How good is Wifi in your nation?

Postby Mordakia » Sat Jul 13, 2013 3:09 am

Mordakia uses a newly installed superfast system called TIFI but what about your nation? Is it isolated, super-fast or has it even evolved beyond the need for wifi?

The Wi-fi network of the Terra Nova of Scrin is known for its relatively fast network connections, mainly because of government funding and stable national Wi-fi systems.

It really depends on where you are, and what company funds it, as we have no national Wifi system.

WiFi is being targeted at expansion to 98% coverage by the end of the year - but coverage is already 90%+, and of that 60% is super fast. Several cities and towns have also taken up public transport wifi.
Look up my Factbook, it's snazzy

It is a world leader in several areas (education, social mobility, HDI, GDP, lack of corruption, public services, technology, secularism etc.) and maintains an excellently equipped and trained military. Until the introduction of TIFI then private corporations and ISP's provided excellent coverage in the cities but non-existent coverage in rural areas. Then the government nationalised Timson Telecom and made TIFI

Charomia very quickly advanced to include internet coverage as soon as the technology came out and has constantly advanced that technology nation wide once every two years which takes three days.

we pride ourselves on our super fast internet.

also we wish to know what is TIFI?

WiFi speeds are excellent in the cities and towns, 'meh' in the country.

Land connections are lightning fast as the internet is based on a fibre optic cable and is capable of 75 gigabit speeds, the government is partnered with several major ISPs to bring this service to rural areas.

The entire landmass of Hyfling is provided with satellite based internet by the ISP HyFI.

The government also operates a separate high speed intranet for secret communications.

Indigo Seas is currently supporting an initiative to bring WIFI internet to the remote villages that are on the Islands, and are researching ways in which to increase the range and speed of the WIFI router. Currently, most of the island has access to a fibre-optic WIFI system, however, we are looking on upgrading this.

TIFI:
1) A government act in Mordakia ordering the opening of free Wifi hotspots under the name 'hypernet' to ensure coverage of at least one hotspot to every 500m sq
2)A government act in Mordakia and ASCOF ordering the deployment of superfast fibre-optic cables nation and region-wide.
3)TIFI, the primary Internet Service Provider in Mordakia operated by Timson Telecom

Most modern phones released since TIFI in Mordakia automatically operate their wifi hotspot 24/7 using free connection to the TIFI 4g network to provide internet. Most modern computers also use 4g recievers built into them that run on TIFI

The country is currently targeting 95% WIFI coverage by the end of this year to facilitate the spreading of information. Of our current 92% coverage, about 84% is super-fast.

Depending on what devices are used and where, WiFi in Costa Fiero is either non-existent to reasonably good. Most cities have well established mobile networks and it's through those that customers are able to access the internet through WiFi systems like Android or iOS. Recently, cities have begun studies on the feasibility of city-wide WiFi networks, although the only city that has implemented such networks is the capital city Vittoria (where it's a free-to-use service provided by state-owned telecommunications company Riocom).

A government investment in wi-fi which began in 2002 is seeing wi-fi coverage expanded into Afalia's isolated rural areas, with the aim of 100% coverage by 2017. The project is so far working.

Wifi in Paparian is decent with an average speed of 27.9 Mbps (peak).
The sole provider is the Government and is also very affordable.
Many outlets (restaurants, shopping malls, hotels) in major cities here offer wifi.

Wifi is ubiquitous in Novus Niciae, just about everywhere on a republic planet will be able to get a excellent strength signal (with the exception of a few sensitive areas that are covered by jammers).

Data transfer rates are at our usual ultra fast speeds and sufficient for minds to remote pilot a shell body with no noticeable lag.

Our wifi network is quite fast, especially in the major cities, although rural areas tend to have slower connections, given that dial-up networks are still prevalent in the rural areas, although it is declining.

Not only does the state telecoms provider, Makaar Telecom (MT), provide fast broadband connection speeds, but all MT-supplied routers allow for two connections to the internet: one private, for the individual subscriber, and one somewhat slower connection accessible publicly to anyone with their own internet service subscription, accessed by login and password. This essentially turns every MT wireless router into a public wifi hotspot; though the connections are not fast enough to stream videos, it allows those with their own internet subscriptions to access the internet for low-bandwidth activities.

Consumers can purchase privately-made routers which do not allow for public connections.
Makaar is ranked 323rd in the world for Most Dedicated Public Healthcare.
Makaar is ranked 272nd in the world for Largest Welfare Programs (per capita).
Makaar is ranked 408th in the world for Nicest Citizens.

Our metropolitan areas have superb connection, supplied by the government's SNIC (Slafstopian National Internet Connection) service. SNIC is great, but it doesn't reach into the tundra villages, so smaller native settlements have poor connection.
