as poor as the farmers if you are a soldier. Families with only one child are excluded from the draft.

Please give a brief description of your climate and geography: Moravia-Rezekne is a large, coastal nation. For simplicity, the nation is split into three geographic regions - South, Central and Coastal regions. The south of the country, which borders Novibirsk and Stasnov, is a mountainous and colder region of the nation, home to the bulk of the mining industry as a result of the vast reserves of natural resources such as coal, iron, silver, gas and more. The southern regions are sparsely populated, although they generate 21% of the national GDP. The central regions of the nation are fertile, with flatter lands and hospitable environment for the growing of barley, oats and similar crops. Potatoes are an important crop grown here. The coastal regions stretch from east to west - All of the coast is included in this geographic region. It is densely populated, with about 75 million living in the coastal regions. It too is a highly fertile region, however much of the land is no longer farmlands but urban areas. Warm waters as a result of a current coming from the equator means coastal waters are usually not frozen, however the eastern seaboard has, as a result of climate change, seen some frozen waters in recent decades.

Please give a brief description of your national ethnicities and culture: The nation is split between Moravians (Czechs) and Reznans (Latvians). The nation is essentially split down the middle into east and west by the Ostrava River, with Moravia being to the west, and Rezekne to the east. The population split is essentially 50/50, with those who identify as Moravians compromising 45%%, Reznans 45% (5% - Both. 5% of the rest of the population is "Other"). Some estimates say atleast 35% of the population has at least one ancestor from the opposing ethnic group. There is no difference today between Moravians and Reznans apart from the language they speak natively(Although 96% of over-18s are fluent in both), with both groups having adopting each others festivals and traditions since the unified in the 1800s.

Please give a brief description of your national history:

Moravia and Rezekne was, until the 1300s, inhabited solely by Reznan peoples. Little is known about the history of M-R up until this time, as most Reznan historical documents were destroyed in the war that came with the arrival of the Moravians. It is known that the capital was based from the city of Riga, which is now a Moravian city, and it was a very important port city. In 1335 Moravians, who were once native to regions in COUNTRY X before being driven north by invaders, then came and waged war, before finally an agreement was reached that Moravians had 'all lands west of the Ostrava [or the Valmiera as Reznans called it at the time]', whilst the Reznans were pushed back to the east. The city of Valmiera (now Ostrava), which lay at the mouth of Ostrava River in the north, was divided in two between the two nations as it had grown to be on both sides of the river. It became key in relations between the two nations, as both located their capital on their respective parts of the city. Whilst the nations were constantly at war throughout the 1300s through 1500s, they agreed not to attack each other in Ostrava. The two kingdoms engaged in constant war, before longlasting peace was agreed to in 1533 with the Ostrava Accord, which was forced to be signed by the people of both nations, who began to get on and were tired of constant war. Both monarchies were highly unpopular in the 1500s. resulting in a revolution in 1550 in Rezekne which toppled the King and replaced him with a parliamentary system, and in 1555 one occurred in Moravia, inspired by the Reznans, which too adopted an elected parliamentary system. Friendly relations began, and Ostrava became a 'united' city - Whilst the nations remained in control of their respective sides, the two founded a new port ran by the people of Ostrava. The people of Ostrava, from both sides, were granted a city council and were able to run themselves as a single city rather than two. As a result of peace, the two nations rapidly grew and flourished. They became each others top ally, and most important trading partner. As a result, most people in both nations became bilingual, and many people transited from one country to the other.

After 300 years of peace and prosperity, relations between the two was at its highest. A new movement emerged, which supported unification of the two republics to form a single nation. The two leaders, Ivan Kubka of Moravia and Ivanka Sudraba of Rezneke (Who interestingly was female, becoming the first female political leader in M-R) were highly popular in a time when the governments of both republics were deeply unpopular. The movement quickly caught on, and in 1830 a referendum in both nations resulted in a landslide result in favour of unification. An elected constitutional assembly was established to draft a Constitution for the new state, and in 1835 such a document was ratified by popular vote and M-R was born. The new state adopted an executive presidential system, and replaced the parliaments of the two nations with a Congress. Whilst it is mainly a unitary state, both countries had their own respective elected assemblies which governed over education and other local matters, and these assemblies exist today with even greater powers.

M-R rapidly industralised in the 19th century as it went through the Industrial Revolution. The resource-rich mountainous south became the most important part of the country - Thousands upon thousands of kilometres of railway tracks and tunnels were constructed linking mines in the south with industrial centres in cities like Ostrava, Opava, Sigulda and Ludza. What were once small mountainous villages and towns boomed as thousands migrated in search of work in the mines. And, in 1880, lives were changed forever for the better as the Children Act and the Worker Act were passed by Congress (the unicameral legislature of M-R which is elected every 5 years, and elects the President), which set set a minimum working age at 18, a minimum wage at 1 Mark/hour (In 2017 money, that was 5 cents an hour) and made education mandatory for children from 4 through 18. Workers were given the right to unionize, health and safety regulations established, and other protections for the worker were established. Many say this was a key point in Moravian-Reznan history, observing it showed M-R become a first-class developed nation at the time.

In the beginnings of the 20th century, Moravia-Rezekne was strong. A modern military and the widespread introduction of electricity coupled with a strong economy allowed it to be self-reliant and M-R did no participate in the FGW. Strong economic growth, rapid modernization and minimal poverty were terms used to describe M-R from the 1910s through to the end of the 1920s. However, in the early 1930s, this growth came to a grinding halt after signs of slowdown were observed in the late 1920s. The people, in a bid to safeguard their savings and earnings in fear of loss of work, stopped spending. En masse. Investors panicked too, causing a crash in the stock market. As a result of these and many other factors, an economic crash resulted. Unemployment sharply rose from the mid single-digits to a record high of 32% in 1935. This led to the election of populist, authoritarian, nationalist candidate Iveta Ozolina as President, becoming the first female President of Moravia and Rezekne and also second prominent female political leader, after Sudraba was a leader of the unification movement.

Ozolina quickly introduced vast reforms, some of which had positive results whilst others negative. Elections were outlawed and the opposition was suppressed, with her National Action Party becoming the sole legal part in M-R in 1936. In the early years of her 30-year rule which lasted until 1965, she introduced universal healthcare, state housing, and introduced radical protectionist economic policies. She helped turn around the rapid economic decline to a stable and growing economy, which eventually surpassed the size of the 1931 GDP in 1942. These early years, or the 'Golden Ozolina Age' lasted until around 1950, when the economy began to stagnate. In fear that the growing opposition may topple her, Ozolina came down hard and instituted a brutal, authoritarian regime. People were not allowed leave their respective provinces without authorisation, many people were tapped and being spied on, and approximately 1.5 million civilians were imprisoned for opposing Ozolina (60% of those were imprisoned for 'speaking negatively' of Ozolina, where the offence was merely making a negative comment on Ozolina) from 1950 to 1965. The economy was stagnant during this era of Ozolinas rule. Ozolina, believing an even bigger military was the key to remaining in power, with further expansion of the military from the years 1950 to the end of her rule. Eventually, in 1965, a coup was launched by factions within the military and was supported by the public, resulting in the overthrow of Ozolina and her government. Ozolina herself fled Ostrava, taking up residence in the mountains. It was not until her death in 1975 at the age of 80 her whereabouts were discovered.

Following the coup, the promised return to democracy by military leaders did not occur. Instead, the military appointed General Valdis Emsis as the new President, and replaced Ozolina's 300-seat Congress with a 550-seat appointed Congress, although Emsis was a mere figurehead as a President. All political parties and organisations were outlawed from 1965 to 1970, when the military established the Union Party. The economy fell into decline in 1967 where it would continue to stagnate and decline until 1986. Ozolinan policies of state housing and benefits were kept, although the healthcare system fell into disrepair, unemployment rose to a peak of 23% in the years 1972, '78, and '84. Nine hundred thousand people were imprisoned during this time for opposition to the military junta, of which five hundred thousand were executed. In 1976, Emsis died of prostate cancer, with Petr Vandas replacing him. Vandas was a stronger leader than Emsis, and a much better diplomat than Emsis and Ozolina. And, starting in 1980, he began to introduce democratic reforms, which put him at odds with the junta that supported him. In 1980, every registered town, village and city was granted the right to form an elected council, as well as a directly-elected mayor. Candidates did not have to be approved by the junta, although forming a political organization or party or group other than being a member than Union was illegal. Standing as an independent was not illegal, and was the choice of many. In 1983, freedom of the press and freedom of speech became law. In 1984, possibly the biggest reform of all and was credited with bringing down the junta, Vandas managed to pass a Constitutional amendment that meant 275, or half, of seats in Congress were to be directly elected. Two days after this amendment was announced and the first elections in nearly 50 years were set for the 1st of November 1984, the ban on political organizations and parties other than Union was lifted, and it was announced anyone could register to stand for election in their constituency. Elections meant that the military-appointed half of the Congress was pitted against a multi-party half, and the junta went into meltdown. Vandas, who was chosen by and supported by the military junta, now essentially had declared war on that junta. He soon announced that he would be seeking the support of the population to force the junta to relinquish power and for M-R to transition back to democracy. The junta collapsed, and in January 1986, the pre-1935 Constitution was reinstated.

M-R then transitioned back to a democratic state and also transitioned to a market economy. Congress' size was changed to 500 seats, with 250 seats allocated to Moravia and 250 in Rezekne. The office of President once again became an executive office and was popularly elected rather than appointed by Congress. The 1986 Presidential election, held on the 1st of October, was won by Vandas, who ran as an Independent, whilst 21 parties were represented in Congress, with the Farmer's Party and the Democratic Party coming joint first in terms of seats won, with 79 seats each. Over the next 4 years, the various parties in Congress would merge or form alliances, and eventually in early 1990 there were 7 parties in Congress, which today six remain as major parties: Farmer's, Democratic, Alliance, Labour, Justice, Moderates and Reform (merged with Moderates in 2001). An important thing to note was in 1990 Congress passed a Constitutional amendment that set that Congress and Presidential elections be held every 5 years, so after 1990 the next election would be in 1995. M-R's economy grew slowly during the period between 1986 and 1990, with heavy investment from overseas into the rebuilding of infrastructure. Many military bases were abandoned during this time, and they still stand today, empty. Vandas was re-elected in 1990 unopposed, whilst centre-right Farmer's gained control of Congress with the support of Moderates and Reform. Beginning in the early 1990s, M-R experienced an economic boom. Investment was at an all-time high, and exports were radically higher than imports.

To confirm that you are Paradisiam would you mind posting here or sending me a tg with that account so we can make sure it's you? Also, when we ask for "moderation history", we mean if you've been given warnings by NS moderators, banned, etc. In terms of IC and RP stuff, your GDP and such can be worked out when you enter the region, so that's fine for now. I just ask that you try and give a rough estimate of your military numbers though. If you need help with that just ask. The phone rang off of the hook and was just as easily ignored. General Konsanthos was fired up for soccer season to start, and was even happier that he didn't have to share a T.V. like most families did in their shared living quarters. His estate provided not only it's own small theatre, but also his own set of 3-D glasses to experience the kick-off with incredible depth. A sip of foreign wine and a click of his remote led to a startling discovery. All across the field men and women refused to play in front of a sport's news-cast owned by the government. The plasma screen in front of him panned it's vision across crowds of people cheering and shouting as they threw rations and bright fountain cups only ment to show the world watching how luxurious it was to be a citizen in Parakos, on to the freshly mowed grass of Mocha-Cola stadium. The cups had nothing in them, but it would still come out of their earnings that's for sure.

Guru General Dixon raced to his bumbling phone and picked it up only to be beraded and threatened by the President himself. Dixon had no words to give except the recurrence of "yes sir" and "sorry sir, it will be delt with."

Military base Hufflepuff, Command center for intelligence and anti-terrorism.

Hollow pings rang across a cement wall as loud thuds fell against the cold dirt. The screaming was barely a concern to the general as he had more than just incompetent intelligence personnel to deal with today. Somehow and someway, foreign interventionists had managed to organize clusters of armed Parakosians all across the island. This realization of current events made him sick. Not only was it in his duties as general to study how foreigners once brought corruption to Parakos, but if he did not do something about this in a significant and calculable way, he would lose his position as Guru General and may even lose his estate, his wife, or worse his life. His cousin wasn't known for being in anyway merciful, not even to his own family. The only reason Konsanthos was chosen for this position was because he aided in moving troops away from the fighting when President Kero needed the upper hand. He was a traitor to his father, but he wouldn't let himself be known as a traitor to his country and family by allowing these rebels to overthrow the wealth he had aquired for himself and his loved ones.

"Contact all officers and majorly populated bases and have all personnel report to their stationed bases." The general said as he adjusted his now thinning hair.

"Yes your honor general sir." a uniformed and frightened man shouted as he made the appropriate calls to the rest of the command center's staff.

Elsewhere

Part-time farmers and young men, as well as old, were greeted by paramilitary and given instructions as to where to report. Many looked surprised as they never thought they would actually have to report for anything more than boot camp and eat on governmental military rations every now and then. Across majorly populated cities radios blasted from electrical posts and demanded soldiers travel to their designated areas for further instruction. Homesteads were called and many played hookey, but visits from military enforcement regiments forced the military service on the young men as their mothers cried and prayed.

As the soldiers, now dressed in bright palm-tree green fatigues and orange wool caps, piled into the concrete amd wire fence bases. Few knew why they were called as all information regarding a rebellion was suppressed to the general populace. This could hsve gone on for a long time if the live viewing of the soccer tournament wasn't such a display of obvious foreign treachery. And to this the state had to react. Filled barracks were as common to see as empty ones. To this notion it was obvious to the Parakos government that some of these soldiers must have either deserted or joined the enemy. This was no time to speculate as everything the government stood for was being challenged. Anyone suspected of traitorous intent, or even related to known rebels would be shot or imprisoned at the commanding officer's discretion.

Please give a brief description of your climate and geography: Temperate to cool climate, some hills, plenty of farmlands and plenty of forests. Some mountainous borders, some highlands around those, and some rivers and lakes. A perfectly picturesque country, with the environment being one of the few things really going for it.

Please give a brief description of your national ethnicities and culture: There's a patchwork of different ethnicities living in one area, with the cities being more Germanic and the countryside being more Slavic, and the areas in between being a little bit of a mix between the two. In the northwest, there's Turks that are the last remnants of an empire gone past. Some ethnic tensions are around there, and the whole country has somewhat of a feeling of being on edge, but it's stayed together so far. The culture is disjointed and some say that the country doesn't have a culture, because it's really made of different groups that were forced together by circumstance and not by want. But through it all, the country has just enough unity to stay together, even if they hate each other and would rather split up and go their own way.

Please give a brief description of your national history: The roots of this country can be found in the various kingdoms that it was created from, but those kingdoms wouldn't last forever and they would see themselves fall to the Turkish clans to the northwest that would unify the region into one Kingdom of Talonia. The monarchy would last the longest of any of the ages of the country, but again, it wouldn't last forever. The 1934 August Uprising would see Kingdom overthrown and would see various forms of government take its place: fascism, communism, democracy. By the time the current form of government was ready to rise up in 1992, democracy was once again the official ideology. However, the Social Party would dispute election results and create a civil war that nearly tore the nation apart, but that finished up in 1993 and saw a new democracy rise from the ashes that would stand to present time, one officially democratic but heavily influenced by socialism...

Political analysts predict the HDI of the country to drop dramatically and expect the country to not last into the next two decades without splitting into three parts.

Please give a brief description of your climate and geography: The Commonwealth, as it is commonly referred to by the international community, is composed of many islands, of which three are major landmasses compared to the rest. Most of the islands are located within the central Isten Chain, but there are several other islands further away. In the Isten Chain, the largest island is Arden, and the southernmost largest island is Paiden. Surrounding them are a mix of big islands and long island chains, providing cover from the tumultuous sea beyond. The island chains moderate sea surface patterns and undersea currents so that, despite no volcanic activity for several millions of years, the islands face little to no coastal erosion. The interior of the larger islands is mainly flat, with low hills in the very center. The weather is mild, with an estimated 94 days of cloud cover and 53 days of precipitation. (Days refers to any distinct period of technical daylight that had the characteristic of being considerably cloudy or rainy, as opposed to sprinkles or light, spotty clouds.) Average temperatures range from 65 to 79 in the winter months and 74 to 87 in the summer months. Extremes have been recorded, where the lowest temperature was 41 and the highest was 105. (All temperatures in Freedom Units™.)

Please give a brief description of your national ethnicities and culture: Basically anything in the British Isles goes. Arden will model after Great Britain (except Wales) and Paiden will model after Ireland.

Please give a brief description of your national history: The islands were left unsettled for most of history, and were not discovered until the early 900s by [COUNTRY]'s explorers. Its location was forgotten until [COUNTRY]'s explorers rediscovered it in the mid-1500s and settled it. The Isten islands were populated lightly by Anglo settlers until the late 1600s, when gold was discovered in the interior of Arden Island. To preserve the natural beauty of the islands, excavations were performed underground. In the mid 1700s, Irish settlers arrived, mostly populating the southern Paiden Island. This separation of two groups gave birth to a fierce rivalry that spawned two civil wars and would not be quelled until the early 1900s, at the onset of the World Wars.

The Islands grew in wealth, and invested their earnings in universities, medical facilities, communal facilities, and urban ventures. What followed was a population boom in the early 1800s, matching the pace of urbanization, innovation, and infrastructure development. By the end of the 1800s, the islands were on par with many of the world's most modern nations in many departments (bar the military). The world wars did not discourage the islands from their continued growth, and in fact, encouraged it, as it became a center for financial investment. There were a few run-ins with belligerent powers that approached the islands, but they were quickly repelled by its financial benefactors. Following the wars, the islands discovered oil reserves within their EEZ, and promptly set out to extract those for trade in the global community.

How would you describe the political climate in your nation?: Given the economic wealth of the islands, economic politics is aimed at introducing regulations to ensure that capital in the Commonwealth is not being recklessly used, as to lengthen the possible period of economic prosperity. A simple mistake could bring everything crashing down, says the ruling Conservative Party. The Liberals in the Commonwealth advocate investing their money into programs and ventures across the world as to increase their wealth tenfold. However, such politics have been soundly rejected by the Commonwealth for several decades. On the social side of politics, both major parties agree that social politics should largely be left alone, in an almost libertarian fashion. However, there continue to be some strict regulations on several things that the international community may not find libertarian, as a deviation from the rest of the social policy they hold - such as controlled substances, religious freedom, and gender and sexual identity and expression.

The political scene is dominated by the Conservatives and the Liberals, but there have been many smaller parties that have come in and out of existence over the years as major issues demand specific opinions. Currently, there are three minor parties holding seats in the national legislature - the National Conservative Party, which holds isolationist and anti-immigration positions, the Green Party, which holds environmentalist views and advocates for the abolition of rules pertaining to controlled substances, and gender-based expression, and lastly, the Freedom Party, which advocates for the rights of islands and smaller constituencies, trying to break down the larger national government in favor of the smaller governments. These parties, combined, amount to only 7% of representation in the national legislature, and have no representation in any other branch of national governance.

Please give a brief description of your climate and geography: The coast has a typical Mediterranean climate similar to RL Syria. A large part of the nation's agriculture happens in this region, especially near the Kurdū River Delta. In the interior the land is mostly desert except for fertile land near various rivers, as well as irrigation systems supporting the rivers, a large quantity of oil and other natural resources also exists. At the borders mountains exist that bring water to the major Kuringu rivers and fuel the nation with freshwater.
Please give a brief description of your national ethnicities and culture: The nation is multiethnic and highly diverse, with many groups living throughout the nation in relative harmony. The largest ethnic group is the Kurin people who are based on the Kurdish people who live in the Eastern coastal cities and the nation's interior. The second major ethnic group is our equivalent to the Arabs, who live near the coast as well as occupying many interior areas. Many other ethnic groups also live in the nation which will be defined in an iiwiki page.
The culture of Kuringustan is based on the one in Rojava, and has a tolerant diverse and communalistic culture. Many of the former hierarchies that existed previously were destroyed with the revolution making it an equitable culture as well. Kuringustanis are known to be very friendly and cooperative, and are deeply embedded with their communities, discussing the issues for their best benefits.

Please give a brief description of your national history: In 1920 NATION freed the Kuringu mandate from colonial rule after having to deal with a deadly war that bankrupted the colonial power(this can be driven back or forward as need be), and the instability that was caused saw a new corrupt administration take over in the new nation in a coup d'etat. While this new administration claimed elements of socialism, in reality it was run on fascist and pan Arabic principals and began to oppress the Kurin population. The new state also engaged in wide scale looting of the nation's oil reserves growing extremely unpopular. This boiled into the Kurdū Riots which saw the state clamp down and become increasingly repressive. Supported by Western powers a brutal secret police was formed, as well as a better army in exchange for Western basing, and control of Kuringustani oil reserves. In the later 1950s the Kurin population, which had been brutally repressed with various genocides in the nation's “Arabization” policies began to start organizing to build a new socialist nation based on the Stasnovan thinker Platonov Tikhon (Tisha)(he is based on the American thinker Bookchin). The Stasanovian Government had given his books free of charge to many a free years back, and they built up various communes as well as informing other people. By 1964 enough momentum had been gained for a full revolution in Kuringustan, and militias quickly defeated the weak little trained, and unmotivated armies of the previous regime. After taking control of the country in a revolution the Kuringu Councils worked with Stasnov to industrialize the country to protect socialism from being overthrown. The two nations signed the “Kurdū Aggrement” which would see Stasnov exchange machinery at a discounted rate in exchange for oil proceeds from Kuringu sales. Along with new Stasnov Advisors the nation built up and grew into a diversified industrial nation, with a high amount of integration with the VP. The market socialist system allowed the consumers to retain their surplus value and as such could invest a lot in consumption allowing the nation to easily break the middle income trap. Today it is a middle power in the region, with a diverse economy focusing on petrochemicals, plastics, petroleum, automobiles, and electronic component manufacturing.

However still just as in the beginning of the Kuringu​ Revolution the citizens play large attention into the politics of their communes and a nation as a whole, with many running “People's Houses” to discuss issues among the populace.

Building of Forigen Realtions, a few seconds after the coup

"Collapse" sighed Ellen (a worker observing EIS reports) "collapse". Another officer looked up "what?"
Ellen: "Collapse"
Officer: "Esotan seems quite quiet and calm no?"
Ellen: "The USJR has just fallen to a coup according to the EIS, they are planning to remove communism from the USJR" she handed over papers "hand these to the director, he's busy so he probably hasn't been informed her the happenings".

The official obligated to Ellen's request, but was puzzled with her lackluster reaction, "probably just tired" he thought. He walked though the massive halls of the building, built in a long time ago, and knocked on the directors office, and was accepted inside. The director showed an annoyed face, formerly working on his computer.

Director: "What's so concerning you need to come at this hour? We need to decide a VSSA response after all! They just added 3 members!"
Officer: "Sir, this may be suprising but the USJR has fallen to a coup d'etat", Director: "Surely that must be a false report​"

The officer handed over the papers, and the Director suddenly appeared shellshocked recognizing it was real. "L-let me think and formulate a response, inform the People's Assembly and Politburo about this, but tell them to wait for the plan", the official saluted and walked out, wondering about the actions soon to be done.

The Director had a shocked look on his face, with absolute confusion instead, at first he thought they were just protests, but now...
Suddenly his landline began to ring, right from the Politburo and various MPs, he was moving in a state of disarray. He forwarded the call to another officer and got towards thinking, and planning.
He later got a call for a meeting, a bunker in the Aseran Mountains to maintain privacy. They needed to move in a few hours. A Government in panic...

"Fellow comrades, of the Assembly of the Proletariat, a new menace is growing expanding, the menace of facism. Spreading to nations all over Sunalalya, our very security is threatened, and the Revolution itself. In Rezua we are seeing an expansionist imperalist state, invading and oppressing for the bourgeoise quest for resources. In Corentia we have seen the fall of democractic, bourgeoise regimes, for facist ones. Regimes that... "
An black suited isolationist politican stood up from the crowd. He was angry, a face that seemed to be only waiting to burst steam. He began to scream right at Thijn

"So what! Are we to emulate the imperalists? To waste our money on enslaving nations! I think you know better than this Thijn! You should! These regimes will fall in a few years, with their crazy ideals the people will overthrow them. We will not be wasting the lives of innocent Esotanans, over what? That's right, to enslave nations!"

Soon the politican next to him began to disagree, then the next one, with that one. The room quickly became a fiery madhouse. Nobody could agree with his fellow comrade.

"SILENCE!" screamed Thjin

"Do you people understand what we are going though, facism! An ideology that sees the bourgeoise directly taking over a state, and enforcing it's will! In facism unions are crushed, the worker loses his power for a everpresent state. It uses fear to control, fear as we were back with the Monarchy! Facism sees the state becoming all powerful, and as a tool to crush the Proletariat. And no I am not NOT advocating for imperalism. We will not take over these states, we will liberate them and let their people decide. I'm simply trying to save Sunalalya, AND IF NONE OF YOU SEE THE DANGERS, then we can say goodbye to the Revolution".

The room fell silent. Later that day a vote was held, and a supramajority voted yes. What was to come, for them. Only the clock would give the answer.
