NSG Senate: Transport Ministry Archive

Postby The State of Czecho-Slovakia » Mon Jul 22, 2013 8:11 am

Hello, and welcome to the Transport Ministry of Aurentina. If you're wondering why this isn't in F7, but is instead in Factbooks\National Info, the reasons are two fold. First off, there is no way there will be enough traffic to keep this page from being autopruned. Secondly, one of the main purposes of this thread is to act as a factbook for our nations transportation system, and archive important documents such as maps ect.

This thread is a place where:
1. Records of our transportation system will be archived. This includes maps.
2. Announcements & Reports by the Transport Minister and the findings of transport safety organizations will be archived here.

This thread established with the blessing of the current Aurentine President, Brittano.

AruRail, Pt.1:

Postby The State of Czecho-Slovakia » Wed Jul 24, 2013 8:59 am

In accordance with the Transportation Ministry Provision Act 2013,
"Article 1: On Ministerial Powers:
1b: The Ministry of Transport shall have responsibility of operation for all state investments in business ventures and state-owned enterprises related to transport.
1c: The Ministry of Transport shall administer all government bodies that are not administered by relevant government agencies.”
&
“Article 3: On Rail Transport
3a: A Rail Transport Agency may be created at the behest of the Minister of Transport.
3b: A state owned enterprise may be created at the behest of the Minister of Transport, with the planning and maintenance of the infrastructure of the railway network to be conducted by said enterprise.
3c: Herein relegates all licencing, leasing and contracting powers pertaining to rail transport to the relevant agency.
3d: Herein relegates all revenue generated to be collected by the relevant agency.
3e: Herein relegates all infrastructure and rail safety standards to be implemented by the relevant agency.”

I hereby declare that, on July 24, 2013, the responsibility for all interstate passenger trains is assumed by a government agency, AruRail. This action is intended to free freight railroads from passenger deficits, and passenger trains from freight management. This directive shall hopefully be extended beyond my term by the accompanying bill which I will propose to the Senate. After this date, all freight railways are absolved from any legal obligation to operate interstate passenger service. AruRail is obligated to assume the operations of interstate passenger trains. The nation's railroads can contract with AruRail to continue the operation of their interstate passenger trains, or they may abandon them. Those railroads that do contract with AruRail will receive a tax discount. Any railroad may opt out of the system without penalty, simply by having there opting out announced by their consultancy’s Senator to this ministry. These railroads must announce weather they intend to continue to independently operate their passenger trains or abandon service.

Nationwide ticket prices are to be fixed by AruRail, and a central ticket booking website (WWW.ARURAIL.COM) and hot line ( 1-800-ARURAIL) are established. As much as possible, all ticket sales will be used to pay for operating the service, with the government paying for the rest. The paint scheme for all rolling stock shall consist of the national colors of blue, white, and black.

I would like to put myself forward as the candidate for the director of Aurail (because it looks and sounds better).

Also, this goes in F7.

This ministry is located in fact books due to it containing maps and other important information about our company, as I stated in the OP. I have revised the OP to more accurately reflect what goes on here. I'm afraid the best I can offer you is a deputy directors position, as the Transportation Ministry Provision Act 2013 states in Transportation Ministry Provision Act 2013, 1c: The Ministry of Transport shall administer all government bodies that are not administered by relevant government agencies.

On the advice of my fellow Senators, the brand name for our national passenger rail service is to be changed to "Aurail" from "AruRail". I thank my fellow senators for their input, and my deputy minister Costa for his suggestions.

I made some highway signs for Aurentina a while back and have been using them on the maps I make that have to do with highways.
