You make your own. Combine or split up countries, create new continents, etc.

Well, the easiest way for drawing map is with MS Paint. If you want more advance look of the map, use Illustrator, Paint.net or any other photo editing software. Start with base, Is your nation island, landlocked or coastal? Does it have neighbouring nations from your region? Then is your nation full of mountains, or is it like the Netherlands, all flat. Start with basic borders of your nation, and then add elevation in layers, after that, the cities.

The orthographic globe thing? I took one from Wikipedia and edited it with MS Paint.

Quite nice, though I personally find the last pic to be a bit odd.

Thank you so much! I'd been needing help with this, the NSwiki was a bit weird with it.

I'll post a link to my Factbook here soon.

Very good job! I've been working on a wiki-ish factbook for a while (link). I think I did a good job with the individual posts (especially the military tech ones), BUT my main page needs a serious face-lift. This is just the kind of template I needed.

You could try putting an image in a box, with text also in the box:

(floatleft)(box)(img)image link(/img)
Caption(/box)(/floatleft)

Image
Soodean Motor-Rifle Infantry at the Battle of Southwood. The vehicles in the background are BTR-70 APCs,
used to carry the soldiers rapidly into combat.

So this happened.

Does anyone know how to insert pictures into the sidebar?

Flormenia wrote:Does anyone know how to insert pictures into the sidebar?

Put [img] tags around the URL of the picture you want, and usually with tags to align it to the centre, with the code looking like this:

Code: Select all
[align=center][img]http://i1326.photobucket.com/albums/u650/IngoldPunk/MaltropiaFlag_zpsd885b2d0.png[/img][/align]

which gives this:

Image

Try to keep the picture to less than 250 pixels in width so that it doesn't look too big.

Doesn't work for me because my flag is not uploaded anywhere on the internet.
All I get is an annoying text in the flag section when I press preview.

Just click on your flag with the right mouse button, click view image, copy url of that image into the [img] tags. Worked for me.
