National Brothel Company

Slogan: Liberate Yourself
State Owned

The National Brothel Company is a nationalized company which controls all the legal sex works in the country.Any legal sex worker in CTALNH is an employee of the NBC and is protected by the government. The NBC has its employees in bars and strip clubs which have made deals with the NBC. To work for this company you must be 16 years or older, have citizenship of the country, and have no sexually transmitted diseases. Once you have the job you are given a license to show the police and customer that you a legal prostitute. Also frequent check ups are done to ensure that you do not have STD's.

Each sex worker is tested for HIV and other STD's. After that they are asked many questions such as if they are fine with threesome's, kinky stuff and the like. Depending on there answers they will only be licensed for what they wish to do but they have to at least be comfortable with intercourse. When someone gets a sex worker at the bar or hotel or some licensed area then the clerk asks what type of services they want. Depending on what they say they will get a certain girl or guy that is fine with that type of stuff. If the rules are not followed the sex worker can say that they were forced to work a sex job which they were not licensed to do. The clerk/business can be arrested by the police and sued by the National Brothel Company. In the end these licenses and specific sex services of the sex workers ensure they are not being abused as traditional gang prostitutes are.

Is Prostitution Legal in your Nation?
Yes.

If it is, is it regulated in any way?
Prostitutes must be so of their free will (sex slavery being illegal for the past 400 years), capable of legally consenting and all brothels must be at least partially employee owned. Street prostitution is illegal and escort services may only be done by a registered brothel.

If it is not legal, what does your nation do to the citizens that commit the crime?
N/A

What is the government's stance on the issue?
Prostitution improves morale and banning it would almost certainly cause rioting.

What are your citizens thoughts on the issue?
Very positive. VERY positive.

Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that support it?
The Church of Unending Pleasures is the primary patron of prostitution, providing guards and general security as well as business assistance to brothels.

Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that do not support it?
Multiple churches and cults do not support it, though almost always just for their own members. Mostly the ones that oppose prostitution oppose all forms of sex.

Is it important to the economy in anyway?
Not to the economy, but it is quite important for morale. Traefekans are a very passionate race.

Anything Else?
Traekun has a variety of perfected birth control methods, most involving magic. Most brothels have an agreement with a mage to teach these methods to the workers.
Male and female prostitutes are both legal and almost equally common, with female prostitutes being the slight majority of about 52%.

Is Prostitution Legal in your Nation? Technically, it's been legal since 1905, but since 2015, Prostitution is largely managed by government-influenced corporations, and private management of a prostitution agency is illegal, though individuals can become prostitutes without influence by corporation if they get a license following a short series of tests.
If it is, is it regulated in any way? Yes, the government itself works with prostitution corporations to provide sex workers with proper protection from anything that might harm them, from biological to legal. The government also works to make sure that sex workers are provided with workplace justice, and investigates abuse cases when they pop up.
If it is not legal, what does your nation do to the citizens that commit the crime? If a private sex worker is caught without a license, they are allowed to maintain their practices after a free STD test, and are given a license in 30 days if they can prove that they are deserving of a license. During this time, they are prohibited from prostitution, and their bills are covered by the government. Meanwhile, if an agency is caught, the sex workers are transmitted to a government influenced corporation and the agency will be investigated by the government.
What is the government's stance on the issue? While officially neutral, Empress Madeline has in the past deeply displayed her positive views towards the rights of Sex Workers being of utmost national importance, and the government views prostitution as something that needs to be regulated to protect the Sex Workers in question.
What are your citizens thoughts on the issue? Mixed, in the Southern three provinces (Connacht, Leinster, Munster) are in favor of it, while the Northern Province of Ulster is opposed. This is due to the ideological makeup of the north and south, with Ulster being more reactionary and traditionalist, and the south being more socially progressive.
Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that support it? The Corporation Bawdy-Dublin is one of the major government influenced corporations that manages Prostitution in Galway-Dublin. While the Ruling Party, the National Imperial Union, Supports the rights of sex workers as much as it does support the rights of other workers: Very much.
Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that do not support it? Catholics and other traditionalists in Ulster have the tendency to strongly oppose the practice and the protection of sex workers, but the government ignores their whining.
Is it important to the economy in anyway? Not really, the government helps Sex Workers and the Prostitution industry to provide for women from lower-economic classes, and to help them to find a way through life if they've taken the path of Prostitution to get through it.
Anything Else? Nah

Is Prostitution Legal in your Nation? No. As a longer explanation, it is not illegal to be a prostitute but it is illegal to employ the services of one.

If it is not legal, what does your nation do to the citizens that commit the crime? Solliciting a prostitue can lead to a short prison sentence.
What is the government's stance on the issue? The current government is firmly against any decriminalization of prostitution.
What are your citizens thoughts on the issue? Most people see it as something very bad, promoting the exploitation and dehumanization of women.
Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that support it?
Minor interest groups may appear but they generally don't get much support or publicity
Are there any major groups (Religions, Businesses, Political Parties, ect) that do not support it?
