Ancient History of Ekilionite Federation

100,000 BC: Ekilionites first reach the stars, Ekilion empire grows but lacks the rapid adaption and other traits of the successors.
91,000 BC: First Federation reaches its peak
90,000 BC: First Federation attacked by Xeno Armada from beyond the galaxy
89,860 BC: First Federation destroyed, origonal home world destroyed (location unkown), only survivors are a group of colonists, they lacked technology (colony was only a few months old), they renamed the planet Ekilion and were trapped at technology level for tens of thousands of years (cause unknown, possibly to avoid detection by Xenos).
20,000 BC: Ekilionites reach the stars for a second time, colonization effort grows.
15,000 BC: Second Federation attacked by much larger, Milky way race.
14,200 BC: Second Federation collapses, surviving Ekilionites become slave for the other race, Rapid Adaption and cross breeding gene were believed to have come from this time.
12,000 BC: Ekilionites managed to escape captors, fleeing on a flotilla of scrapped together ships they managed to outwit there pursuers (who were in the middle of a civil war) and make it back to the Homeworld
11,880 BC: Ekilionites final re-reach home world
11,876 BC: Large civil war breaks out as multiple sides attempt to get a hold of the technology on the flotilla.
11,875 BC: Ships destroyed in the nuclear war that ensues, Ekilionites flee underground.
2,000 BC: Ekilionites emerge from undeground bunkers to find the world above has regrown. Ekilionites settle in cities.

Modern History of the Federation (in standard years)
1400: A massive Ekilion war breaks out as the many cities try to control the others.
1500: The war ends and the Eko (utilitarian/communist) country wins begins remaking the planet.
1650: The first spaceship is launched. It makes it into space. It remains there for 3 days and then returns.
1675: First mission to the closest of Ekilion's moons. The mission is a success and the first moon walk is preformed.
1700: Multiple missions to Ekilion's moons have happened and even the most distant moon was reached.
1789: The first manned mission to another planet (Tanith) is launched.
1793: Tanith Colony established, Dragon Kings discovered.
1800: Dragon King alliance is formed. New technology allows colonies to be set up across the system.
1801: Ultrimar Colony established. Library established, collective concousness of the Ekilionites begin
1802: Gereon Colony established.
1803: Armedggedon II Colony established.
1804: Massive colonization (Targo, Jago, Jago II, Warding are all colonized)
1805-2039: Minor alliances and skirmishes as the Federation becomes set. Including a war with Starfleet Command HQ, 1998 4 Neverstops were launched 21 have been made sense.
2040: High Lord Volken voted into power at age 170
Late 2079: Ekilion joins the JSA.
2081: War agianst Tarque Maru, General Harkon sentenced to 2 years in prision, tensions with the JSA reach all time high.
2098: Ekilion intervens in Peace For Men civil war
2100: Ekilion operatives help put down a coup in Hornopolis
2110: Ekilion soldiers assist Hornopolis in the defense of Grave
2111: Ekilion soldiers assist Peace For Men in yet another civil war
2113: Ekilion soldiers become involved in Pacifying the American wasteland in Hornopolis
2115: High Lord Volken resigns from office after 75 years in office. Federation wide people protest his abdication but he leaves anyways. High Lord Haven voted into office.

History has been discontinued do to the end of the Ekilion Federation

The New Ekilionites (Ekonites 2.0)

The Ekilionites underwent a massive change when they were re-birthed by the Coalescence. They lost there ability to rapidly evolve to environments and they also lost the ability to have massive families like the old Ekilionites. When they came to their senses, and the Coalescence left they found the Library. The Library showed them their ancestors, and when they realized how different they were they re dubbed themselves Ekonite. The Ekonite gained something when they were rebirthed by the Coalescence. They gained the ability to manipulate their genetics to match most species in the Galaxy. This comes in a number of levels.

Level 1 transformation: The Ekonite has observed the other species from the outside for a period of time, they can make a perfect replica of the species, but only on the outside. If they were given an X-ray a observer would notice their organs would be out of place, and if they were given a blood test, or genetic test it would become immediately apparent that they were not a member of the species.

Level 2 transformation: The Ekonite has observed the species, inside and out. This process involves a dissection, vivisection being looked down on. After this point the Ekonite can replicate the species inside and out. X-ray tests would no longer work and the Ekonite. Depending on the nature of abilities it is possible for the Ekonite to use the abilities, like extreme strength and things along those lines.

Level 3 transformation: The Ekonite is now an almost perfect copy of the species. Genetic test's remain the only way to detect them, and even then they might occasionally get stumped. To achieve this stage the Ekonite has to ingest the flesh of the species. Any genetic abilities of the species are now accessible to the Ekonite. This stage is usually only used in the field by spies and spec ops soldiers. At home certain species that have useful abilities are spread out among the populace.

Transformation is something the Ekonite can train. Standard populace usually take a month or more to change species or gender. Highly trained spies and spec ops soldiers can make the transformation in a matter of minutes, even while running or doing other things. The best spies and spec ops can make this transformation in seconds. Any species that the Ekonite has ever transformed into (at any level) or met the prerequisites can be called up at any time.Ekonites can crossbreed across any genetic barrier, the child resulting from the union will always be an Ekonite that appears as the other species upon birth. Essentially a crossbred child is an Ekonite born at a level 3 transformation. This Ekonite can live its life without ever knowing about its power. Currently there are 3 million Ekonites, but their army is much much larger then there population would suggest as 1 officer is necessary for 120 constructs.


Ekonites in battle

A fair number of Ekonites serve on the battle line along side their Bio-Constructs. The Ekonites serve as officers, each in control of an assault group, under the control of a bonded Ekonite/Openta pair. Using biological armour and weapons like their bio-constructs they can devastate regular soldiers. Their guns are directly attached to the officer carrying them, linking nervous systems, and allowing the officer to look through a set of eyes near the front of the gun. These eyes act like a sight, giving range and showing where the officer should shoot to hit the target in sensitive areas. Ekonite armour can take numerous hits from small arms, receiving smaller bruises from the concussive force. Heavier weapons and tank rounds can seriously harm the Ekonite through sheer concussive force. The armour also allows for breathing in airless and poisonous environments. Armour is very personalized.

The Army of the Monarchy

The Army of the Monarchy relies on the power of Bio-Constructs, creatures grown under careful guidance to defend the Kingdom. The soldiers are tied to the Republic through the very strong ties of family. Each soldier believes the Ekilionites and their ships to be their parents. The Bio-constructs refer to Male Ekilionites as Fathers, Ekilionite vessels as Mothers, and Female Ekilionites as Little Mothers. The Bio-Constructs are classified into multiple categories, currently these categories are Children (soldier and equipment), Adults (Tanks) and Air-sons (Atmospheric craft)


Children

Brua

The Brua resemble human sized pill bugs. They are used as scouts, rolling to their targets, moving at a much faster speed then any human. When they roll their hard outer carapace protects them from most small arms fire. The problem is that when they are rolled up they cannot use their natural weapons, a pair of biological sprayers on each side of their mouths. Which they use to stun, or kill anyone who tries to attack them. These weapons are not very efficient and usually Brua try to avoid direct attacks. Brua also have the ability to speak in radio waves, sending back reports to the Officers.

Mur and young An's

Mur are young Dur, used as standard infantry there are at least 5 on most Adult's and even on Air-sons. They are small eight legged creatures, starting out at about 1.5 feet high, they grow to 3 feet high, then they begin growing into Dur. Murs have minor armour plating that is only good at stopping pistol fire, and deflecting heavier rifle shots. They have two eyes on the front of their diamond shaped bodies which are protected in a similar manner to the Dur, they also have mouths right below the eyes that allow for communication. Usually attached to Mur are young An's, at this point they are the equivalent of infantry rifles, they fire at a much faster rate then their older brothers, being capable of full automatic fire. Like there older brothers the young An's use bones as ammunition, which results in grisly sights on the battlefield, as groups of Mur's eat a dead body to harvest its bones for the An's attached to their backs. A Mur also has a backup plan should their weapons prove insufficient, they jump onto the target and expel almost all of their organs, insides, and a huge quantity of Vyr goop onto the target. A tactic for Mur to eliminate armoured vehicles is to swarm them and dispose of them with huge quantities of armour cutting explosions.

Silatra

The Silatra are extremely dangorous for children. Used as personal body guards for high ranking Fathers, Little Mothers, and for any Mother. Silatra are vaguely humaniod as in they have arms, 4 arms to be exact. Standing at 7 foot 4 on average they are equiped with advanced heavy bio-launchers. The Silatra have armour that rivals a Dur, able to withstand almost all small arms fire and smaller tank rounds. Silatra are rare though, as they are increadibly slow and they require the same amount of biomass as a Dur and Adult An pair. Silatra are increadably dangorous as their Heavy Bio-Launchers will shred infantry and even lighter vehicles. Silatra also have an increadibly deadly melee attack, using their pincer like jaws they can devestate unshielded infantry.Some Silatra instead have 4 sharp scythe like arms that are used to carve the enemy in half. Silatra have two bulges behind their eyes, these are one of the Silatra's most deadly weapons. Each fires bone shards at an extremely rapid rate, each of these shards is loaded with tiny Crybans, and if the shard punches through the armour these creatures come out the tip and begin turning the target into biomass, a rather painfull process. These Crybans also multiply when they become full of bio-mass.


Nu

Nu are living bombs, with fins, eyes, and a biological jet engine. They rocket toward their targets and using their heads, which are made of extremely hard bone to cut into vehicles, or through infantry. They are loaded with large quantities of Vyr goop, the same explosive used in Adult An shells. So once they are in the tank they scatter the explosive over the inside of the vehicle, turning the vehicle into a fireball. They can also be used as cluster munitions when they explode above enemy armies, scattering Vyr goop over numerous targets. On its own Vyr goop does not have large armour piercing qualities, so tanks and other heavily armored vehicles are usually safe when the Nu detonate this way. Infantry on the other hand are doomed, as the Vyr goop can cut through most infantry armor. Nu can and do target aircraft, getting withing 4 feet before exploding and scattering Vyr goop all over the plane the resulting explosion usually devastate airplanes lighter armour, if an attach like this fail the Nu will change to ramming the airplane, and then exploding.


Crybans

Crybans are a modification of Scrybers. The Crybans are used to cleanse the battlefield of dead, the near dead, and occasionally the living. The Crybans are released in droves over major battlefields (and occasionally armies) where they proceed to strip flesh from the targets. Leaving behind the bones for larger bio-constructs. Being less then a foot long they are extremely hard to hit with standard weapons. The Crybans turn the flesh they ate into biomass when they get back to the ships. After eating a large amount of biomass they grow noticeably, and at that point they stop fighting and make their way back to the ships to deposit the biomass.

Lrar

Lrar are a relative to the Cybrans except seen more often on the battlefield. Lrar look like floating jellyfish which stick to their host until necassary (hosts are Dur, Suna, Ekonites, and occasionaly Mur). When the host runs low on ammunition they detach from the host and move from dead body to dead body sucking the bones out of their bodies. Occasionaly they target living creatures but they are vulnerable to weapons fire and short of an ambush they have little chance of killing the target.

Adults

Dur and Adult An's

Durs are older Murs, they are much larger standing at 8 feet tall, with the Ans' attached to their backs making their total size around 11 feet tall. The Durs have diamond shaped bodies, with two eyes on each side of the front of the body, covered in a near unbreakable transparent bubble. The Dur also have much heavier armour, able to withstand all forms of small arms fire, and even some heavier tank cannons. Under their eyes the Dur have mouths which they use to communicate. The Adult Ans on their backs are much different then their younger brothers. They have lost their ability to fire automatic but they fire a much heavier shot. These shots resemble a pyramid, made out of bone, able to cut into tank armour, and shred infantry. Once the shot has impacted it either splits up and sends molten copper (projected by Vyr Goop) onto the target or they explode after embedding themselves in something, resulting in a more focused explosion with lots of shrapnel. The adult Ans also have the ability to fire a paralyzing goop that is used to make targets harvest able. Like their younger brothers the An relies on bones to fire, and it isn't unusual to see Dur's eating enemy and friendly dead, or living.


Suna

The Suna serve as mobile artillery. Large quadrupeds, with very thick legs and three pronged claws at the base of each foot. They Suna carry large cube like packs on their backs. These are the equivalent of multiple missile launchers, firing Nu fit into the packs. Usually their are about 24 loaded Nu's in a young Suna, older ones can hold up to 48 Nu and a battery of Suna, no matter their age can devastate advancing forces. With the versatility of the Nu the Suna is a threat to any thing on the battlefield, fighters, tanks, infantry, even other artillery. Some Suna are modified, holding one to two Adult Nu, which are extremely rare as they are required to grow away from the battle zone. The Adult Nu are much larger then standard Nu and are usually used for anti-orbital work, or devastating large groups of infantry, firing a Adult Nu against a tank is usually a waste cause a standard Nu could do it just as well.


Luina

The Luina are used as heavy tanks in the Republic forces. They look like Horseshoe crabs with very heavy sloped armour plating. They are large, about 8 feet wide and 6 feet tall. With a single heavy bio-cannon sticking out of a hump on their backs. The cannon can devestate opposing tanks, and can serve as an infantry support weapon, with heavy armour. The Luina's Cannon only has about a 45 degree firing range (45 degrees from center, both left or right). It supports itself with a number of legs hidden underneath the armour plating, which almost reaches the ground. What would be a tail on a Horseshoe crab is actually a powerful long range antenna, used to keep communication with allied forces, two more smaller antenna are on each side of the hump, used to detect advancing infantry. The Luina are slow but can turn increadibly fast, and the heavy antenna on their backs can be used to devestate infantry who get to close. The Luina also carry about 8 Mur who usually stay around the Luina to provide anti-infantry defense. Unlike the Dur the Luina use metal as ammunition, any metal, and they have advanced digestive systems that let them melt down any metal they come across. Either they use this to melt down wreckage for ammunition or they can use it as a secondary attack against machines should they run out of ammo. They survive by photosythisis when they are out of combat, doubling as airscrubbers on ships. They conserve as much of their energy as they can and when they get into battle they recharge themselves by eating and rapidly digesting dead bodies.

Likama

Likama are used to infiltrate cities and to hide bio-constructs on open worlds. The Likama look like large worms with a mouth that seems to be made up of three separate jowls. The Likama are hollow inside and the are used to transport large groups of bio-constructs into cities, or to hide them underground. The Likama are tunnelers, and they can range from 2.4km long to 4.8 km long. The Likama have the ability to dissipate large amounts of heat and they can dive deep into the crust of a planet, and come back up in the center of a city, or if the underground is big enough, its sewers. A couple Likama can deliver a massive force directly into cities, passing outer defenses. Likama are heavily armoured, with minor explosives, even tank shells, hardly damaging the Likama when it is above ground (which it rarely is). Short of Nuclear missiles there is little that can kill a Likama in a single blast.

Amania

Amania look like huge cockroaches. Standing at 7 feet tall and they are 40 feet long. Amania are used in battle as direct artillery and anti-air support role. When a Amania is in battle its back carapace rolls to the sides and a large biological artillery piece folds out. The gun extends another 6 feet above the Amania. The weapon can hit targets at ranges far past a Luina, up to 60 Miles away, The Amania can also fire directly against tanks at close range (~20 miles), where it can cut through armour with ease. It can also be used to fire as a Anti-Air weapon, were it can go up 60 miles. Allowing it to hit atmospheric craft and if stationed on mountains it can hit ships in low orbit.

Air-Sons

Cural

The Cural are the most numerous Air-Sons. Used as fighters, transports, and light tanks. They are amazingly versatile. As a fighter they are slower then most dedicated fighter craft, as they are much larger and turn slower. As a tank they are not very maneuverable and with the biological equivalent of 4 20mm guns they can't damage heavier tanks. Instead they are used as anti-infantry turrets, their heavier amour protecting them from most small arms weapons, and the four biological guns shredding infantry. They use bones as well, as it is difficult for them to absorb bones in the battle they hold many more shots, and usually don't run out, if they do the sixteen Mur's they carry with them can bring back bodies for them to ingest. The Cural can pick up radio signals, and are usually direct by an Officer back at their ship, or one on the ground calling in the Cural.


Jeel

The Jeel are massive bombers. Rarely used as their biomass requirements are heavy. They resemble massive Sting Rays that can fly. When first born they are about 60m long, and eventually grow to about 90m in length. They are also very wide and they carry a large number of Nu. For anti-fighter protection the Jeel carry a number of modified Mur, about 5 feet tall these Mur have modified An strapped to them (they are modified into biological missile packs). These can effectively target fast moving fighters and carry Nu, which allows them to target ground units and aircraft. The Jeel are also used as transports as they carry large number of jump Mur which jump of the Jeel and drop to the surface below surviving by using a small anti-gravity bubble on their stomachs. These Mur are also a bit larger about 4 feet tall. They then drop the used anti-gravity pack and fight as standard Mur. For transportation the Jeel attach themselves to space ships, being able to survive in the vacuum of space means that ships carrying Jeel seem to have another layer over top of them. This is dangerous fro the Jeel cause if the ship engages another in ship to ship action they pretty much become another layer of armour. Jeel though are perfectly willing to give their lives if it means protecting a Mother, no matter its age.

Ship Classifications of the Republic

The Republic has very different ship clssifications then most navies, seeing as each vessel is a living being in its own right, each one considered an equal the Ekilionites as they allow for transportation and the birthing of Republican bio-constructs. The ships species name are the Openta, but unbonded Ekilionites and bio-constructs usually call them Mothers. The origins of the Openta are a mystery to the Ekonites and rumour abounds at their origins. Openta work in space by taking over hulks and growing over them. When they outgrow the hulk they take over a larger one and decompose the smaller one, turning it into an exoskeleton. When the Openta reaches Matriarch level the space hulk at its center does little more then protect the vital organs. The exoskeleton is as powerfull as 5 space ship hulls.



Bonding

Every Republican vessel is an sapient being. Each vessel is bonded with an Ekilionite at birth, usually an Ekilionite born at the same time. These bonded pairs become the mainstay of the Republican forces. Serving as Space ship/captain pairs and as base/general pairs when on the ground. Each vessel has a personality, and they are influenced by their bonded Ekilionite, just like how the bonded Ekilionite is influenced by the ships personality. Each Ship/Ekilionite pair is different, depending on the two's experience. The Ships birth the advance armies of the Republic, providing assault forces. The bonding is a mental and for most of the time physical bond as the Bonded Ekonite can be directly linked into the Openta's nervous system.


Embryonic

Embryonic ships are considered to small for space flight, being about 10 meters in length and 4 meters high. This stage last about 12 years, and this stage sets the Openta's personality. Openta at this stage are usually around their bonded Ekilionite and usually practice flying together, an Embryonic Openta has passageways inside it (that latter become hallways) that are about 2 meters high, meaning that most full grown Ekilionites can not fit inside it. Very rarely do Embryonic Openta birth creatures (they do have the ability though), and if they do they are nothing other then Mur, if they do have a Mur around then it is usually cause the Embryonic Openta or the Bonded Ekilionite managed to see the birthing process happen on a bigger Openta.


Infant

Infant Openta are the youngest of the Space capable Openta. Infants are about 50 meters long and 25 meters high, at this stage the Openta are the equivelent of Gunboats or Torpedoboats in Mechanical armies. Most Openta deaths happen during this stage, as they do not have very good protection and they are new to space. The bonded Ekilionite and the Openta usually have two distinct personalities by now, but they are more like two parts of one creature. Infant Openta usually have a number of Mur on board, usually the Bonded pairs first experiance with the birthing process, this usually come naturally to the Openta but it can sometimes make the Bonded Ekilionite feel strange. This stage of life lasts about another 4 years.


Daughter

Daughter Openta are still consider to be very young, and they are going through the equivelent of Adolescence. Daughters are about 100 meters long and about 50 meters high, at this stage the Openta are the equivelent of Destroyers. Daughter Openta suffer fairily large casualties as they still lack heavier armour, they do have a small layer of carbon plating. Daugther Openta usually begin having Maternal feelings at this point as they birth more bio-constructs, usually still Murs and mabye a few larger constructs, mabye even a Dur or a Silatra, who is usually the pride of the Bonded Pair. Bonded Ekilionites usually become used to the brithing process by this point, and bonding between the Openta and Bonded Ekilionite accelerates during this time as they begin delving into the natural abilities of the Openta. This stage lasts another 4 years


Young Mother

Young Mother Openta have finally entered there first mature age. Young Mothers are about 300 meters long and about 150 meters high, and serve as the equivelents of Light Cruisers. Young Mother Openta are now considered adults, and so are thier Bonded Ekilionites. Young Mothers have begun birthing larger groups of Bio-Constructs, usually having a number of Dur and lots of Mur, they might even have a few Suna, Luina, or Cural, if they had a Dur or Silatra back in the Daughter phase then it is probably the Bonded Ekilionites personal body guard or is aide. This stage lasts about 5 years.


Mother

Mother Openta are now experianced adults. They are about 700m long and about 350 meters high, and they are the equivelent of Heavy Cruisers. With 25 years of experiance behind them they are powerful and dangorous to enemies of the Republic. Mother Openta now have full complements of bio-constructs, with large numbers of Mur and Dur, and atleast ten Suna, Luina, or Cural, and they usually have more. Some Mother/Ekilionite pairs have a Jeel, these are rare though because collecting the biomass for a Jeel is difficult at this stage and it is very easy for the Jeel to be killed in a space battle. This stage lasts about 5 more years.


Old Mother

Old Mother Openta are nearing middle age. They are about 1.4 Kilometers long and 700 meters high, and are the equivelent of Battleships in other nations. Old mothers now carry large numbers of bio-constructs, and can produce large numbers once they have landed. At this stage Old Mothers are very well protected, having 30 years worth of armour buildup. Jeel are a much more common sight among Old Mothers and large groups of Suna, Luina, and Cural are almost always present. Old Mothers also usually have a number of Silatra on them for personal protection and to protect the Bonded Ekilionite when he leaves the ship.


Matriarch

Matriarch is the final stage in Openta evolution. They are 4 Kilometers long and 2 kilometers high/wide, they are the equivelent of Dreadnaughts in other nations. Matriarchs can single handedly lead an assault on a planet with their large complements of Bio-Constructs and their ability to breed hundreds at any one time.

Importance of Biomass

Ekonites use biomass for everything, from making bio-creatures to trading, and even food in a pinch. Processed biomass is the deciding factor in how "rich" a person is. Processed biomass is a paste like substance, lacking a taste but it has a tendency to smell when exposed to heat. Every family, even the poorest have some biomass. In smaller households or ones far away from cities this biomass is stored in the household, but in the cities or for families that have more biomass then they can handle, there are banks. These banks work like monetary ones, loaning out biomass expecting repayment, this is then put into interest for the other customers. These banks are government backed, if they crash then the government pays 50% of the loss (to each customer) from its personal stores, also used for supplying defense forces.

Importance of Bio-Constructs

Ekonites do not care for things like gold or jewels, instead Ekonites rank each other through the amount of Bio-Constructs a person has produced. This is because a person who has more Bio-Constructs has worked to gain these creatures, having harvested more bio-mass through any means. This puts Bonded Ekonites among the highest ranking people in the Republic., with their access to near unlimited numbers.

Language

Ekonites have a very different language then many sentient species. It has almost nothing comparable to most languages and anyone trying to decipher the language would have an extremely difficult time. The Ekonites communicate through clicks, very rapidly. Ekonites can have an entire conversation in the time it takes a human to say more then a few sentences. The loudness of the click, the length (even down to a few milliseconds) and the tone all change the meaning of the words. The Ekonites lack written language and usually adopt the written language of the planet they live on. Outside of that they use the Vipran language for writing.

Ekonite Dancing

Ekonites rarely get chances to express their innerselves, only showing their outerselves to those around them. Dancing is where this changes. Ekonites only dance with people they trust with their life, and their is a good reason for this. Ekonite dancing is incredably dangerous, the two partners act as much in competition with eachother as in cooperation. Dances tend to look like a blend of martial arts and an acrobatics show. Ekonites use their enhanced agility and their extreme acrobatic abilities to leap around the dance floor in a series off flips and arial roles. When in close proximity the dance changes into what can almost be described as a fight, with the partners trading kicks that are meant to be easily dodge (easily dodgeable for an Ekonite is still faster then most Humans can react). The more confident the partners are in eachother the harder they make these kicks to dodge. True masters of the Ekonite dance will go from close range leg sweeps and kicks to backfliping 12 feet through the air and back again. Those who are not prepared though can suffer incredable injury, a foot to the head is easily enough to knock a person out and if they are going fast enough can result in a fatal injury. Hits to the chest will usually result in a boken ribcage and hits to the arms and legs will inevitably lead to a broken appendage. The dance also speeds up as it goes on, starting of rather slowly, and by the end of it the Ekonites are moving almost faster then the eye can follow. The music that goes along with such dances is similiarily fast paced. Usually its drum heavy along with Wind Instrements and Strings, though some clans, especially ones that go offworld tend to adopt local music into their dances.


Marriage

Ekonite marriages are stranger then other species. With both Ekonites being able to change genders, and even species on a whim, it is hard to tie down a male and female. Usually there is one dominant Ekonite, which is usually the one who can supply the most biomass to the family. When marrying an offworlder Ekonites will take the gender opposite of the offworlder if only for sanities sake.

The Kukurik

The Kukurik hold a very high position among the Ekonites even though they just recenlty entered the society. Every single Ekonite has one and they treat it as a part of the family. The Kukurik are dog like creatures, about 4 feet tall and 9-10 feet long (including tail, without tail in between 6-7 feet). With a slender fairly long neck, a pointed head with forward facing eyes and sensory stalks coming out the back of their heads. They have very powerful jaws mixed with sharp teeth, which the Kukurik can load with an extremely deadly venom. Their body is fairly slender, mostly muscle. Out of their backs is a set of defensive spikes. Behind them is a long slender tail. Their four paws have very sharp claws and can excrete the same venom as their teeth. Kukurik are very powerful creatures which can easily kill a human man without the assistance of their venom. They can also run very fast at 50mph even for very long runs. The Kukurik are very smart creatures who are able to understand Ekonite language and speak it back. They are also fitted with an Akyam at birth which allows them to learn and speak other languages as well. Some Ekonites even forgo the Akyam now in favour of allowing their Kukurik to translate. The Kukurik are also extremely desease and poision resistant. The Kukurik are extremely loyal to their owner and they will do just about anything to keep them safe. The Kukurik tend to have blue (most regular), green, black, white, voilet, or red skin (rarest). They also have different coloured skin around their sholder joints which usually contrasts with the colouring in the rest of their bodies.

Ekonite Households

An Ekonite household will comprise of immediate family. Extended family (grandparents and the like) do not live within the same house. Children leave home at 21 to make their own households. In most houses there will be rooms, or buildings to house their bio-constructs, and in rural areas, or smaller houses, they have a storage area for biomass.. The entrance to the house is usually a woven blinds, woven by the parents as during their early years. During their spare time Ekonite pairs will weave these rugs and blinds. A household with many of these is considered a good household, as the pair has staid together for a very long time.

Identification

Many would wonder how a race of shape shifters would tell each other apart. Well it is simple. Through the use of names Ekonites are able to identify another Ekonite, and through a second name, whether it is actually the right Ekonite. Each Ekonite has a public name, which most people know them as. Close friends and family know an Ekonite by his personal name. This name is one of th Ekonites best kept secrets, only those they know very very well will hear it. Some times parts of the extended family aren't informed of the name to avoid it being spread and thus, easier to be copy.

The Trial

Due to both the way Ekonites think about the weak and how many children are being born the Trial was made. The Trial forces Ekonites off the planet at the age of 16. The Ekonites are tasked with infiltrating at least 1 large organization. Once this has been completed the Ekonite must come back with information on another nation. Low level intelligence will earn the returning Ekonite little respect, and they will probably end up doing low level work. Bringing back important information earns the returning Ekonite more respect and they will be able to get into higher level jobs and have access to more.

Vipran Influence

Parts of Ekonite culture are based off of Vipran culture, this is credited to the Viprans showing up early in the Ekonites life, showing up within the first generation of Ekonites. Vipran religion (Juntism) found footing in the Ekonites with the gods Elekialli, Polluti, and Laximus finding the biggest groups of followers (Elekialli as she relates to Zexem in Valax, Polluti relates to Unazl, and Laximus represents the work of the Coalescence), with Falius and Killius finding followers as well. Followers of Falius consider each bio-construct they make to be a work of art. Followers of Killius consider creating bio-constructs to be considered creating. Ekonites think highly of the Viprans and large amounts of Expats and emigrants travel to their worlds. Jullunt has also a recent but now very influence addition to the Ekonite Pantheon of worshiped Juntists gods, coming into high influence especially after the splinter fleet left and left behind many many orphans.

Importance of armour in Ekonite society

To someone touring Ekilion it is unlikely that they will actually see an Ekonite, transformed or otherwise. What they will see instead is what the Ekonite wants them to see. This is done through the use of highly personalized armour, which also assists the Ekonite with their work, allowing them to lift more and work harder then they would usually be able to. Each Ekonites armour is made to their style, and it can change to whatever the Ekonite wants it to look like on command (as the armour is a living creature itselft). This armour is usually given to the Ekonite when they return from childhood and it acts a barrier to keep the outer aliens from seeing the Ekonite. When the Ekonite is transformed the armour is left off but this is because the new shape fills the same roll (which is to provide another layer of secrecy). When Ekonites talk to another Ekonite they trust with their life(when no outworlders are around) they will retract the face mask. When dealing with outworlders this will stay on, if an Ekonite allows an outworlder to actually see past the face mask it means that the Ekonite has grown to trust the outworlder as a family member. Out breeds and some Pure breed colonists forgo armour.

The Changing

The Changing is the Ekonites version of puperty and plays a very important role in their lives. During the changing an Ekonite suffers from uncontrollable Featureshifting that in the end builds them a form that is how the Ekonite emotionally viewed themselves at the time. The Changing affects Pureblood Ekonites the most, those that have grown up among Ekonite parents in an Ekonite household. The children of alien mixes go through The Changing differently. An Ekonite Outbreed raised by the Alien parent would hardly be effected by the Changing as they are confident enough in the appearence they have been living with their whole life. An Ekonite Outbreed raised by an Ekonite Parent would result in a form that is similar to that of the alien parent but at the same time different. It may look too perfect, its facial features may be different, it may have a different skin colour,etc.

Ekonite Outbreeds vs Purebreeds

Ekonite Outbreeds are the result of a union between an Ekonite and an Alien species. Outbreeds are born looking identical to a baby of the alien species but deep down they still hold the Ekonite shapeshifting gene. Outbreed children though will never be like Purebreed children, Outbreeds gain the longevity or shortness of life of the alien species, they will mature at the same rate as the alien species, but they will find shapeshifting much harder then a purebreed, its also possible for Outbreeds to live their whole lives without knowing they could shapeshift at all. Outbreeds (unless they come to the fleet) will rarely recieve the armour of a Purebreed.

Ekonite Purebreeds on the other hand will live to be 120 at the most, and they reach full maturity around the age of 18. Purebreeds have much better control over their shapeshifting abilities and their ability to manipulate biological matter to their needs.

Religion

Valax

Main Belief:

Valax believes that the Coalescence is the God of the Ekonites. They do not worship it though, instead they treat it like an angry Father, it birthed them, but it is still feared for the rage it could direct to them. They believe the Coalescence is made of two parts, the side that birthed them, called Zexem the Mother, and the side that destroyed their ancestors, called Unazl the Father. Zexem is thanked for giving the Ekonites their life and the ability to breed the Bio-Constructs. Unazl is feared for the hell it could put the Ekonites through should he get angry. Daily prayers are given to both sides of the Coalescence, Zexem is prayed to in the morning, and Unazl is prayed for at dinner. Prayers are usually small, taking no more then two minutes for either prayer, of course this is done in Ekilionite so the prayer would take about 20 minutes in Standard.



Ancestor Belief:

Valax followers worship their ancestors more so then they worship their god. Ancestors gave them most of there technology. They left the library for them, which allowed them to enter the stars within the first few years of rebirth. They also left the ships necessary for FTL travel and allowed them to grow their population. Usually people offer minor things to there Ancestors, and they only do it right before doing something major. Usual offerings are made when a batch of bio-constructs (civilian or military) are started, praying for the ancestors to help them grow. Offerings also happen when campaigns or other major activities are started. Offerings range from food to sapient life for something large.

Nature Worship:

Valax followers also worship Nature. It provides them with the necessary bio-mass for their constructions. Nature is revered and when harvesting happens it is done so that the planet can make a full recovering. The Birhting process is also worshiped, especially by Bonded Ekonites, who see it daily in their ships birthing chambers. It is not odd to see Ekonites bowed in prayer to the plants on a planet. Nature prayers are long and usually used right before Ekonites go to battle, where the ask the wildlife and Flora of the planet to assist them. These prayers are also recited right before major harvesting efforts. The average Nature prayer takes 10 minutes to say in Ekonite.

Civilian Bio-Constructs

Bio-constructs are prevalent throughout Civilian jobs as well, assisting the small number of Ekonites to build, farm, and harvest much faster then they could alone.
Agriculture

Zenal

Zenal are to put simply cattle. They are used for food, and unlike most bio-constructs they have the ability to breed within their species. Zenal are very mailable to the Ekonite geneticists. They produce a large amount of meat, enought to feed a family for a long time. Zenal stand 12 feet tall and 8 feet wide and they look like large fleas. Zenal travel in herds and are occasional used to transport bulk goods in outer farms and colonies.

Xequa

Xequa are used to plow, seed and harvest crops. They look like Dur, except they lack its armour plating and instead have a large saw like appendage under their mouths, along with a vacuum behind it that sucks up the cut stocks and processes them. When plowing they have a large plow attached to their backs that can plow numerous rows at once. Young Xequa then follow behind, and drop seeds into the plowed ground, using the vacuum in reverse.


Industry

Tanuac

Tanuac are used as lumberjacks. The Tuanac look like large lobsters, with two razor sharp claws that are used to cut right through trees. They also have a number of smaller appendages underneath that cut off branches, strip bark, and generaly make the log ready for the factories. The Tanuac are heavily armoured, to protect them from a falling tree.

Quan

Quan are used as miners, about the size of a Mur with a flat hard head, with a bone protruding out the front. This bone is very hard and has a piston like set of muscles. The Quan uses this bone to dig into the rock, and it can be precise enough to cut out crystals and other precious metals. The Quan then ingest the mineral, metal, or crystal and bring it back to base once they are full. Where they regurgitate them. Precious metals have little use to Ekonites but they are necessary to trade with other species who do not value biomass as highly.

Scrybers

A scarab the size of a grown man’s thumb, these go through the streets in large packs and eat waste and litter while leaving living matter alone. They keep the streets clean and bring valuable biomass back to their owners.

Lrabe

Lrabe are civilian versions of Lrar. Instead of hunting for bones the Lrabe work as singular long ranged Scrybers. They move over garbage and other processed biomass (garbage, bones, food, bodies, etc), extract it, and refine it. When they are full they return to their hosts and disgorge their stored biomass.

Transportation

Meliac

A large heavily armoured beast, this creature looks like a large bombardier beetle with a bloated abdomen. The abdomen is mostly hollow, with several bumps and ridges within that allow a group of humanoids to sit or relax with room to spare while several bioluminescent bulbs light the cavity. A long tendril at the front of the abdomen cavity can be connected to a driver to allow them total control over the six-legged creature. While it may be slow the creature is a luxury ride, coming in a number of patterns and sometimes even having a transparent exoskeleton to allow the passengers to view outside.

Memama

Memama are the cheap transportation of the republic. They look like centipedes except with a hollow at every segment. Rarely are the segments enclosed. Each Memama allows large quantities of goods to be moved, allowing farmers to move their goods and miners to bring most of the materials in one haul, also they are used as buses allowing for hundreds of people to move at once.. Memama can actually pull off impressive speeds even at full load, up to 40km/h on roads.

Sysamia

Sysamia look very similar to the Jeel. Their exteriors are identical except for a number flaps on their sides, and one large one on their backs, under the tail. The major difference is that Sysamia have hollow insides, instead of growth glands for Nu. The Sysamia are a dual purpose Bio-Construct, serving in the army as transports for larger Bio-constructs, and as transports for people and goods in civilian work. In the army these hollow insides are empty, to allow the most bio-constructs to fit inside. In civilian roles the Sysamia like the Meliac has large bumps and can hold dozens of Ekonites when full.

Service

Yma

The Yma are used as basic servants, and almost every household has at least one. The Yma are good at household repairs, cleaning, and lifting. They are fairly small, about the size of a dog, and look like Mur except that they have a humanoid (Bug like) torso near the front, and a set of arms. Yma are the invisible keepers of the house (metaphorically), and they are usually unseen unless called for.


Myama

Myama are the higher servants, used for direct communication with others. Appearance wise they appear like the Ekonites. They have fairily large eyes and grey featureless skin, normaly, but they are maleable and each family has changed there genetics to better suit their personalities. Myama sales are used to supliment family income, and there is usually atleast one Myama in a household if the household is middle class to upper class. With the Upper class having numerous Myama in their household.


Akyam

Akyam are a small creature that is 100% brain. It fits in to the ear and then works as a translator. It is not an instant translator though, instead it decrypts the language, and after a few hours of hearing the language it can figure out the language. It then proceeds to relay this information to the hosts brain, who can then understand the language.

Ekonite Clans

The Ekonite society is organized into numerous clans which are labeled Major and Minor. Each Major Clan is comprised of dozens of Families, Minor Clans have 2-5 families. Each Clan major or minor has a vote on the Elder Commander. Ekonites paint symbols on their armour to show which clan they belong to. Each Ekonite has two chance to pick a clan (excluding their birth clan). When a Ekonite returns from their Trial the Ekonite is allowed to pick a clan, also when a pair of Ekonites marry they pick which clan to join (out of their two former clans).

Major Clans

Riithii clan

Ne'vrue, Sevra, the Night Wing are the remains of the origonal Riithii clan which was devastated after the Splinter fleet left. After Ne'vrue's rebellion they are now the most prominent clan and they have married into the Imperial Royal family when Ritham and Ne'vrue were married.

Vavron Clan

The Vavron Clan is one of the most prevalent on Ekilion. In control of most of the Puresh farms on Ekilion its members are almost entirely farmers. A few notable members of the Ekonite Navy are members of the Vavron clan. Including the scandalous naval pair Neura and (Openta) Vama. Currently they are trying to avoid backlash from the events surrounding the pair. The Vavron clan Elder also has some serious swinging power in the Ekonite Government.

Tatal Clan

The Tatal clan is the major military power on Ekilion. Most of its members are part of the Ekonite Armed forces or Navy.

Novalisk Clan

The Novalisk clan is a spread out clan. Most of its members formed the starting group for the Vipran Colony and they originally took their name from the rumoured Vipran Weapons Testing facilities.

Cavar Clan

Cavar clan is one of the least noticed clans. They work on perfecting the bio-constructs and because of this they tend to be followers Falius and actively try to spread the Juntism faith.

Ne'vru is the current and first Ekonite Monarch. Much taller then your average Ekonite, Ne'vrue is also one of the most manipulative and devious Ekonites alive. Her armour has 6 eyes and she has had it modified to included a number of extra retractable limbs, giving her the appearance, and the title of "Spider Queen". Ne'vrue has also surrounded herself with one of the most all encompassing anti-spy/assasian units known to the galaxy. Numerous Ekonite spies have found their employ working for her for the sole purpose of finding any Government members who might be planning agianst Ne'vrue. Ne'vrue has also tried to incorperate aspects of other nearby sucessful monarchies including the Grandtarian monarchy and the Vipran Monarchy.

Children (With Rihtam Alataryx)
Osalia-Virelli feskeenci Riithii (Eldest Daughter)- Osalia is currently 5 years old. She is a spitting image of Rihtam's sister Anammi in more then just apperance. She is generally seen as rather ditzy but she is hiding extreme cunning underneath this cover. She is incredably fond of bioconstructs and the birthing process. Regularialy found sitting in the ships birthing chambers watching the bioconstructs grow. She also has a habit of riding Mur and Dur around the ship.

Name: Ira Tatal

Ira is one of the Ekonites most active diplomats, specializing in dealing with the Viprans. She is an incredably dedicated worker, sometimes working for days without sleep as the need requires it. Living among the Viprans for so long has made her express her chosen Feminine state more then you average Ekonite, and her armour represents this. She has a slender frame, and her armour is a strange mix of traditional brown, along with baby blue and white. Her armour presents a basic 2 eyed face along with head tails much like the Viprans she communicates with on a daily bases. She is completely fascinated with the Vipran species, a fascination that started when she was captured by them during the First Contact incident. She also met her future husband, Captain Vanutal Daron, during the incident who she married a number of years after.


Name: Kagor
Height: 5`2

Kagor is the major Ekonite embassador to the Grandtarians, now the Ekonites next dorr neighbours. Kagor has attempted to mold himself into a form that is less troubling to Grandtarains. His short size along with his armour gives him a stocky appearance. He is also one of the strongest hand to hand fighters in the entire Ekonite race, regularily winning competitions through both brute force and immense cunning. He is also one of the Ekonites top drinkers, with a record alcohol level of 3.3, this leaving him in a choma for a few weeks and caused sever liver damage, which was fixed while he was in his coma. His armour presents a strange 3 eyed visage to surrounding people.
