Is it possible to have parts of the factbook source from your actual nation? ie how to reference population when it changes every day, or to inport one's GDP when every issue can affect it.

Yes, although it seems not all Nationstats can be used

I've made a template for a political party, as I didn't see any in this thread. Feel free to add/remove sections as you please, this one is mostly tailored to my nation.

well, I made my own Factbook as well (Thank You OP. this template really helped)
it's still in progress (and, it will be until I get to make it detailed enough for me to be satisfied. so probably never lol) but you can find it here
(Also a question. what is the maximum number of words one can put in a Factbook? I think it's about 12000 but I'm not sure)

If you have only one factbook then it shows up as the main, if you have multiple then it won't work.
