What are your nations policies regarding immigration? (Open to all, restricted to certain countries, or none at all?)

The Bjork Confederacy has a restricted immigration policy that is limited to the Nordic countries ( Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland) and no other countries' immigrants are allowed to emigrate to our country.

We have an open immigration policy, we will accept anyone who can make it to our territory.

Certain nations with extremist ideologies tend to provide us with quite a few migrants/defectors who are subjected to a detailed deep level psionic scan as part of their application to determine if they are genuine.
Defectors tend to be employed in their area of specialization and they are quite strictly supervised initially although the level of surveillance tends to drop over time as they prove themselves trustworthy.

We also accept escaping ex-slaves from other nations who are granted citizenship the instant they enter any part of our territory (this includes the interior of our ships) , they are also subjected to a detailed deep level psionic scan upon being escorted to one of our migrant welcome centers for security reasons. These citizens tend to prefer working in our farms or our factories , but it is not unknown for some to join the armed forces.

Few outsiders in this galaxy are desperate enough to even consider Imperium their destination. I mean, who would willingly want to be treated hardly better than a slave, subject to the whims of even the lowliest Sidh...

To begin with, only human migrants even stand a chance of NOT being blasted out of the sky on sight, and even so, they more often end up terminated as enemy spies than heard out and allowed to land on an Imperial world. Such a harsh policy is there for a reason - given the long-standing enmity between Sidhae and Mankind, any human attempting to enter the Imperium can reasonably be assumed either to have some very serious trouble with the authorities back home or simply be an enemy infiltrator. We certainly fail to see other reasons why someone would want to seek refuge among enemies of his race, and hence treat any newcomers with deep suspicion.

Now, assuming that these humans are allowed to land and settle, they would still be treated like dirt and subject to constant scorn and ridicule by their Sidh betters. They would have no rights, no welfare of any kind, their presence being simply (and barely) tolerated as long as they do not cause any nuisance. We do not see any obligation to provide uninvited visitors from an enemy race with anything, and think they should be grateful for even being allowed to live.

Since human settlement is forbidden outside designated areas, that means the newcomers would have to put up with life in overcrowded, dilapidated and filthy ghettos where the strong dominate the weak and where Sidhae occasionally show up to remind the human scum of their proper place in the pecking order. Any exceptions are made only to prominent defectors, although these too usually go straight for conversion rather than settle down.

Immigration into Molsona is a simple process. Before entering Molsona, all potential immigrants must send our Department of State an application for immigration status. After which, background checks and drug tests are done on the applicant to make sure they weren't convicted of any crime or have used illegal drugs. When the applicant passes those checks, they are admitted into Molsona and are interviewed on arrival to make sure that they will be able to work and that they are Christian.

Immigration is very restrictive in Ponylandes, as to preserve the culture and history of the nation. As a result, it can take upwards of 10 years to become a citizen of the nation, and have full rights under the law.

Its horrible. The border is heavil guarded. To gain rights to immigrate to Kaitjan you need about 20 documents from 3 diffrent ministries. The process of gaining them might take several years and are prone to fail border inspection control. Leaving the glorious nation is even harder, but who would want to do it anyway?

Immigrants must demonstrate a level of proficiency in English before being allowed in. This policy reduces the number of illegal immigrants in the country because you'll stick out like a sore thumb if you can't speak English. It's also the only language used by the government and is the formal language in the workplace.

To become a citizen, an immigrant must remain in the country for five to ten years before they can apply for it. Then, they must pass a citizenship test. If they manage to pass it, then they must swear an oath of allegiance to the Saurisian state and they can become citizens after a certain amount of time spent within the country. So long as they immigrate here legally, of course.

It's actually pretty easy to become a citizen. You must speak Sedik, language classes out offered for free at all Sedik diplomatic buildings. Then you must take a 20 question test and undergo a background check. After that your pretty much a citizen.

The Kingdom requires all immigrants serve a mandatory military service of 4 years to earn citizenship. Any illegal immigrant is shipped back to his or her country of origin unless it is a country we are at war with in which case war-time immigration policy dictates that they be held in internment camps to ensure they cannot act as spies who knew the policy of sending illegals back to their home country.

The Universal Immigration Act, 2011 or colloquially "new ladder" is an immigration policy which circumvents many pages, relating welfare, citizenship, international investigations and negotiations; it not only defines criteria for the immigrant, but extends to getting them straight into training, education, or work.

In order to have an easy entry into Woodstead, certain avenues will have to be pursued by the individuals via a government website; if a confirmation comes through, we are most happy to let them gain entry to their next step- the English and basic mathematics test for anyone over 17.

If someone enters with the same intention to seek asylum without notification or confirmation of access, the Airport Border Force can detain them for up to 10 days at a centre. Centres are like prisons, but detainees are permitted to roam at any time within the centre- they are basic living quarters with a communal kitchen and toilet; wardens, nurses, security, and welfare officers are employed to oversee the operations within. Within 24 hours of detention, embassies and/or heads of state will be notified if it is in the opinion that sending them to their home nation is not a risk to the seeker.

In cases where an 'illegal immigrant' is believed to be in danger, a centre can take the individual to court and settle them into the Woodstead Citizenship Programme along with those who applied lawfully. WCP may include enrollment into a reserve army, a jobs and apprenticeships programme, a citizenship test, and a skills assessment

We tend to officially accept and favour:

• Those who have fled from persecution and discrimination in their homeland.
• Those who have some history of having a trade or skill; if not, a more extensive history of employment.
• Those with a clean criminal record; crimes will be assessed from a Woodsteasian law perspective.
• Those who can speak a decent level of English.

At times, it is costly to provide a more relaxed approach to immigration, so any type of support or benefits, other than basic accommodation, are only to be applied for if the state receives proof of intense job-searching, after 2 years of passing the WCP. Since 2010, the Grand Expansion project has allowed legal citizens to work with them, and even those who are just gaining entry to the WCP. A wage will be fair, and equal to any other worker of that skill, though an extra 1% of tax will be deducted for 3 years.

In order to become an Imperial citizen, one must permanently live in Auzkhia for one year, demonstrate competent knowledge of either German, Italian, French, and Hungarian; the four working languages of the federal government, and then you must swear fealty to the Emperor and the Imperial and Royal government. Naturalized subjects can be stripped of Imperial citizenship and be deported to their country of origin. People who have refugee status or have defected from an enemy nation can be made a citizen immediately.
