Would it make sense to target hospitals in a missile strike? I'm already targeting a lot of different things, but I was just curious if I should add enemy-held hospitals to that list.

Little value compared to other targets, and a sure-fire way to get you nuked into the dirt.

With 10-20km range it probably can be slightly more picky about where it sits down to fire.

Probably. Does anyone have documentation on how Soviet mountain troops fought in Afghanistan? That'll probably answer a lot of TNF's questions and this particular conundrum.

I'd advise against it. It's really really bad PR. Unless you can find proof that its being used as a cover for an ammo dump or something, it's a bad idea.

They don't have civilians in them, don't worry. The places I'm striking in that area had their civilians evacuated.

Besides, my PR couldn't be any worse in that war if I openly tried to make it so. I've already massacred several thousand people and enslaved several thousand more for the express purpose of building death camps. That, and I've deployed nuclear artillery on a city already (but OP barred me from doing it again) and I've used chemical weapons on several occasions.

At this point my PR is beyond redemption.

Don't do this. You don't have to kill already combat-ineffective men using expensive munitions for one. This is also beyond the pale as far as many nations and people are concerned. Doctors are noncombatants, and doing this is a guaranteed way to piss off your allies and give nations previously uninvolved a casus belli against you. Violating international law should be done only if no other option is available for national survival.

That is why you must strike first. Thousands of B2s each with large numbers of low yield nuclear bombs flying at high altitude carrying out nuclear carpet bombing of the entire nation. After that you send in your 150 ton heavy tanks to conquer your new parking lot from the irradiated survivors.

Am I the only person here that has heard of nuclear air-to-air missiles or what?

That I understand, but I also understand that it's going to be a knock down, drag out slugfest if I have to seize all that land with its infrastructure intact. So while I can't turn infrastructure to benefit me, I can severely frustrate the enemy's ability to conduct a defensive war.

Don't build a runway facing a mountain. This is a bad idea no matter what your reasons. Build airstrips parallel to the mountains in wide valleys or outside of them entirely.

If you need thrusters for prop planes, invest in helicopters or longer valleys. There is no way a jey can operate safely out of that.

Look at stuff with STOL capabilities, but don't expect your planes to carry much or to be able to take off or land at night and/or in inclement weather. You can have airstrips in mountainous areas, but they won't exactly be the safest places to fly into. Expect crashes.

That's a very bad Idea.

First of all, a missed approach will destroy your fancy airplane, it's occupants and it's payload.

Second, a missed approach is very likely due to the weather conditions in mountain regions. You would be dealing with phenomena like Orographic lift and Foehn winds.

Don't direct the runway into the mountain, build the hangers into it.
