Dunno.
I've just been exploring ceaseless actions recently, and so far a modified Steve ace action looks the most promising.

G11 is very space efficient, as it has a full length rifle barrel and a 50-round mag (iirc) but has no protruding magazine, and is relatively short.

Alternatively the Hughes (which is what my rifle is based on, a bullpup conversion of the Hughes), which is supposedly a lot simpler and more conventional to operate (not the operation, but it has a normal charging handle, etc.).

The LSAT is quite a bit different. Conventional piston, swinging chamber, conventional firing pin etc.

The Hughes is way simpler in operation when compared to the G11. It doesn't have the absurd clockwork or expanding two piece chamber and uses a more conventional piston operation.

The only problem I've run into with the Hughes is that it requires a space equal to the length of the cartridge behind the breech in order for the cartridge to eject - the G11 ejected straight below the breechblock, so you could have a longer barrel with the same OAL.

Have you looked at the Saritch 308 Buzzard? 720mm barrel and a full 100mm shorter than the M16. With a 600mm barrel, it'd only be about 700mm, which is about the same as an AK-74M with the stock folded.

Have you looked at the Saritch 308 Buzzard? 720mm barrel and a full 100mm shorter than the M16. With a 600mm barrel, it'd only be about 700mm, which is about the same as an AK-74M with the stock folded.

I have my own ideas anyway. Right now, I intend to use them on both my rifle and my next gen SMG. It's basically a RFB clone that's telescoped to hell and back. No need to get too fancy.

Don't worry. I also have a blow forward 7.5x4'something SMG in the works. And yes, that one is going to work as good as it sounds. (not very)
