Elections have begun in the United Socialist States of Azgara. Under the Soviet Democracy form of government, the Workers shall elect the Local Councils who shall all elect one member to the regional assembly, then the regional assemblies shall all elect a member to the National Assembly. The parties contesting the election are the Socialist Party and the Conservative Party.
Socialist Party of Azgara
Ideology: Democratic Socialism, Christian Socialism
The Socialist Party of Azgara is currently in power. Unlike other Socialist Parties, they are almost entirely Christian. Their ideology is Democratic Socialism rooted in the belief that the Bible encourages socialism.
Conservative Party of Azgara
Ideology:Conservatism
The Conservative Party of Azgara is currently the minority party. Like the Socialists, their social policies are traditionalist, however their fiscal policies stand in stark contrast to the fiscal policies of the Socialist Party, with the Conservatives being in favor of a laissez-faire system.
This is the second general election to be held since the founding of the United Socialist States of Azgara in 2007. The previous elections were held in 2009.
