Quite like two magazines attatched to each other, but using the same feed lips.

Casket on the right, drum on the left.
I found a take-down of the AK-74's casket magazine a while back, I'll see if I can find it again.

Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

Problems with both.

Don't issue a sidearm. They're useless and I'm surprised they've lasted this long in military service.

Pancor Hackhammer is a jamming bullfrog that never saw production.
Also if you want 7.62x51, use an AR-10 derivative with a stretched forward bolt carrier. Your soldiers' shoulders will be happier for it.

So, you wouldn't have it and not need it than need it and not have it? Good way to show your troops you care about them.

Quadstack mags aren't reliable, so I hear. At least not those made for the AR-15/M16 ( Surefire was it ? )

The Beta C-Mag is even less reliable iirc. How reliable are plain drums generally compared to good ol dual stack mags ?

Anything you'd need a pistol for, there are other weapons that do the job just as good without dragging you down with the sidearm.
Pistol ammo isn't weightless, and if you carry around a second weapon and it's ammo you lose ammo capacity for your main weapon.
Also, for tank crews PDWs are better than pistols due to increased firepower and range, whilst still being relatively compact.

The Jackhammer would be just for shits and gigs, tbh. Putting the usefulness (or rather lack thereof) of fully automatic shotguns ( or rather issuing any type of shotgun so vastly for military use ), if you really want to use one, just go US-style AA or Russian/Soviet Saiga 12.

True, I was justifying such a weapon for say, an officer. I have pistols issued optionally, they are available at greatly discounted prices however are not standard to many soldiers, however are standard to all heavy weapons crewmen, and vehicle operators. Of course my pistol is the Arch Mp-14 PDW.... so yeah.

I don't issue pistols.

I technically do have a standard issue pistol and always have had, over the course of my history, a standard issue pistol but it wasn't actually issued to anybody.
They saw service, though. From 1980-1996 if you were a tanker/pilot and the standard smg didn't really work for you, you could request an automatic pistol instead and chances are you'd end up with one.

question for the thread, How much could I get in say a Su-34 Cockpit where the eniterty of the cockpit ejected? (i'm not actually doing this to said craft, but I have a similar Idea with the same rough space) I would like to Incorporated some slightly heavier weapons. and was debating on issuing a pair of CC-M Taipan's with the 8" breacher barrel. along with a survival kit. and maybe an ultra light anti-tank weapon.
