The Church of Unity does not require spies; We follow these three steps to get information:
1: We kindly ask the target country to give us the requested secret documents.
2: If they don't, then we attack them.
3: Lastly, we find the information in the rubble of their city capital.

Of course we spy on other countries (friendly or otherwise) - we just don't tell them.
Please note: Central Lothian is the direct successor to Mid Lothian*. As a result, I am still called Rebecca, I am still a Grammar Nazi and most information pertaining to ML also applies to CL (although I will be taking this time to change a few things).

* - And I may refer to the country as Mid Lothian. If I do, assume that I mean Central Lothian. (And not to be confused with "Midlothian" - I'm using that as a fascist version of CL.)

In Tipidemica, some citizens feel that it is their duty to risk their life in order to obtain useful information that could help Tipidemica extend it's life. Although, usually most bits of information is from our fleet of trade ships that pass through systems and pick up secure and insecure comm chatter. When they do, they send it to the T.I.I.N. for further analysis and usually it is merely useless messages and tidbits of information. Although occasionally they do pick up something worth acting upon.
Please note: Currently our National Overview does not reflect our's nations politcal situation, but reflected our past one. Currently we are undergoing change and should have a new fact-book up as soon as possible.

It would actually be strange if someone as paranoid as Marians didn't spy on outsiders. Asides from learning their intents, Marians are more concerned about outsiders spying on them, so counter-intelligence is a priority over espionage.

It is also easier for Marians to spot potential infiltrators among them than to infiltrate themselves, since anyone with Marian upbringing would stick out in a foreign society like a sore thumb. Fortunately, that works both ways.

Yes, we are outnumbered, we have many enemies, and we are not as united as many of our neighbors, we must know our enemies' plans and we must weaken their plans however possible, whether it be spreading crime or pouring illicit drugs into their nation, infiltrating their government, or raising rebellions.

Continuing on from what our government has previous stated on this matter, maintaining an policy of neutrality and isolationism as an independent-minded nation has resulted in our nation having had over two thousands years of uninterrupted peaceful relations with the rest of the known world. Furthermore, with our nation at this current time having no hostile relations with any foreign power hence our people have no enemies to speak of. In addition, nor does our government/people feel the requirement to seek out alliances with the other world powers, resulting in no alliances either. With neither enemies nor allies to concern ourselves with, many world leaders could be forgiven for concluding our nation/government refrains from espionage, our people refrain from using that word-spy as we feel it has too many negative connotations, and they would be correct.

As such, our final word on the matter of espionage is this, our government continues to closely and carefully monitor world events and developments and adjust our policies accordingly.

Sincerely, Chancellor Wolfgang Muller, elected leader and representative for the Commonwealth Kingdom of United Earthlings

We don't spy on anyone
Kalaspia-Shimarata's flag represents the Union between K&S. The dark blue represents the sea and the light blue represents the sky. In Kalashi language considers light blue and dark blue to be different colours. England colonised, and unified K&S, between 1774 and 1953, and English, light blue and dark blue are considered to be the same colour. Therefore, the contrast between dark blue and light blue represents the union, but the differences between K&S where as blue being two but simultaneously one colour represents K&S being two, but simultaniously one entity. The opposite to the symmetry represents the unity and indipendance of K&S, whilst also representing the Kalashi culture of opposite symmetry.KS is 75% Christian, hence the cross.

Always. Every second of every day. There are more spies then military. Many people are employed by at least one espionage agency, and a large amount of those are double agents.

We have very very very small militia militaries. We compensate with assassins and spies.

I mean, uh, no, never. Of course not. And certainly no spies among your most loyal and trusted subjects. None there at all.

We are "not" trying to assassinate you. If you know what I mean.

Well, duhh. Following the traditions of totalitarian states worldwide, our spy network is rather ruthlessly effective. That secretary working in the office next door? He/she might be a PKVS agent.
